I foam-boarded mine inside for insulation. Leaving approximately 0.75" air space between inside of metal siding/roof. This was done after I ran wiring. Then covered walls and ceiling with a final surface. Used expanding foam in corners and wherever there was light coming in. Also placed conduit in the floor below concrete to avoid drilling into sheet metal sides, worked beautifully! Off-set the garage doors (opposite walls, opposite corners) to save on usable space inside. Did NOT use the "bubble wrap insulation" very low "R" value for the money and deteriorates over time. Was able to insulate entire building with foam board for less than it would have cost to insulate only the roof with the Bubble insulation. Nice job on the video!
Jim Cole thank you! And sounds really nice would like to see some pictures of yours inside for some ideas. I just ran electrical and I’m getting ready to insulate and looking for ideas. Was gonna spray foam but way to pricey. I’m not sure about the bubble insulation your talking about I’ve never heard or seen that. Why the air space? You heating it too?
@@YamRida468 Yes, theres heating. A "dead" air space contributes to the insulative value or "R-value". I also bought tubes of silicone caulk and sealed all seams of the siding from inside first to reduce air flow and moisture. The method I implemented seems to be the least expensive/most effective solution.
For a DIY insulation you can buy a froth pack and lay an inch of foam on the wall then add a the 1" insulation foam board. The use OSB board to cover it all up

Dan Carroll very cool! Yeah we always want bigger hahaha and I need to insulate mine to keep it warmer not colder lol I’m in Michigan where it gets to negative temps!

I don't feel so bad now looking at yours, The city I'm in only allows me up to 600 sq ft which is this size 24x25. I was a little bumbed out because I had my heart set on this sweet 26x35 but oh well. The only difference is they all me to go up to 12.5 ft tall so I'll be going with 12 ft walls.

The roll up mechanism is very similar to the type you lready have and they have power roll up doors too. Probably cost more tho.. The vertical siding layout is probably the best option.
Dana V yeah I looked into that as well but didn’t hear good things about it. I wanted a heavy insulated door as well. Can’t do that in a roll up and I have WiFi Access with my opener that’s side mounted so I have more room above

I"m assuming you had the concrete pad poured first. How did you figure the size of the pad to pour, and how much did that cost? What about during the summer, the heat in the garage?
I ordered a building from these guys recently and mine is 22x26 so they told me the pad has to be 3" longer on each side. The length will be one foot shorter than the roof length. So my pad needs to be 22' 3" x 25' 3" Hope that helps.

I’m probably going to go with Carport Center here in WA State and have the exact set up as yours with the same colors, with your garage door did you need any special brackets to install it?
Thomas Tarlton great question, before I ran power out there I just had it plugged into an extension chord but the garage door opener also has a battery that gets charged when plugged in. And when unplugged or if the power goes out the battery kicks on and can open and close the door a few dozen times from the battery only.
How do you like the compressor? was thinking of getting that one or the 8 gallon horizontal looking to use it at our camp to build a cabin with a frame nailer and maybe doing some raptor bed lining for on the roof of our camper.
Kenneth Hodge holding up great! No leaks or issues anywhere. Only cons would be it’s a little loud in there when it rains and windy but other than that I’m really happy
What size is that garage door?? or. What measurements did you give for the Frame Out?? I'm about to get a 24 x 25 just like that. I like the one big door idea.
You might want to squirt some oil on your garage door torsion springs, it'll get rid of the clunking noise when the door starts coming up plus the door will operate alot smoother too
I was thinking about metal 24x36 garage as well. I was just wondering how is it with the snow? Does the roof hold the weight of all the snow? I'm worried about the roof collapsing. I'm in Wisconsin
CJ Reed thanks! And no other option it only goes higher up from there and I didn’t want my garage 100 feet behind my house but it hasn’t been bad it’s worked well
Could you say how much the concrete foundation cost? I am in Wisconsin about half and hour from Lake Michigan. I would like to build a workshop / garage. I have a Silverado 2500HD diesel, which I want to work on, along with other vehicles. I would like to have an in-ground car lift or a 2-post also.
BrewPub mine was cheap because I had some friends in the business and help it was only 2k. It’s 4” thick but if you wanna do a lift it would be more because you’d have to do thicker concrete and what not
hey did you have to pull any permits to get this put up? and also what gauge steel did you go with on the tubing and framing 14 gauge or 12? i think 14 is standard thanks
Did you order it with that door then have a company install the opener? I am here in Michigan too and dont see the 18x8 option for a regular type garage door.
I'd get a standard size window instead of the smaller one they offer. I saw a video from another guy who had to modify his window frame to enable the A/C until to fit.
I like it alot.I might get one exactly like yours in the near future. How big did you make your concrete slab?about 6 inches extra to the sides?24 1/2×25 1/2?
So you only did a slab and no footer? I'm very close to the Michigan border in Ohio and everyone has told me to do a footer because of the frost. Is it moving in the winter so far??? Curious because I would like to save some money and not do a footer.
5PointSlow I didn’t do one building isn’t that heavy. And I have my patio and driveway connectors to the slab. It’s not going anywhere lol. But yeah we have frost too
Thank you for the video. I'm in the process of locating a company to build one of these for me and your video helped understanding the process a bit better. Can I ask, how was the humidity over the last few months? I'm in Ohio and that's one of my biggest worries.
Casa De Leones no problem! And it gets a little warm for sure since it’s all metal and the sun bakes on it but not to bad with the doors and windows open
Why is this offset from your driveway? The front is partial butted up to your patio. Did you need the right side of your grave accessible with a truck?
ImYoutubing247 because I had to follow the setbacks and be 10ft away from the property line unfortunately. I wanted to go the same width as my driveway but couldn’t. And yes I made the right side so I could drive behind the garage
Lay down some landscaping fabric and gravel around the perimeter for proper drainage, also will keep sides of garage clean
Ron Topping that’s a good idea I’m gonna have to look into that in the spring thanks!

Whats the snow load rating for them??? Being metal i know a lot of times snow slides off but if they are not in the sun as much it will build up!
I’m not sure 🤷🏼♂️
This is a good, fair and genuine review 👍🏻
Kansas Cowboy thanks!!
In the process of building the same size building almost identical to yours actually. How much lexal did it take to seal the bottom like you did?
HouseOfThe8Strings very cool! And to do the inside and outside I want to say I used 5 or 6 tubes
@@YamRida468 Awesome thanks!
It matches your trailer good
Nice. Im about to order the same one. Is the roof Pewter grey too?
How do you like the compressor? was thinking of getting that one or the 8 gallon horizontal looking to use it at our camp to build a cabin with a frame nailer and maybe doing some raptor bed lining for on the roof of our camper.
CaptHwdy08 can’t beat it for the price! Haven’t used it a ton but every time I do it works great and has a lot of pressure
How is it holding up ...does it leak when it rain? What are pro or con
Kenneth Hodge holding up great! No leaks or issues anywhere. Only cons would be it’s a little loud in there when it rains and windy but other than that I’m really happy
@@YamRida468 thanks for the info look great
Kenneth Hodge thank you!
What size is that garage door?? or. What measurements did you give for the Frame Out?? I'm about to get a 24 x 25 just like that. I like the one big door idea.
Interceptor2500 thanks and it’s a 8x18 frame out and door
You might want to squirt some oil on your garage door torsion springs, it'll get rid of the clunking noise when the door starts coming up plus the door will operate alot smoother too
jaythegaragedoorman I always wondered what that noise was hahaha thanks for the tip! I’m definitely gonna have to do that now!
Where did you buy the garage door that’s 18x8?
I was thinking about metal 24x36 garage as well. I was just wondering how is it with the snow? Does the roof hold the weight of all the snow? I'm worried about the roof collapsing.
I'm in Wisconsin
disonesto I’m in Michigan and we get a lot of snow and it did fine in the winter, the angle helps it roll off a lot too
Beautiful corvette, sir!
Thank you!
How much was your total cost ?
Have you insulated it yet? If so, what did you go with?
I used batts but I’m gonna spray foam
@@YamRida468 Can you post a video when you do the spray foam, also will you be using closed cell or open cell foam?
@@99shadows66 yeah I will! And closed cell I believe
I love the structure. Not sure I would have cut the grade to run water into the structure. Maybe some landscaping to ease that grade a little.
CJ Reed thanks! And no other option it only goes higher up from there and I didn’t want my garage 100 feet behind my house but it hasn’t been bad it’s worked well
I came here for the garage info but when you opened it and I saw that Vette I became even more jealous!! Lol
I want a white C6 just like that!
80HD Projects hahaha thanks man!
Just bought a house and looking into a metal garage! Yours looks good! Did you end up doing the concert slab your self?
Nothing worse than a loud ruff, my dog has a loud ruff. Drives me nuts
ruff ruff!!
If you don't mind me asking what was the price on something like this?
Max 8k
Coffey's Garage Thank you!!
Get off the caulking, man!! Lol Nice garage and narration, good stuff. Any upgrades from when you posted till today 8/30/21?
Silicone around the outside of the Slab where the building does not overlap the slab to keep the water from seeping in...
Sweet
Great video- Does this need to vented? or does all the gaps on the corners enough to vent excessive heat from the sun?
Lenny Kibbs thank you! And yes there are vents up top as well where the roof meets the side
It’s 4” thick but if you wanna do a lift it would be more because you’d have to do thicker concrete and what not
Do you have footers under your concrete slab?
hey did you have to pull any permits to get this put up? and also what gauge steel did you go with on the tubing and framing 14 gauge or 12? i think 14 is standard thanks
FudgieG yeah gotta call your city and see what they say and it’s 14 gauge on the tubing!
@@YamRida468 ok thanks
Çok güzel garajlar bayıldım
Did you order it with that door then have a company install the opener? I am here in Michigan too and dont see the 18x8 option for a regular type garage door.
Aaron Smith have to custom order and no I got door and opener from a different company
What kind of building permits did you need?
angelfiggi every county and township is different honestly
Is there anyway you can help me. I’m trying to get info on putting a regular 2 car garage door up. The framing part I need assistance
Installers should be able to do it
Nice garage! Don't know if it was asked or not but, how much was the door installation?
Chris Ely thanks! And 2k with door
How is it holding up?
Hi did you need a permit on your town to build it
Yes
thanks
Hello, nice garage. I'm checking into one of these. What is your inside height? I have a two post lift and the posts are 11' 10" high. Thanks.
SuperJimbo68 10’ sides so you have to get taller sides
Think there would be any issue putting an a/c unit in that window?
tacklebahx no I don’t think there would be an issue
I'd get a standard size window instead of the smaller one they offer. I saw a video from another guy who had to modify his window frame to enable the A/C until to fit.
I like it alot.I might get one exactly like yours in the near future. How big did you make your concrete slab?about 6 inches extra to the sides?24 1/2×25 1/2?
pavichi 75 thank you! Slab is 25x26 so 6” all around
@@YamRida468 thanks gor your quick reply. How much did they charge you to make the slab?
pavichi 75 no problem and I had a buddy do it! Cost me 2k
But yeah we have frost too
@@YamRida468 thanks for getting back to me so fast. 👊 building looks good I'll be getting one here soon as the weather breaks.
5PointSlow no problem at all! And sweet you’ll be happy with it for sure
Nice Garage! What’s the cross section of your concrete pad look like? I’m in Ohio looking to have this exact set-up built.
J T wait what? Haha
@@YamRida468 -- Thanks!
Did you go with 14 gauge square tubing or 12 gauge
wesleysvt 14 gauge
Why is this offset from your driveway? The front is partial butted up to your patio. Did you need the right side of your grave accessible with a truck?
ImYoutubing247 because I had to follow the setbacks and be 10ft away from the property line unfortunately. I wanted to go the same width as my driveway but couldn’t. And yes I made the right side so I could drive behind the garage
Coffey's Garage that’s what I thought looks good man
ImYoutubing247 thank you!!
Looks nice.. but when I had my pole barn built they built it in two days and it was a 30x40x12 building
Love the color choice brotha! can’t go wrong!
Andy B thanks man!
Coffey's Garage no problem!!!
