@@vuckyabx do you know about the reliability of the ongoing L405 Range Rover compared to its peers from other European brands? I guess no, going by your comment. They're on par with every other European SUV not named Porsche on the reliability front.
No more V8 diesels? 😢
Is there no HSE?
PHEV all day every day.
Their designers need a huge pat on the back - they have done an amazing job of continually modernising a classic, whilst retaining its classic feel.
100% agree
Designers did a great job. Quality control sucks, though.
@@vecernicek2 fingers crossed it doesnt for this new model!!!!!
You sir, are the quintessential British car reviewer for the quintessential British car. Outstanding review, as ever.

Lol
Btw , I never seen such a good video with every single detail + no drama + no some stupid background music + speaking very calmly and slowly + more like a presentation rather then personal inspiration or trying to prove it’s the best .
It still baffles my mind as to why this channel doesn't even have 1 million subscribers?!
C'mon guys, let's support this masterpiece of automotive journalism.
Most people are dumb and have ADHD, so they need more intense entertainment.
The more I look at it the more I like it. The interior is exquisite
Its not grey.
Except the screen
@@nemanjap8768 Far better than just having 5 large screens stappled across the dashboard like all other Manufacturers do, this one has been modelled to suit the curves of the front
@@extremehugo88 I don't like it, they should have integrated it better instead of just gluing it to the dash
The car lines look so perfect I cannot tell when it’s the real car versus a 3D model
Henry is among the best IMO when it comes to these new-car studio walkarounds. Well-executed technical explanations/specs, design analysis, and pointing out all the details in a low key and easy to follow manner. Well done Carfection.
these are not my thing, but I have to say it looks exquisite. congrats to the design team and department heads who have made this as sophisticated and elegant as a Riva motor Launch
You know that Karen, "can I speak to the manager haircut" meme?
Look at that and then look at the car again.
I can't unsee it.
range rover fantom new model 2022 with integrated aircraft propeller
ua-cam.com/video/knHqeO8OiBw/v-deo.html
Now, if they could finally build a Rover that’s not at the shop 5 or 6 times a year. It’s kind of baffling in today’s world. If only Lexus would make a true competitor without the constantly goofy exterior styling
@@993mike You`re right on both statements.
I adore the rear design. It is quite brave of them to go for the simpler look on a model which I believe commands respect in a more intimidating way. Now though, it is obvious they are rolling with the times and also implementing the new clean design language that will probably be the trend for this decade. When the German manufacturers (Looking at you, BMW) also get on board with the simpler design language it is going to be a blast.
It looks like it was designed by a Chinese who liked to go shopping at ikea. It’s obvious they’re getting people ready for the electric range rovers with this design and it’s all about efficiency.

Range Rover has always been about simple design.
I find the whole thing rather bland and uninteresting - particularly that rear end. We have different tastes obviously.
Honestly this is what a Cullinan should've looked like.
Interesting perspective. I see a lot of Cullinan in this new design.
@@SuperEtab Well they're both square.
Sadly some people (with lots of money) don't really care about looks but simply pay for the name!
sadly however… its amazing how all these years and all the attempts… nothing comes even remotely close to the RR even aesthetically, let alone all the rest!
Who now regrets squandering all those extra thousands on a Cullinan now?
Beautifully done video, the most detailed description of the resurrected legend on UA-cam
The rear is a little WEIRD, but i like it
Thank you 😉
Basic is more like it

Nailed it once again Henry & Co. Just the right balance of tech-spec, news and design commentary. Bravo!
First Time in my life I would love to own a Range Rover.
The best preview I’ve seen so far. Superb.

50 years and it’s the 5th gen: that’s Jaguar’s schedule
It's well designed
Lada is still on some of their first designs... you don't need to update perfection unless something goes outdated...
To be fair the first gen took up half of that.
@@UKfromadrone You appeared to mention Lada and the word "perfection" in the same sentence without even a hint of sarcasm or irony. That's quite impressive.
@@wasdwasdwwasd And it's still in production even though the 2nd generation P38A Range Rover is already on the market.
What a relaxing and well presented review. I really do enjoy watching this guy. Thank you
another excellent car review, love your work
One word: reliability. If they improve upon this aspect, I would easily consider a RR. Until then, there are more reliable alternatives.
That was a quite excellent technical and variants summary Henry - very professional and comprehensive. Thank you.
This channel doesn't make car reviews, they make car movies. There's something so beautiful in the presentation and speech, unlike any other channel.
Thank you.. tired of waiting during the official live stream (music concert) and you already have it reviewed.. good job...
It's part of the cars brand management. Product launch followed by non-critical reviews from your favourite journalists.
Yes beautiful. I'd love to own one. Although they haven't enjoyed much reliability over the last few years. If they have sorted that then it will be a truly wonderful experience
I've heard reliability has drastically increased ever since the Tata takeover. That is probably in large part due to the fact that they're built from the ground up as Land Rovers, instead of as parts-bin cars from Ford or BMW. And, it's also a basic fact that as time passes, manufacturers do learn how to better engineer & build cars, hence why new cars are more reliable than old cars. Today, JLR's reliability is on-par with the industry standard German luxury brands like Mercedes or Audi.
Unfortunately for Land Rover (and Jaguar), they earned a very bad rap for reliability in the 80's & 90's with cars such as the P38. Even if the cars really have gotten better over the decades, their reputation has gotten anything but.
Great review. Where did you get the torsional rigidity info? I especially love the new RR’s back.
Brilliant review Henry
Absolutely magnificent......what more to say!
Superb looking piece of design. Honestly this reminds me of past Mercedes and BMW design ethos (we are going way back now). Not in the way it looks, but the fact that it’s restrained, handsome, classy looking. Restrained brilliance. I love it. Nothing else in its class comes close design wise.

What a brilliant review thanks. Mine’s ordered just a few months to wait! Very exciting, the current model is brilliant, but by the look of this new model they’ve ironed out all of the existing problems, small as they are. Roll on May 2022.
Congratulations. Did you get your new car? Do you like it?

Monied farmers. Working farmers are Defenders every time
Most farmers are in Mitsubishi L200 or Isuzu D Max round me no one considers JLR as a viable option.
Love it! Great styling!!!
Great review !!!
Stunning review, stunning car. Thanks!
Tightest shut lines in the business.
Oh my days! That thing is beautiful...every time I think they've hit peak, JLR just outdoes itself. I'll have mine in that champagne colour with black wheels thank you very much!

Jeez, how havent I heard of you before? Really high quality review and format
Have a look at the Bugatti Chiron videos, I think you might really enjoy them.
From the series: "Cars I can't afford." :D
this looks amazing, like it's machined out of a single block of aluminium. such clean design with few key lines that make a striking car, truly futuristic.
when the production version looks like a concept you know you've made it as a design department
Great review
Well done for this no-nonsense review!
I love all RR product but there’s more than a hint of Cadillac or Lincoln in those vertical rear tail lights… great if it helps car to sell in USA I guess, but could be accused of being a little lazy.
Simply stunning design IMO 😍
Absolutely love it!
Awesome video
I might accept this if someone comes with an anti-spyware modification. The alexa integration does not suit a gangster.
Obsessed with these. Maybe I’ll be able to afford a used one in 6 years 😂
probably not with the out-of-warranty repairs and maintenance!
jltolli yea exactly. Think the only smart way to own a rover is with a warranty
It’s best to lease a rover imo. You don’t have to deal w all those repairs coming out your pocket and you get a new one in three years!:/
Really enjoyed this presentation.
Very comprehensive review utilising the new car to illustrate it.
That taillight trick has me wanting to put a 🔦 up to a road reflector to see how it looks from different angles
Henry, you've done it again! Another exquisite introduction to a grand vehicle - this time the New Range Rover. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn that manufacturers are wrestling each other to have their vehicles next in line for their Carfection moment. Thank you, Henry, for being both thorough and entertaining at the same time. 👍
I LOVE THE REVIEW
Great review! That's some car.
Great video as always Henry! As a serial Range Rover owner, I think the gen 5 raises the bar yet again. As I watched the video it struck me that it must pretty well terrify Exec’s in the Boardrooms of other manufacturers! A tour de force IMO!
As a serial owner I bet you're no stranger to standing by the road side bonnet up waiting for Dave the the break down guy, whom you now know by first name, and enjoying a trip in his truck which weirdly enough is a similar size to the range so oddly familiar
@@vonshlep5451 And as a youtuber commenter talking shit, I can imagine you've never owned one and are basing your opinion on other people that you've only talked to on the internet. I've had mine for 3 years with no issues whatsoever, as have my friends. Pipe down.
@@evns7142 you're right indeed, I've never owned one. And why would I, its a car that is vastly oversized for British roads let alone car park spaces. Why get so defensive?
It's only a car, it does exactly what my 2006 Ford focus does, nothing more nothing less. (Except my focus has a heated windscreen)
@@vonshlep5451 it’s more the principal about having an opinion about something that you’ve never had first hand experience in. If you’ve never had a Range Rover/ owned one for multiple years, then your opinion isn’t credible at all. Go talk about 2006 Ford Focus’, not range rovers.
@@evns7142 I have eye's, and they don't lie. Range rovers break down, more so than other similarly priced cars. Of this you surely can't disagree
I wouldn’t be seen dead in one of these - it’s the antithesis of what I look for in a car - but for all that, hats off to JLR, they have clearly done a fantastic job with the latest iteration - evolution not revolution. They had a winning formula that didn’t need to be reinvented but needed to be refreshed / updated and that’s exactly what they’ve achieved - in spades. Some other car manufacturers out there could learn a lot from that (couldn’t they BMW…?)
So you are poor and don't care about aesthetics. How sad.
@@jandersen6802 I expressed a personal opinion about an inanimate object. What I don’t do is take pot shots at people on social media. You can disagree with me without making derogatory comments about who I am as a person. I have no idea what motivates people to make things personal. Please try to avoid that in future.
@@tcaudiobooks737 Many thanks for your comment - my original comment never mentioned cost - or aesthetics - so I think J Anderson misunderstood - I like cars that are low to the ground and the Range Rover is about as far from that as you can get ! So it’s not my thing at all but I can still appreciate that the folk at JLR have done a fantastic job - I’m sure the new version will sell like hot cakes - for what it is, it’s brilliant and probably best in class (again).
@@alasdairstuart3394 Yeah, I think the same. Range Rovers are the very best at what they do... they're just not for me.
First class and vert informative review
Henry is so great!
As a Range Rover owner I already get nervous about the “over the air” updates, because undoubtedly there comes a moment where it goes wrong and your car won’t start anymore.

Car design really is getting very good. I love the way JLR has cleaned up the exterior, whilst still retaining the distinctive look of the Range Rover, and the rear end treatment is quite stunning. The engineering sounds pretty impressive too. All in all, a very classy-looking SUV.

I’m still in love with the boxy design of the 2003-2012 model, the new shape is too modern for me but I love the technology and advancements Land Rover have made! Kudos.
Now you can get one of those but only if they don't keep their old ones even after they buy this new one. People love their Rovers older or new.

Great video, thanks!
Loving the clean design of the car. It looks like a single piece of material like a sculpture.
It's unfortunate that Land Rover's stock rims are still hideous, but one can save the car with a set of Vossens.
The first and probably best review! As a long term Land Rover owner, this looks good to me..lots of technology which I hope is fully understood by the dealerships…..it will be very impressive! Did it need to be bigger though??Next job, time to upgrade the Range Rover Sport which is getting dated now…roll on that one as well!! 😃😃😃😃

Incredible video but I have a production question - I can’t help but notice a lot of popping in the audio and Henry wearing his lav very low. Was this by design? Perhaps to catch the cavernous echo of the space to give the audio impression of size and spaciousness? Perhaps the two aren’t even related. Just curious, thank you.

Are there any owners here that can attest to reliability?
I think beyond the flash and style, the past couple of
models were burdened with quality issues.
I've had a few of them. The first was a nightmare, an L322 TDV8. But the more modern models have been an absolute pleasure to own and drive (3.0 Diesel and P400e).
I own a 2018 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4L V8 Diesel. Overall it is an amazing car, just brilliant to drive and relaxing. But there are sometimes some weird software glitches and I had a problem with the aircon noise in the back. Everything fixed very quickly by my garage. Nothing really too bad, nothing that would leave you on the side of the road. Can't wait to see this new model in the flesh but might wait for the first deliveries to see how's reliability doing
I think you mean 33,000nm/deg for torsional stiffness, not 33.
I love it. Looks fantastic
That’s a beautiful design Land Rover!
