Great tutorial, man. It will help me a lot. Tried do the carbs today before watching your video and it was all suffering with a very little result. Now I know I need a lower grit sandpaper to start and 2 more compounds and buffing wheels... I was trying to start with 400, then 600, 1200 and the white compound... And my carbs has A LOT of marks. Spent hours trying to remove them with no great success.
I used this stuff called Shine Seal. It’s good but apparently you have to reapply it every year or so and the product has an expiration of like a year.. so I think they expect you to buy it yearly and reapply. Which is stupid AF. Mines been on there for like 3 yrs and so far so good! Lol
What are you using for hardware/software to record video overhead and display it live on your phone? Is that a GoPro? It seems like a cool setup! Also, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is one of my favorite books.
***** I use a Hero 3+ GoPro and connect it to my iPad with the GoPro app. It connects through the internal wifi in the camera so you can see a live feed. It helps for framing since I don't have an LCD on the camera itself. It's a great app! oh Also! I use Velcro to stick the camera to the roof!! The Velcro has a sticky backing so I stuck one side to the back of my camera case and one side to the roof and stick it there! It's very useful. I actually stick Velcro all over the garage and when I can't use my tri-pod I just stick the camera onto the wall or wherever. It's great!
Saturdays Wrench great to know, thanks! I love following this project so far. I am doing a similar frame-up restoration on my dad's old 1966 Honda 305. I've never done anything like this before but I am thoroughly enjoying it. that velcro is a good tip too. I've just been using a tripod but I'm looking to do more detail vids. thanks for the tips!
***** Ya it's a crap ton of fun!! I really want to see this bike come together but I don't want to stop the process haha.. I guess I'll have to do another one when I'm done! Good luck with your project.

If you are struggling with the sand paper soda blasting is really the best way to go. It's faster less likely to cause deeper scratches etc.
Booyah!!!! I could apply my make up for when I go drag with that oil filter cover!
what clear coat did you end up going for? crappy tire has some brutal review on clear coats!

Where did you get those polishing compounds and wheels? I've got some of my own polishing to do on my CX!
