Another great video... The image of India is often of a crowded place.. But your video's show a side of India often not seen.. Wide and almost empty of people with forests, lonely mountains and long views into distant horizons.. :)
My favourite fort. I had stayed overnight twice at the small rooms near Mahadarwaza when I trekked there during my college days. Night stay is very thrilling as the surrounding wilderness comes to life at night, we could hear calls of different animals during the night. We found tracks of many animals around the main lake especially the pug marks of a juvenile leopard. All this was experienced by me in the year 2000, 18 years have passed by so fast. Keep up your hard work, your videos bring back the nostalgia of my trekking days.
Always enjoyed the stunning view of the Mahuli Pinnacles from the forests near Vashind but never been on the trek route. I thoroughly enjoyed this video, seeing the pinnacles up close, its quite treacherous I expect. Im too old perhaps to climb like you do but I certainly enjoyed the close up of what I could see from lower down. Great!
Hi Gautam, I appreciate your love towards forts, but as you can see in video at 2:29, you were taking the route which is absolutely not necessary, the easy route is available below the rock patch, this might affect the future trekkers. I don't have issue if you go by any other risky routes just don't show them in your videos.

Hey Gautam... I also love trekking and sometimes like u i also trek solo... Actully m planning to visit Mahuli fort with some friends so most of the responsibility is on me... So can u tell me how much time will it take to reach fort, to explore fort and to descend fort as our group will be around 6 to 8 trekkers ..... mahuli is an easy trek, you can visit every point but with less time of rest, climb is enduring and you will have to take short rest if want to visit every point :) climbing will take around 3 hrs casually and exploring another 2 hrs (only bhandargad and kalyan darwaja) with short rest. start early if possible
no i did not have time to visit palasgad. kalyan darwaja route is used rarely from vasind hence it is in oblivion. also kalyan darwaja steps are blown away at top and one has to climb bamboo to reach the top and it enters straight to bhandargad. I'll suggest used normal route via asangaon and then visit Kalyan darwaja steps :)

I would appreciate if you point out correct paths to the peak. Many a times, there are too many fork sections along the way. I went to Vikatgad last weekend following the tower path and got confused completely. Took a route and climbed more than half of it but it was so difficult that I couldn't make it any further and climbing down from such extremely steep loose soil trail was also very scary. As far as I know, it is not supposed to be so difficult even from tower route. Everywhere I read it is about moderate difficulty and some even claim it to be easy with 2-3 small difficult patches. Once we reached so many forks, we realised that we should have hired a guide. So, it would be great if you help us with full details of the trail and everything.. Just a suggestion. :)
Routes are sometimes confusing and people do traverse off route. In some treks where many trekkers dont visit the route is not well brushed so people do get lost, in such cases it takes a lot of time to find the correct one. Only chance is to explore and find out. In tower route you must have reached the dead end. Many time even i had encounter such situation. Just remember If you reach a dead wall or loose scree on any trek then thats not the route you want to be in. Only thing is to go back and try a different route. It will be easy if you ask the direction in detail from the villagers initially before climb.
