they probably were walking and fell off the sandbank into the rip i blame them for ignoring the dangerous current signs but not getting back into trouble idk maybe they thought it was safe and they could go back in idk

Bondi Rescue is the closest I could ever get to the beach - my phobia of deep water and crowds are not a good mix. Love you guys
I looooove water and sun. Unfortunately, I take medication for Type 2 diabetes that makes me burn really easily. Twenty minutes in the sun, tops. And my legs don't work correctly anymore... also due to Type 2 diabetes. So, I live for watching these videos.

Here is some advice from an ex lifesaver:
If you are a visitor from overseas, and you cannot swim properly, and I mean swim the length of a 50m pool confidently, then our beaches are not for you. Never going into the water outside the lifeguard's red and yellow flags. It only takes 30 seconds to drown, and by the time you are missed, you are dead. White water is your friend, calm water means deep water, not safety. If you visit a beach that is not patrolled, do not go into the water, because there will be no one to rescue you. If you cannot speak English, watch the signs. Countries like Japan and China now have English as a compulsory subject at school so young people are usually pretty good with instructions. Older people are not. If you are a weak swimmer and you see your child in trouble, find someone else to help them, or we might be looking for two bodies instead of one.

I was caught in one when I was younger and still allowed to swim. It was very scary to not be able to know where you’re going and being pushed under the water like it’s a shut door. Luckily I was only in it for maybe 5 seconds before I was pulled into a safer part of that ocean. Phew 😅

I don't know a lot about Korea, but I guess unless you're from the coastal area, they have zero clue about how to behave in the water/ beach

As an immigrant, it’s nearly always immigrants who have no clear understanding of how to stay safe on the beach
There was a local, from my town, who got caught by a rip at the beach he'd been going to his whole life, and he drowned, just recently. He was an excellent sea swimmer aswell. Another friend drowned in Katherine Gorge, after he got a leg cramp from the icy water temperature. His girlfriend was frantically trying to hold onto him, but he was a dead weight, and he went under. You just don't always know all of the risks involved with water.

To be fair I can’t understand what he means either and I know English natively. Is his body language weird or just Australian.
he was saying “let go”, plus any of the movements he was making were to reposition the board to get to the other swimmers, not necessarily for communicating

It honestly doesn't take much to look at the signs and if there's an X or a line through a swimmer, you know that means NO swimming. They're not toddlers, they're teens and I'm pretty sure they know how to read signs.
