    Self validation is the root to confidence and peace for ourselves. I used to feel so anxious and judgement towards myself. Like you I’ve been working on myself for a while and I’ve just started to recognize how good it feels to love and validate myself.

    Thank you for this topic. Your explanation was so needed. I relate to your childhood as I never felt seen or validated by my parents, which led to low self-worth on top of other insecurities. I still catch myself seeking external validation at times mostly from those close to me. The only difference is I am aware of my triggers and able to remind myself that I am worthy, deserving and validate myself. It is not always easy, however, I notice a big difference in how I speak to myself. Nurturing my inner child has been so key through my healing journey. I have a picture of little me by my bedside and speak positive words of praise and love.

      Christine Louis-Jacques this is so wonderful, I am so proud of you for your awareness and growth. I too have a framed photo of my little girl on my nightstand and speak to her daily. It’s a really powerful practice of meeting as truly seeing ourselves at time when we needed feel recognized, we are bridging that gap. Love to you beloved! ♥️♥️

      thank you for sharing! nurturing my inner child has also be so key in shifting my relationship to myself as an adult. having a picture of younger versions of ourselves and speaking words of love and kindness into them is such a loving daily practice that I’m going to implement into my life.

    Omg, I’ve never related to someone more..I grew up with a single mom who was emotionally aloof at times. She meant well and was a good person but it did it’s damage. My dad wasn’t around which made me seek attention mainly from men to reassure my inner child that she was good enough, pretty enough, funny enough, etc. I even found myself changing parts of my authentic self (music taste, likes/dislikes) just so I could appear likable to them..when you’re starved of this parental love, you have no choice but to build this false sense of self which is always fluctuating on who you are with. It’s a really sad way to live. With that being said, I’m going to therapy & binge watching videos like this so I can end these patterns. ❤️ Thanks so much for your service to this world!

    I am learning how to validate myself. I love using good true affirmations. I try not to get into expressing or being out of reality when it comes to my capacities. Being learning disabled, I wonder if I used to be a miserable narcissist. I learned that to feel better is to feel empathy and do good things for others. I just stay away from people who make me feel unsafe. Sometimes I feel like people only want bad things for me which makes it hard for me to be nice to others because I am always angry at the current abuse in my life. I have anger issues. I feel like telling those
    People who call me delusional, “Heh! You just insulted me. You don’t seem to have a good short term memory because you act like you just forgot.” Since I know the abuser won’t change, I feel that it’s not worth trying so I must say good bye

    Keeping promises to yourself also improves self worth. For eg - if we have set a goal to be achieved at the end of 2 years, and this requires us to take few baby steps everyday, at the end of each day, it feels so good.

    Thank you so much for this video. It really helped me.
    What I would add is that when you tell yourself what you are proud of, also list what quality that action shows.
    For example, I am proud of my self for doing well in school today - this shows that I am intelligent
    I am proud of having a good conversation with someone - this shows that I am sociable etc.

    Great video! Thank you for sharing! I struggle so much with my self worth because it was pretty much destroyed by trauma. You mentioned that one should treat themselves like a best friend and be kind to themselves. That made me think of the multiple times my parents have told me that I need to start treating myself with the same kindness I treat others with. I don’t know where or how to start, though.

    • @sat.shikha
      @sat.shikha  5 місяців тому

      Yes this is easier said then done! A place to start would be to tell yourself something you want another to say to you. See how this feels and what comes up :)

    What is the secret to believing yourself when you affirm or validate yourself?

    • @sat.shikha
      @sat.shikha  2 роки тому

      I personally have experienced relief when I speak kindness and loving words to myself, it feels soothing. It's not really about getting the mind to agree with you, it's noticing how you're body is responding and how it's making you feel. That shift will help know that kindess/love feel good.
