    3:44 was such a help! For some reason people on the forums make this job out to be painful. You made it easy for me. Thanks!!!

    We looked at a bunch of videos that were not easy to understand like this great one. We used these instructions from John to order the first aid kit and repair one shade in our Class C, with great success. So easy to understand what is being done, the way he shoots it and talks about it. That teaching background makes all the difference! Thanks a bunch.

    I guess we'll all have to revisit this video at sometime. It is well done and very informative

      Glad the video is helpful. Hopefully you won't have to do this, but it isn't too bad to tackle.

    I got through all the pleats at once! by taping each string to a long tapestry needle. I used less than an inch of tape and started just below the eye, wrapping it around string and needle very tightly diagonally away from the point to make a thin , smooth profile. John you really covered all the details in a short, efficient video. Thanks again - the shade is up and working

    Following your video, I managed to repair our RV cellular blinds. I had difficulty sliding the bottom rail and had to push the metal part instead of the plastic rail to get it out. Also, by using rubber bands at each end, I found it easier to push thru the strings from top to bottom rail quickly. The strings that came with the pleated shade first aid kit is much thicker than the ones I replaced. I hope that doesn't cause me any future issues. If it does, I'm not sure where I can find the right size. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, the video is well organized and easy to follow.

    I only have one question, once you fed the string through, you didn’t show anything about the crisscrossing, and hooking up the spring! So I am confused on which ones on each side, get hooked up to what spring!

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Рік тому

      At time stamp 3:20 for about 30 seconds I cover the spring issue. Then at time stamp 5:00 I cover attaching the new strings to the springs at the headrail. You need to reference the stringing pattern from 3:20 when doing the process starting at time stamp 5:00. As far as crisscrossing the strings in the bottom rail, simply take the two strings on the left and move them to the right in the bottom rail and the opposite with the right two strings. Sorry if that part wasn't as clear in the instructions.

      The diagram he showed on the video explains about the crisscrossing. Basically one side goes on the opposite direction and the other goes the other direction.

    Pro tip : hold the blind up and rubber band it. This way everything lines up and makes it super easy.

    I need more info on the spring situation. I found only 1 spring in my header. I have no idea if the other one went missing along with the half missing string. You show one spring longer than the other. If I can find a longer spring, does it go on the outer or inner strings? The instructions also show only 1 spring.

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Рік тому

      My shorter spring is attached to the outer cords @ 3:34 in the video. The longer spring is attached to the inner cords. Not sure why yours would only have one spring. Some shades may only have one vs two springs.

      @@JohnMarucci I think the other spring may have gone missing when the cord broke. I'm not the first owner, so who knows what the previous owner did. Thank you for the reply.
