Great video man! Very helpful as I am trying to decide what housing to purchase for a trip to French Polynesia soon. If you buy the dome option, does it come with a normal flat ring to give you the option? Or do you need to buy the regular + the dome add-on to have both?
It’s one or the other! I do recommend the some option to get that half underwater half above water look though

@@HoustonBass Glad I could help! I actually traded in the larger 180mm dome for the smaller 120mm dome and used it on my latest trip to Tulum. Much more travel friendly
@@HDBnB1 what’s the difference optically between the two? Widow fov or less distortion?
I personally haven’t noticed any difference in quality.
Were you able to get half in the water half out of the water shots with the 120 mm dome as well? Was it worth the trade off for the portability?
It was worth it. I would say just make sure to triple check that everything is sealed and no water is getting in first
Did you try again this summer? Any problems with other water drops?
Last time I tried was in Mexico! I have some footage in my latest Mexico video if you want to check that out! I swapped the dome for a 67mm filter thread and had no issues with drops!

Well that depends on the quality you’re looking for. Underwater with a high quality camera is my preferred method if you want high quality shots. The difference is noticeable in my opinion but might not be noticeable to others
