The defense is playing extremely well and the offense, in my opinion, will keep getting better. Also, the Vols seems to be able to play multiple styles whether it's hurry up, slow it down, run, big play, or play the clock and kick field goals. If they keep improving, the Vols could be a legitimate not just playoff, but championship contender.

Coach Heupel could have pushed harder and ran up the score but at what price? More injuries? Turnovers? This was smart football played in an emotional atmosphere. Im really suprised they contained there emotions as well as they did for 4 quarters. This was a textbook example of game management maturity. It showed exceptional restraint and professionalism. I understand needing to protect your QB and playing with backup tackles, but I expect more innovations to create match-ups. Halzle needs to have more in the bag for these types of scenarios. RB screens, TE screens, draws, personnel and formations. We aren't the first team in football history to have to play with backup tackles. They could have put Bru, Ethan Davis, and Staes in trips and ran WR screen and fake WR screen and go to Davis to force Oklahoma to declare and lighten the box.
My fav part of this team is when OU got the ball on their own 3-ish yard line I thought "this defense could get a safety" and wham bam we did on the first play, Go Vols

We could have easily in the late third and 4th quarters with OU's gassed defense. We simply did not need to though.
