What a classy farewell speech by Paul Maurice, and he said it better than anybody
could, that he took the team as far as his energy and talent could. I believe he gave
a 100 % commitment, but fell short of winning the big prize. Who knows ? after he
takes a mental break, he'll resurface again like Sutter, and Boudreau and Torts did.
I wish this man all the best, a true class act when he speaks.

I echo many of the other comments that have already been made about Paul Maurice. What a class act! He goes to Winnipeg on a 4-month trial and he's there for 8 years and he feels like he has to apologize for leaving.
Well done, sir! You are the best of us when all we see these days is the worst of us. Thank you.

It's so hard to do what Paul Maurice just did... to put your ego aside and admit hard truths goes against our human nature, and that tells you everything you need to know about Paul as a person. I've always had tons of respect for him as a coach and I really hope for the jets and their fans this is the jolt the team needs.

From a Flames fan...Always liked Paul Maurice in post game interviews, and I'm so old I remember the WHA Jets that were so awesome. The 80's Oilers had nothing on that team in my opinion. Hull, Hedberg, Nilsson....great team. If Flames can't get a cup I have no problem if the Jets do! The city deserves it! Wishing Mr. Maurice all the best. Classy guy.

I'm such a casual NHL fan (from Minnesota) that I've never even HEARD of Paul Maurice before (I'm more of a fan of boys and girls high school and college hockey). But, my god, what a thoughtful gentleman! He reminds me a lot of the current Wild head coach and GM who also seem to be a pair of talented men of integrity.
I do follow the Wild enough, though, to know that a Jets team playing up to, or above, expectations is baaaad news for the Wild!
