  • UC Santa Cruz alumna Leticia Quezada (Psychology, 1975) co-founded Grupo Folklórico Los Mejicas, one of the oldest student-run organizations at UC Santa Cruz, and the first Ballet Folklorico in the UC system.
    Quezada was the first Latina to serve on the Los Ángeles City Board of Education, as well as its first Latina President. She also made history when she became the first Latina to serve on the Los Ángeles Community College Board of Trustees in 1985.
    Quezada also has ten years of experience in the private sector having served as Manager of Hispanic Marketing and Community Relations for Nestle USA. She also served as President & CEO of the Mexican Cultural Institute in LA.
