I would love if you haven’t already made one, a video on how to get into extreme horror books. Like a extreme horror books for dummies. And just to hear your thoughts about the books you’re reading. You’re so entertaining and fun to watch!
I really loved the format of maybe your first Extreme Horror video? Where you presented them at the beginning and read them and reacted to them on camera. Very entertaining and I like seeing the real time reactions!!
I would really recommend checking out the 2 videos Hailey and Aven did about extreme horror. The first is talking about the problems of the genre and the second is the more positive side plus lots and lots of recommendations! Think you'll find it looking for "we need to talk about extreme horror".
I’m curious if you’ve seen the recent videos about Matt Shaw. I’m not sure if he’s an author you’d like to support given his treatment of other women in the horror reviewer space. Just wanted to bring this to your attention. I don’t personally read extreme horror but do read traditional horror and some of the vitriol within the extreme horror community towards women seems genuinely scary.
You could do a poll on your community page, see what people prefer. Which one do you like doing better? I love the reading vlogs, the reactions are great and I like when you read certain parts out loud.
I still haven’t read any extreme horror yet, but, I found your channel around a week a go. And I’ve read 3 books (after two years of not really reading) since then. So I just wanted to thank you for enticing me back to books ❤
Great haul! I am dipping my toes more into extreme horror, and you nailed it when you said they need to be engaging and not just gross. Gone To See The River Man was a 5 star read for me, disturbing, beautiful storytelling without being gratuitous. I'm going to read the sequel soon. I would love to see a reading vlog for this.. I DNFd The Resurrectionist by Wrath James White but am willing to give him another chance. Cool cover! I've got The Cotton Candy Massacre on my kindle, to be read soon. I am doing a buddy read with BadisRad next month called The Black Farm. I'm not sure if I'll finish it, sounds really crazy! 😄 Sorry for the essay, loving your channel!
I like it when you read off camera and tell us about the highlights! Whatever gives us your reaction and something that gives us a good look at the grossness (but not enough that we don’t need to read it ourselves)!
I really like the reading vlogs because it’s fun to see your reactions, but you should create content that you enjoy making! We’ll enjoy it if we know you’re enjoying making it! 😊
I loved Gone To See The River Man (part 2 just came out) and Kristopher Triana is one of my favorite extreme horror authors. That book is one of his deeper and less extreme. I hope you like it. Another author I would recommend is Judith Sonnet. She has tons of books to chose from. I would recommend For The Sake Of and the second one. I'm loving these extreme horror videos!
I want ANY video you want to give us because I'm dying to know about these books. I do love the vlogs for your reactions but a recap video is also fantastic. I just love watching you talk about these insane books.
Nice haul you have! Especially gone to see the river man. If I may, I would highly recommend And the Ass Saw the Angel by Nick Cave, while it isn't exactly extreme horror it still is quite disturbing, but it's probably my favorite book ever written. The book is beautifully written, and isn't a "vile for the sake of being vile" situation.
personally i'd like to see you do a reading vlog for these. i'm a sucker for long-form content and i also enjoy seeing people's reactions to things! ultimately though, i wish for you to make the kind of videos YOU like making and don't worry about people who don't like it because there will always be people who DO like it :))
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on To Be Devoured! It’s not really extreme horror, but it has a few stomach churning scenes for sure. Overall, it’s BEAUTIFUL and reads like poetry.
Oh yeah The Slob. I haven't read it myself, but I watched a video of someone reviewing it. Poor guy looked and sounded like he was about to cry from having to recall it.
I’d avoid anything from Matt Shaw with his harassment of women online. Instead, I’d recommend ritualistic human sacrifice by CV Hunt, a female presenting author in the extreme horror space
I read rotting dead fu*ks from Matt Shaw years ago. It was my first and last extreme horror book adventure. The visuals never go away from my head. I like scary but extreme horror is too much for me. I’m new to your channel, HI! I love to hear your highlight reviews since I can’t read it myself. Thanks!
Another excellent and funny video. I love some of the art on the covers. Usually I am kind of a scaredy cat when it comes to extreme horror, but I am really interested in getting Shot Gun Nun. Reminds me of a extremely violent movie Hobo with a Shotgun starring Rutger Hauer as the hono, who cleans up the evil town. Since it is a Canadian film, some of the criminals use hockey sticks as weapons, nice touch there eh ? Well thanks again for reading these books so O don't have to. So I know which ones to stay away from. Stay creepy.
All I can say is that I love your comment about your house lol 😂😂😂 my wife thinks i am twisted sick person after the books 📚 I have bought they are sick and twisted books 📚 I have bought about ten books 📚 including the five books that were on your last video prayers and blessings to you and your boyfriend love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤
I LOVED Gone To See The River Man. Like obsessed. I'm currently reading the sequel though and don't even know if I can finish it. Not because its extreme, just because it's not doing it for me. Plus so many typos. I would recommend Fluids by May Leitz if you haven't read it already!
Now that you've been introduced to extreme horror, I think that you'll find you'll actually really enjoy it. You've managed to finish and enjoy a few of these now without quitting. Sure, you've had some stinkers, but those were just dumpster trash meant to shock, and that's it. If you are unaware of readingwithmeg, I highly recommend her channels for recommendations. Her content can get rather personal and off-topic, but I like that because I can relate to how she thinks, haha From her, I'd recommend Into the Wolves Den by Jon Athan, Brother by Ania Ahlborn, Full Brutal by Kristopher Triana, No One Rides for Free by Judith Sonnet, Violence on the Meek by Stuart Bray, Hub by Matt Shaw and Broken Dolls by Mique Watson. A few of those are really extreme. Especially The Hub, but I reckon you'll enjoy them
I don't think you're gonna be able to read His Pain without thinking, "in the morning, I break my arms. At night, I break my legs. I wait for my heart attacks to put me to sleep."
So I just read How To Sell a Haunted House😂😂😂😂 you were so right I could finish a book in 3 days but this one took me five days it was like one of those really bad horror movies “kakawewe”! 💀
Isn’t Matt Shaw the weirdo who dedicated an extreme horror book to a book reviewer who had mildly negative criticism regarding his book? I think he also wrote a book about Amber Heard too? Idk I came across a few videos on Tik Tok saying bad things about him.
The cover of His Pain is worked from a really cool painting by Suzzan Black - really interesting artist, whose work and story are worth checking out. Also, completely relate on the Spongebob talk... 😅
don’t give matt shaw a bad review. bc i feel like w the way matt has been acting, he’s going to end up acting like one of the protagonists in his books. the man’s behavior is scary, and not the good scary.
Brother by ania ahiborn dear Laura by Gemma amor and true crime by samantha kolesnik. Those are my favorite extreme horror books. I have just started in the genre but I'm obessed. KU has a ton of extreme horror on it
Plastic Monsters recently won the Splatterpunk Awards for best novella. I've been contemplating on getting it myself. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.
Matt Shaw...this is the first time I've heard him mentioned in any youtube book related video...my into to him was when a friend posted a pic on her book haul and I saw a title called: "for every ten pages you read, someone will die"...I was intrigued and asked her about it...she told me it was by author Matt Shaw...I wanted to find out more about the book and went to his website, which said it was the first book of a series of three. "This book has no name. There is no synopsis, no blurb, there is nothing. Open it up and there's no title and no author name. There is no introduction, no copyright blurb - just one person's haunting story. There are no trigger warnings yet the story will stick with you. The book will only be available in glossy hardback and you will know literally nothing about it other than what is written on the side of the spine" okay...I'm interested...but to say this guy is prolific is a gross (pun intended) understatement!...where to start?! she recommended Join Me In The Club, which was my intro to the EXTREME HORROR genre, which I quite liked!...I then moved on to the Game series...the first one being How Much To?...whoa!...anyway, nice to see him in the conversation thanks for posting these and am looking forward to digging in!
So far the summer I died by Ryan c Thomas doesn't seem bad it's a slasher type book, I got to a certain part and it's good I like it. Its a good story so far and I care about Roger and his buddy
Does anyone have extreme horror or just very scary horror recommendations that don't have any s*xual abuse in them? I'm thinking of getting into extreme horror but so far every extreme horror book I've found contains s*xual abuse which I don't want to read about. I'm cool with swearing, guts, gore, death, torture and messed up nastiness. Just not sa. Any recommendations?
I listened to the Slob on audiobook and its not at as bad as people say is. It is DISTURBING, but not SHOCKING because the poor writing just takes you out of it. I honestly found most of it boring actually
I really dislike Matt Shaw he has published an abuse/rape story about Amber Heard & also wrote a book “dedicated” to Booktuber Hayley Hughes because she gave one of his books a poor review. She’s now being harassed by him and his fanboys 🤮
Let us know what you think of these, especially 'The Slob'. It's absolutely vile.
Honestly, I have to refrain myself from saying "it's like that one episode from Spongebob..." multiple times a day
I guarantee The Simpsons did it first
I love Judith Sonnet books. Chainsaw Hooker was great!
I would really recommend checking out the 2 videos Hailey and Aven did about extreme horror. The first is talking about the problems of the genre and the second is the more positive side plus lots and lots of recommendations! Think you'll find it looking for "we need to talk about extreme horror".
Highly agree. That video has some good background info on a few of these authors/books.
🖤

Uh oh. Be careful with the Matt Shaw book. He’s been harassing a UA-camr who just said that one of his books was her least favorite books of the year.
Just heard about this. Really not cool.
Thank you!!
I like it when you wiggle your fingers and it makes that wiggle sound. ❤
I still haven’t read any extreme horror yet, but, I found your channel around a week a go. And I’ve read 3 books (after two years of not really reading) since then. So I just wanted to thank you for enticing me back to books ❤
Comments like these make my day. Thank you for watching and happy reading!
Id say try outsomething like Bighead.. or maybe not, it f***ed me up for some day or 2
I'm sayin!! Where's all the Edward Lee fans at?? Also Snuff by Palahniuk😬😅
i don't think extreme horror fans would consider it extreme horror, but i highly recommend chuck palahnuik's "haunted" if you haven't already read it!

I read gone to see the river man over a year ago and I still think about it 😱. It's one of those books that just sticks with you.
I like it when you read off camera and tell us about the highlights! Whatever gives us your reaction and something that gives us a good look at the grossness (but not enough that we don’t need to read it ourselves)!

One of my favorites in the screwed me up would be Exquisite Corpse. It had some really good descriptions

Mary an awakening of terror was more than just gore for gore, but there definitely is gore.

Gone to see the river man is SO GOOD! I feel like you will love it!
your reaction to his pain and spongebob is killing me 🤣 i've gotta pick that one up

Oh boy! Andy's talking about extreme horror again! Imma get popcorn!
The Spongebob bit was so relatable!! 😂 As an adult it also comes up way too much in my conversations lmfao
Poor guy looked and sounded like he was about to cry from having to recall it.
i love reading vlogs! i prefer groups of books in a vlog, but i also like single book vlogs
I’d avoid anything from Matt Shaw with his harassment of women online. Instead, I’d recommend ritualistic human sacrifice by CV Hunt, a female presenting author in the extreme horror space
Don't give Matt Shaw a bad review... 😬

gone to see the river man is a fav for me tbh
Be sure to say nice things about Matt Shaw. 😱
He's a hack hacking his way through horror

The Shotgun Nun and The Slob meet Spongebob Squarepants...only on one of Anda's videos! A Godless award winners vlog is eagerly awaited.

would love to watch a vlog of reading the slob!!! 🥰❤️💕

Good news. There's a sequel to River Man called _Along the River of Flesh_ by Kristopher Triana
@@SmartCookie2022bad news, it is not very good.

As a woman I would look up the controversial comment that Matt Shaw made. I won’t be reading from him ever.
It’s way more than one comment as well. Dude is a walking red flag.
Same. I just watched the With Cindy video today. The man gives me the creeps.
@@chellyfishing I wasn’t aware there was more. Thank you. Yep he sucks

It’s not the most extreme but “Things have gotten worse since we last spoke.” By Eric Larocca is one of my favourites I’ve read this year.
I just put this on my list. Good to see someone endorse it.
🪱
Just got a copy from my local library. 👍
don’t give matt shaw a bad review. bc i feel like w the way matt has been acting, he’s going to end up acting like one of the protagonists in his books. the man’s behavior is scary, and not the good scary.
You should read passages from the books that disturbed you the most!

ANDA!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT EAT BEFORE OR DURING READING THE SLOB!!!!! I’m traumatized!
I say "firmly grasp it" any chance I get, it's ridiculous 😅
I wouldn’t say it’s really extreme but cotton Candy massacre is a really good book, it’s like an ott 80’s horror movie
Vlog your experience with the slob please!!
but kristopher triana is my fave ever, you gotta read full brutal and the prettiest girl in the grave. perfect halloween books!
I agree. Kristopher Triana is the very best out of all these extreme horror authors.
All I can say is SPONGE 🧽 BOB SQUARE PANTS 👖 lol

I'd love a video about godless top books...
spongebob in a padded room and on medication.... EH authors, make it happen.
It's taking more and more. What's next,?
Shot gun nun is also a movie
Careful reviewing Matt Shaw that man is not stable

If you haven’t already, you should read Am I Beautiful? By Jon Athan
It’s got substance behind extreme horror but still brings the gore.
I am once again recommending Manhunt by Gretchen Felker-Martin. Beautifully written novel with tons of grossness and subversive content
The Things He Heard was really good! My favorite from Matt Shaw by far.
You are definitelly not a good influence for me
God instead of talking about them read them, God...
