Thank you for spending so much time making your wonderful videos. You give us so much pleasure. That is the reason we hold you in high regard. Thank you for taking us along.
Of all the reality shows out there (and I watch very few), yours is the only one that doesn't have a bunch of drama built in. No smashed fingers, bad language, or confrontations with neighbors. Just honest craftsmanship and honest talk about your craft and what ever may be on your mind. That is just one of the many reasons I love and appreciate your shows. Keep em coming Dave.
I can't say I have done more than watch, but I am loyal. I appreciate your "boring" "mundane." I have, more than once, commented, I think your talents and abilities are far above average. I learn something from you every week. May God bless you with the time, energy, passion, and health to continue with your work. Thanks!
I think it has been a humbling experience for those that watch your videos as well as yourself, thank you for all that you do as you have left your mark on all that watch you.
To me the work you do is not what I'd call ordinary, your are an artist and a true craftsman. I enjoy watching and learning. I enjoy watching all that you do and the comments that you share with us and giving us a glimpse into your life. Thank you for sharing with us viewers.
We yearn for the mundane and everyday experiences in these extraordinary times. It's always, ALWAYS, the little things that matter most. I have the utmost respect for craftsmen/women the world over, and I’m humbled by the sacrifices they've made in the service of the human experience. They and their ilk built this great country and indeed our modern world. And it is they who will undoubtedly be called upon to rebuild civilization again someday.
Don't sell yourself short, found your channel about a year ago, occasionlly enjoy sitting down with you to watch a wagon video. From me to you, a very humble, THANK YOU.
Thank you for all of your hard work and sharing a part of your life with us. Thank you for the reminder that gratitude for the mundane is a powerful antidote to the unreal modern world.
I would like say Thank you along with everyone else. Your videos have given me the courage to get back into the woodshop. I hurt myself really bad and couldn't bring even begin to think of going back to woodworking. But seeing the great enjoyment the woodworking brings you has encouraged me to return to woodworking. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and soul.
It's nice to watch something as down to earth as your carriage shop, no drama or bs. Thanks for taking your time to show us a part of history, not really ordinary in the least.
I do enjoy your videos very much, never boring. You take us to the past on how carriages were hand built. Thank you. Keep up the great and professional work that you bestow upon your viewers.
Dave, This video and your comments while being ( as you say) simple and mundane…is one of the most powerful and real life things I have ever read. Thank you!!! For you.
I can only thank you for being "normal" and sharing all these interesting projects with us. I do not see you as normal because in my humble opinion your are a gifted man, your hands can build and repair things that I find incredible and enjoy all the time. So a big thank you to you and your lovely wife Diane for making all this possible and I hope we can be part of your lives for a long time yet.
Dave, You showed us, and you taught us, and illustrated on how to perform welding and lathe operations, You are truly a great and skilled craftsman ! John, Michigan
Thank you Dave and Diane for what you bring to all of us, the life you have decided to share with us. I am not a wheelwright but you have taught me through your videos many things I can pass to others and that to me is what I’m thankful for. Thank you for the videos and sharing the “mundane” things, it’s all a part of life.
I want to stop in and say thank you to you, Dave and Diane for the entertainment and watching a true craftsman do his thing. It is a pleasure to watch you work and listen to your words.
Thanks for the normal, down-to-earth, common-sense way of talking and showing your skills and work. Your video's are a moment of relaxation in a hectic world and it is really appreciated.
I look forward to your videos each week and enjoy them no matter the content. So happy for you and Diane and congratulate you both on 47 years. It's so good to see folks who have maintained their vows and worked together through the hard times. Keep up the great videos and may HIS BLESSINGS continue to you folks. Stay safe, Fred.
I thank you for a time of peace in my life, I have enough bad health and angry people to last for all time. I have been married for 50 years, and the dear Lord told me to step back and he would teach my husband. Boy, is he getting lessons, he even told me it is hard to learn when you are old, but it is better to learn now than to face Christ with what you have refused to learn and then pay for it then. Thank you for the peace you bring and verifying there are peace, loves and kindness.
Another few minutes that I really enjoyed. For us it was a horse and toboggan on an open field. We had great neighbors when we were kids, out in the sticks, urban life is something different. My wife and I have only been together 50 years, it's been a great adventure so far. The fun continues. Thanks for sharing. Boring is good.
I lived in Idaho Falls for 15 years I loved that part of the country. We moved to North Carolina in 1987 I think I have watch all your video’s. Sometimes I rewatch some of them.. I had the opportunity to see a lot of Montana Wyoming and Idaho. I love all your skills
I really enjoy your videos! I like to watch people that are good with their hands and minds. You seem to a kind and gentle person. We need more people like you. Stay warm and safe.
Ordinary guy, ordinary work, boring. I think not. Listening to your thank you to us I think back to all the times I have owed you a thank you. I hope they have all been given but if not this one covers the missed ones. Thank you for all the entertainment, thank you for all the education, thank you for all the interesting stories, thank you for all the items too many to iterate. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Why do I enjoy your vlogs so much? Because you are an accomplished craftsman, honest to a fault and project the solid values of our American culture in its heyday. Wishing you and Diane a fruitful 47th year on planet earth!
My daughter is less than an hour south and my Grandparents are at rest in Billings. This COLUMBUS guy would trade his SawStop for that old Cincinnati saw. Love your program!
Excellent. Very well articulated brother! We all need to take time and strive to enjoy the mundane things in life. That's where real memories are made. Thank you for your videos.
Dave your contribution is far more than ordinary. I do so appreciate your effort to contribute your knowledge and exceptional skill to the world. I wish you and Diane the very best in your life.
Well, I feel that it is us the viewers who should be thanking you, the Engels couple. After all, you are the ones actively producing interesting content that we are passively benefiting from. My sincere thanks for Diane in the backstage and you Dave as an exceptional showhost.
I found this video just as interesting as one of your videos about building a wheel. Your content isn't interesting only because of the subject, it's because of you and your attitude too. You have lots of practical experience and also a nice outlook on life that we are lucky you share with us. I'm happy and thankful to be able to learn from it. Also, thank you very much to Mrs Engel for all your unseen hard work.
Yep, know just what you're talking about. My wife and I just celebrated our 55th four days ago. Stuck in Denver, your my escape. Love what you're doing.
You're welcome, and thank you (both)! There might be many other wrights like you, but it doesn't seem like it; so I appreciate that you and your brother in law are continuing a tradition that may not be around after another generation or two...or maybe sooner than that. I hope you have apprentices! It is the authenticity of your videos that keeps me coming back. Best wishes....
I enjoyed this video. You are right, the mundane is very much a part of life. The difference is the peace that reigns in your life. That makes life worthwhile.
i for one, appreciate this window you have given us into to your profession and, recently, your other ventures like the tank for your cattle, the fencing and the old hotel renovation. it's always fascinating to see how the wagons go together, and the processes of involved.
Ordinary and mundane from a truely extraordinary gentleman.
