For those not aware of what was causing Hydra's mobility issues, Jake explains in the post fight interview his bot's speed controllers were overheating.
hydra never started moving again tho, they need to get their eyes checked. he was just stuck on floor a bit and it looked like it was controlled movement, but it wasn't. on side's speed controllers broke completely, they dont just start working after breaking, they either work or dont work. judges just got fooled by what looked like controlled movement.
@@SethiozProject Well now you can see why they've got rid of the whole controlled motion thing for the newest regular season cos its so vague and not clearly defined so that's gonna be a bonus moving forwards tho not for the teams as it means they will have to spend even more time and $$$$ fixing between battles as their bots will now have even more damage they will need to repair.

Hydra dominated the early fight on control, but could have been counted out at the end there (and perhaps should have been), whereas WD was still mobile despite smoking. Honestly I think WD suffered so much this season due to their weapon cracking and damaging themselves.
They said they used a new material for the weapon, one that promised to brake other ones armors easily because of its density. But that was the main issue: the weapon it was too dense, so that augmented a lot its brittleness.
This was a spectacular fight. The power in that weapon shows Hydra basically took Flippers to the next level! If only there were a few more like it. In different body and flipper designs too.
He clearly just had something stuck underneath him... You can see him moving forward and the flipper got stuck in the floor board. It seems like you need glasses just like the judge Jason! lol

Yes, it is already, but drum spinners seems to be their kryptonite (I said, Tantrum, Minotaur, Glitch…). I don't think Endgame was able to win when they faced them last year, they just were pretty lucky that Hydra showed driving issues the whole season.

@@Al3xceptional I’ve seen countdowns for “not moving”. They’re completely immobile. Hydra was limited in its movement but it wasn’t completely immobile. WD ran away, stayed at a distance waiting cuz it was scared.
They could have had a scoop or something under their drum and then just go straight at him and scoop his flipper right into the drum, bending it or ripping it clear off.
Not really. They win on ground using their weapon and that's usually more effective than using forks (I say, it's Bite Force, Minotaur, Deathroll, Tantrum and now Glitch's strategy). This time it was because WD weapon failed early because of its density.

On Bite Force the attack system it's "the weapon and the wedgelets" not "the wedgelets, then the weapon", making the attack to take effect by just hitting rather than "shove and hit" like Endgame. Drum spinners as Minotaur and Copperhead usually tend to destroy the ground scraping meta, while the other one it depends entirely on the first hit being always a 50/50 situation, which its better. To me, the forks system it's like the covered wheels: they can help but just in specific situations. Having an exposed weapon usually it's better because it simplifies the action, because you must just to go to make a hit, not like the forks system, where you need first to win the ground to make a successful strike.
I think what make WD loses is the smoke, making refree and judge hard to see what happens and making WD looks weaker than it should be. Hydra clearly stop moving but bcs of the smoke they cant see it and refree counting it too late..
Hydra did too well in the main championship, and thus didn't have time to compete in the (simultaneously filmed) golden bolt tournament. They delayed everything to let Tantrum and Witch Doctor in, being the winner of the 2021 Giant Nut and the WD Bounty respectively.

Most flippers would likely be powerful to do it as far as strength goes, afaik the weight limit for wheeled robots is just 250lb (113kg). The challenge is mainly making a good contact, since you can't really field a wedge design in Battlebots nowdays, as the profile would make it a very easy target for the powerful spinners. WD is very short and front heavy due to it's weapon, meaning hydra's profile is almost a perfect match. WD's weapon spins upward to launch others, meaning it's weapon would make it move down rather than up (unless flipped).
i think those people are blind, hydra never started moving again, they lost one side's drive, that movement was still only using one side, he moved slightly forward only because he was bit stuck on the floor and it looked like he went forward, but it was not controlled movement, i dont know why he stopped the count and why they saying he started moving again, because he didnt.

The count should have continued. He still had no controlled movement and was dead in the water. This should have never gone to the judges.
