- It always happens this way, everything works fine until company is visiting. Grandma Judy flew in from Oregon to stay with us for a week in our "semi private" guest room. We told her not to worry because we have been able to keep the house at a comfortable 70 degrees. On the day she arrived we just could not get the wood stove to draft properly, our only thought was that the screen on the chimney cap was plugged up with creosote. In this video we work through that problem as well as complete some other homestead chores.
Watch a former Firefighter and a stay at home Mom carve out an Off Grid Homestead in the North Idaho Wilderness. Come along on our journey towards freedom and independence not just for us but many Generations to come, all to the glory of God.

Oh what fun. So love the laughter and the way you to communicate. Amy you’re doing a great time videoing. I’m sure Judy is staying warm, just give her another pair of socks and a heavy sweater. So glad the group is up there celebrating your Birthday.
I hope Granny is doing good. That's a lot of snow ❄️❄️
You're going to love snow all winter. At some point you will want to run-a-way in the winter. Getting older will not help with loving snow. Fun to watch!
I am sure it will get old at some point, but so far it's been beautiful and fun.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Yes the joys of winter ! I built a wooden ladder that fits over the peak so I can walk up my tin roof in in winter & clean chimney from the top :) & yes you only need the cap in summer to keep the rain out, Be careful with the avalanches they can hurt ! You have snow like we do except we are -38c this morning way in the north here ! Stay warm be careful"
Thanks for the tip
Good fix. Way to go.
Thanks
Nice video so happy you got the fire going again and the snow plowed
It was a tough day but the wood stove is working great now.
i did not want to rake yards or cut grass so i concreted my property and painted it green to please the neighbors. the wind and rain keeps it clean!!!!! wow, i just woke up from my dream!! the only problem i do not have is the snow. may God give yall the strength to persevere.........g
Thank you!
I haven't seen that much snow for a long time, but you can keep it 😉.
We are setup well to handle the snow so we can enjoy the beauty of it without the worry.
LOL Yea I am SURE Amy will go up there. Good Luck with that. Watching you wind up for that over the house throw thought you were David with his sling
🤣Amy is getting more comfortable with heights but I do not think she will be on the roof anytime soon.
Oh boy! Good times! 😁
Thanks for watching
The snow is beautiful. But it looks like a lot of work. Stay safe
Thanks! It is a lot of work, but so much fun.
Now I know why we don't have snow. You took it all away from us.
That's funny, where are you at?

I’m a little jealous with all the snow… all we’re getting is rain😢
Glad you got the wood stove working again.
The snow is beautiful, wee have had almost a week of full sun too. that and the longer days are great for our solar.
