These were late additions to the game, but not unwelcome. Heartless Sacrifice was a tricky track to get right. The initial version was about twice as long, but I disliked how it ended up sounding. I think the current version conveys the "gotta move on" sound well.
As for Soul's Rest and Inner Darkness, these were very interesting as it introduces a new character and a new motif-- the demon. I was told to make the shrine's theme sound unsettling, but safe at the same time. So, I wanted the first 50 seconds to convey that sort of unsettling feeling of discovering something new in the forest, while the rest of it feels a little safer, albeit with an underlying darkness. Darkness that we get to fully hear in Inner Darkness, the demon's full motif where it manifests and tears Yui apart. That track was fun to compose-- with great help from Ivan Spelljack Jitz. I rearranged the initial version we had in mind. I composed it separate from the cutscene at first, but surprisingly, it ended up fitting almost 1:1.

Saiko No Sutoka No Shiki is a spin-off of the original game, Saiko No Sutoka. It’s a survival based on a horror game where you must escape from AI that actively hunts you down in unique ways.
