Upcycling Menswear | A sustainable fashion project

I hope you enjoy seeing my contribution to getting thrifty and creating consciously with items already in the world. I love designing clothing within these limitations and hope to continue creating in this way for a long time to come!
I am no minimalist, and I definitely am always looking for ways to keep my wardrobe feeling fresh and modern and to keep my style moving forward, evolving - I need to be inspired by the clothing and outfits that I wear. It's hard to navigate this while also staying conscious of the impact fashion and our consumption of it has on the outside world. There is so much to think about and lots more to say here, buuuut, I'm just one gal, bobbing about on a boat and trying my best! That's where we start, by trying to make change - here's how I do that..

I have just deconstructed a beautiful italian suit that my husband only wore once and it was too small for him!! I just have to put it back together now, the task was really daunting but you have given me the inspiration to carry on. Wish me luck🤞

I already do the jeans, white tee-shirts, men's loafers and oversized blazers for work. I had never thought of altering the blazers, though! Genius! And your designs all look fantastic. I'm going to keep going to Goodwill (my little private addiction) and shopping the men's section. You're right; the men's section at the thrift store is a gold mine. Such great fabrics. Thank you for the inspiration.
I only recently found a good tailor (I sew, but I also work an 8-5 job) who shortened a fabulous pair of men's wool trousers for me (they still had the label on when I bought them); can hardly wait to start wearing them in a couple of months. Now I can bring her a few new projects!
