what is D10, D30 & D60 || Particle size distribution

This video shows about the different terminologies used in soil mechanics such as D10, D30 and D60. The soil mass composed of different particles and these terminologies help to differentiate between different particle sizes. For example, For D10= 4 mm means that 10% of particles are smaller than 4 mm size and 90% are greater than 4 mm, Similarly D30 shows that 30% of particles are smaller than specific particle size while 70% are greater than that.
