We miss your hiking videos! We were hoping you’d have one on Wheeler Peak and realized how old your videos are. I hope you and Marty get there again soon.
I miss my hiking videos, too! 😀Unfortunately, other things got in the way and we had to stop hiking. It's been a number of years now and it doesn't look good for the future. Marty and I have often talked about how we miss being out in nature and how it would be nice to be back on the trail. But we're not holding our breath, so you probably shouldn't either. Thank you for missing us -- nobody else has! lol
Thank you for posting these videos they are a big help as it can get confusing with trail signs i really enjoy this type of content cuz its what i enjoy doing getting out in nature hiking also can you camp up there??
I'm glad you found the video helpful! As far as I know, there are no restrictions on camping in the backcountry, and, as I recall, there are a number of places to camp along Hwy. 63, There is also a forest service campground at the very end of Hwy. 63, just north of Cowles. Check Goggle maps.
@@ManzanoMan_Adventures Yes, I actually enjoyed the hikes a lot more because I didn't have to spend every single minute deciding whether I needed to get something on video, or whether the wind was going to mess up the audio, etc., etc. The freedom to just hike without worry was a great relief. Plus, the time, effort, and money it takes to shoot and post-produce the videos is fairly significant. In April, I'll make a final decision on whether I'm going to make the break permanent. Honestly, I don't have enough subscribers here, or enough followers on my blog, to make it worthwhile, anyway. And at least 40% of those people aren't even interested in hiking, they just sub or follow hoping I will sub or follow them back.
@@dafringe Happy to know you are ok !! I really enjoy watching your vids, and not to sound rude or greedy but I hope things change and you can get back to the woods where you belong !!! take care and thank you for hours of pure enjoyment !!
@@1888Joecool That's some compliment. Thank you! You're the second person who has asked me where I've been. It's very satisfying to know my videos and hike reports have helped at least a few others. We'll see what the future has in store for me... and I do miss the woods and the trails! :) Later.
Hello, Carlo... I copied the profile map from Garmin Basecamp, made a second copy, brought the second copy into Photoshop and filled with red. Then, in After Effects, I stacked the two copies on different time lines -- with red copy underneath -- and used a Linear Wipe, from left to right, to uncover the red copy.

@@dafringe will do thank you keep hiking and never stop exploring!!!
@@dafringe also how long do you estimate it would take to get up to the lake and back from the parking area where you start from in the video??
@@rosemoreno2817 All the details are in the hike description posted on my blog. The link is in the video description.
Nice video and thanks for posting it. I hope you were able to get out and hike this summer.
We did get some hiking in, but decided to take a break from shooting video and blogging. Glad you liked the video!
I understand. When we film it sometimes takes away from the moments we experience in the outdoors. Be safe out there and happy holidays.

John Schroeder Just checked... and I still have a pulse! :)
Are you going to make more vids ???
Due to increased workload, had to stop hiking a couple of years ago, so no more hiking videos unless something changes.
