About 1965 Memphis played the first game in the mid south coliseum..against Alabama, and won 71-65 in front of over 13, 165 fans. I was there. This is the way Tiger teams are supposed to play, every game, every year. Run their legs off and play above the rim.

the loud crowd was too much for Alabama. They needed this test. They'll learn from this. And we've learned that Memphis is better than their record. Duren and Bates just graduated from HS less than 6months ago, lets give them some time. By February, they'll be out of the rookie phase.
Hats off to Alabama. Going into this year they put Gonzaga, Houston, and top recruiting class in Memphis on their out of conference schedule on consecutive games. That deserves respect.

Dude has a negative wingspan, terrible shot selection, not a good playmaker or defenser. Also had like a 25 inch vertical. Victor and Scoot are way ahead of him in 2023 draft. Sharpe might surpass him too idk, if Emoni wants to get back to the top he will have a LOT of work to do and will have to change his game

He's been a huge turnover liability the whole season. He has one of the worst assists to turnover ratios in the SEC. And in the country for that matter. That's why his minutes are shrinking. Bama is careless with the ball, doesn't play defense, and is bad at FT's. That's a bad combination of issues going into conference play. Like really bad. These issues aren't easy to fix in the middle of the season, either.

I never treated a team with 8-1 record as a Top 10, not even a Top 15 team. This proves it as Memphis 5-4 spanks Alabama. USC, Iowa State are way better and more deserving in the Top 6 spots.
Emoni Bates played likes hit and Got POSTERized LOL. He showed he not ready for big games. They pulled him for the 2nd half and Memphis pulled off. Quinnerly defense is trash. He hit some lucky 3s at the end but he was just throwing up shots you can tell. Jalen did his damn thing. They couldn't stop that Alley-oop.

He’s not effective as a small forward. He scores the ball and needs the ball to be effective which is not good when talking in terms of a guy who should be a generation type talent. This game shows and displayed fully all his flaws… which speaks to why he’s dropped out of top draft talk. I think thing will get better but he’ll make money being this team’s energy guy and playing defense…
