Level 02 The Circus

About the game:
Ian Livingstone's Deathtrap Dungeon is an action-adventure video game developed by Asylum Studios and published by Eidos Interactive for PlayStation and Microsoft Windows in 1998. It is based on the adventure gamebook Deathtrap Dungeon (the sixth in the Fighting Fantasy series) written by Ian Livingstone, and published by Puffin Books in 1984.
The game is a third-person action-adventure, with the player taking the role of an adventurer (either the Amazon "Red Lotus" or the Barbarian "Chaindog"), who at the invitation of a wizard explores a series of dungeons and must overcome both monsters and traps to find riches.
About the run:
Its almost impossbile with these controls to have a flawless playthrough without bumbing into the walls or similar mistakes. Anyway I got a fairly decent run of this Level, which is already pretty difficult. Unfortunatly I forgot to get the Silver Sword of the second ring so I had a bit of trouble fighting with my regular sword against the undead. Overall I am satisfied that I can move on to the next level of this game.

Thanks for this, i have many painful memories of this game, its good to see someone owning it.
Thank you! Tbh I was quite suprised how difficult this game gets entering the second level.
Basically if you run out of health potion you’re screwed.
Even in casual gameplay, you're pretty much screwed.
@@anonymousmcanonymous3055 Ah…
@@SunSheepOfLight I mean, you might rely on guns or spells, but... Yeah, it's risky.
@@anonymousmcanonymous3055 Not to mention bad jumping controls.
@@SunSheepOfLight Don't remind me. Controls (and AI in general but mainly pathfinding) are one of the major challenges when trying old games). I'm currently trying that PC port for Mario 64, who was universally praised, and I find the controls just very confusing. I dare not imagine speedrunning it.
And Mario is extremely lenient when it comes to jumps, Deathtrap Dungeon is NOT. You have to be perfectly aligned, set up and all... Just imagining it stresses me.
I rented and played Deathtrap Dungeon once. It was such a hard game to play/
