£75 and not only are they out of tolerance, but they don't come with the grippy points that Anderson used at this years matchplay. Great to see you keeping the review honest as always in spite of being sent them for free.
On a lighter note, "obviously you're not going to be throwing the packaging at the board". Think I found a new challenge for Worldwide darts :).

Big difference in weight . With the weight guarantee what is the margins allowed between the darts . Also the other day I said about the John lowe darts all you got was the barrels and a leather case for £59 I think where at least with theses you get some extras but what I can tell it's the same dart but painted black .so your paying around £40 more for these and there not even limited edition .they don't even come with the grip points that Gary users. This is why I like your reviews as you give a honest judgment of the darts
Its +/- 0.1g on the box but the difference was 0.2 so although its a small amount that we probably cant detect it is nevertheless out of the tolerance stated. I think its like a limited edition set without being limited, if it was then I would say the price was ok as often the limited editions can go up in value but although the whole package is very nice your still getting a basic Gary Anderson P3 dart which not so long ago was around £30 or thereabouts. :)
The only thing I don't like is the upscale packaging which probably puts the cost up $20 more than needed. Gotta say I think I like your dart reviews better than the other channels, really detailed and scientific plus love the graphics you use with all the specs. Thanks, subbed

I absolutely love these darts. Bought them on release and have thrown them probably 1000's of times now. No signs of real wear on the barrel. Still grippy. They are the most consistent darts for me so far and give my Stratos set a run for their money!

I’ve now had mine for about three weeks, throwing them 1-2 hours a day. Already the dry, grippy feeling of the black coating has dissapeared - its simply worn off and is very slick, in fact I feel a better grip in the old phase three darts.
I must say its dissapointing they wear that quick, considering the high price.
I dont have my set anymore, prefer the gold version really but does not sound so good that.
always wanted a set of andos! ill wait and see if he wins this world championship incase a 3 ring dart comes out

they seem to fly nice and true,just like the normal phase 3's,looks like a really nice collectors package.i was surprised by the big weight discrepancy,not something you normally see ,especially on such an expensive set. great review!

Hugo Hirsch i have got them as softdarts (18g) and as steeldarts with 22g so that they have the same diameter (6,6mm)
This brilliant review and Gary's amazing World matchplay are an amazing advert for these darts!! I've just got the dark thunder darts after seeing your review, I'll put on black stems and flights and called them Noir, no one will know the difference!
LOL yeah I dont think they would notice, cheers! I agree he performed well with them at just the right time so great for sales. Still its a nice overall package but its down to how much the individual puts a value to the whole thing, most just want the darts and that all, so something like the Black Thunder would have more appeal. Players names command more premium of course but its still something that you would need to consider carefully unless you had money to burn :)
Exactly, the top players derserve higher commission from darts sales the same as any game. Also just noticed the dark thunders are much closer weight matched, I think we can be sometimes dismissive of cheaper darts!
To me the weight matching is not so much an indication of quality soley but its more an indication of quality control. I am sure as they are making 1000's of barrels that no matter how precisely the machine cuts them there is very likely differences in the tungstens density, which will still mean even if they are cut with exact dimensions they could weigh different. Where the problem lies is in whoever packages the darts in the box. It often seems to me that they get two barrels exact or close and then dont bother to match the third one. If the box states they should be within +/- 0.1g then they should at least stick to that :)

Yeah it happens, I have had cheap and expensive sets that are mismatched but you would expect more quality control on the expensive sets :) Cheers! :)

I just had My new Noir darts today - 23 gr version. They are similar to the other phase 3, but I agree that the grip feels more "dry" to hold. I look forward to see how long that feeling lasts, as I feel My other phase 3 looses grip after a while of playing
It is now MY NEW FAVORITE SET!... even though I didn't have it yet.

Sweet review as always ;) I hv bought several Unicorn Gary Anderson Darts. I hv always been disappointed with the points. The grooves in the points hv always been poorly engineered (obviously Gary's on TV are immaculate!) I see in this edition the points hv no grooves at all. Happy dart throwing Darren .. ;)
Thanks mate! I think they were originally without the grooved points when Ando first used them but he wanted the grooved points putting back in, personally I am not really a fan of such points but its not something that bothers me much if they come with them :)
Sad that there isn’t the anderson grip point, but it is more standard now but it’s a ando set, so should’ve had the grip points imo...
I can live with out the grip points but I guess they should make the darts to be the same as what the player uses which means same points too :)

I am not sure but I think he started to use them with the normal points first and then switched back to the grip points. :)
I’ve got the dark thunder and these and the thunder are slightly thicker for me so prefer these

Hi, I am curious to why you label the dark thunder darts as "beginner's darts". As you mention these Noirs are very similar but what makes them superior? Apart from the box and price. I was just about to purchase the Noirs but taking a good look at the dark thunders now, not much in them.
I would not say they are superior as its almost the same dart, your paying more for the name and the box so go for the Thunders, cheaper and just as good :) They make a good beginners dart because its the sort of dart that can suit any style of grip and its not too slippy and not too grippy :)

Hi Darren, i have a queastion about black coated target points: Have sou ever used the Target storm points nano grip in black? If you did, did the black coating of them wear off? I currently use the target firepoints in black on my darts and they have worn off after only 1 month. I consider to buy a set of the nano grip points.

I have not tried the Nanos myself but I would be very surprised if it did not wear just as quickly.

I know you pay for the Dart not the packaging but it is nice to have something as nice as that when you are paying
£70+ for a set of darts I suppose it makes it feel like you are getting at least some bang for your buck....unlike some other manufacturers for the same price can give you just the barrels in a plastic bag

There is no denying its very nicely packaged and I think the whole idea is to make a deluxe version of the players darts but its still a basic ring grip style, but we always have to pay more for players darts anyway so even though its not cheap I think people will still be happy with the package as a whole. I just got some wasp powder, going to attempt to dust them tonight :)

I never videoed it. Last night after 9pm I gave them a good dusting but there was loads coming in and out still, so it was a quick hit and run. This morning it seems like its not had much effect. There is a few dead ones but still they are coming and going. I have dusted it 3 more times now so hopefully it will work :)

hahaha!!! I give it another good dusting but still seems a lot coming and going, so today I stuck one of those fly zapper bats in front of the hole, I taped the button down and left it there, they were not too happy and started to gather round it so I give them a good squirt with fly/wasp spray :) Tough little bugger they are!

Thats good to hear, you will keep improving but its difficult to say how good anyone will become, some people are very good straight away and others gradually get good over time and then there is people like me who stay rubbish for ever lol!

I love black coated darts and price....up there for sure. I'll give Unicorn a hand for their nice packaging, but we do have Dark Thunder for us light wallet holders :)
Anyway, any opinions about the new Seigo Asada dart Darren?
Yes they still look good and the packaging is very nicely done but its a pricey set, no getting away from that really. Its good to have alternative options though. May get some Asadas but not sure yet :)

Good review, I have only one question. The Noir Flights are plus size. The normal Ando flights are big wing size. His darts at the WM 2018 were standing up more. Did he use an other size flight??
Kai Timmer he used plus size against Cullen but he didn’t like them so he went back to big wing flights for the rest of the tournament

Not sure what I have spent just to use a set, could be around £60 but I have bought lots in the past that were just to play with and not for reviewing or collecting and years ago some sets like the Taylor Phase 5 were around £65 or more when they came out so that would be more than £65 in present day I guess.
I’m generally looking at simple darts wich don’t cost much, max 30 pounds. I really like the designa darts, alot of them are simple but proffesional designs and for a cheap price. I now throw harrows iconic darts wich were 15 pounds. Basiccaly a bristow/cross/durrant dart.

Darts Review Channel Sorry, forgot to ask if the grip on the Gary Anderson darts are different to the James Wade darts? Thought of buying the Wade ones but these look pretty grippy as well.
Its similar, the Wades may be a touch grippier.
Thanks to Target Darts, All the manufacturers are taking every ones eyes out with VERY expensive darts.

They don't really last 5 mins as the black fades easy.
These darts are £25 darts.
If one company gets away with it then they all follow suit, prices have risen recently for the manufacturing side because of some new laws in China and higher wage demands but even so the prices are still getting crazy!

Good review Darren. I bought some of these Ultra wing Noir flights through the week and have to say I'm not impressed. They tear so quickly and easily its unbelievable....and at 98p a set they're not cheap. Can you recommend a good quality big wing style flight? Cheers.

Thanks John :) I only used them in the review but I did think they were quite sharp when I hit my chin with them. Not really sure what if any advantage there is from them, a lot of the time poly flights perform the same to me, its just the size and shape that may have an affect on flight but the feature most people want is durability and although every flight wears no matter what some last better than others. I have always being happy enough with the Amazon and Ruthless standard shape flights myself :)
Amazon flights are excellent and super cheap, 10 sets for 3 or 4 pound and I feel better quality than most brands. Can't go wrong!

Yep, I definitely wouldn’t want to take them to the pub. I see these as more of a collectors item. I still have a set of original Eric Bristow darts. Shame I didn’t keep the case as they are worth more now than when I paid for them. 😯
Yeah with original case and packaging they would be worth quite a bit.

Terrible match weighting.
The only thing letting the quality score down really, if it was closer matched it would have been better but for the money it should certainly be closer :)
