USA best team award? Are you kidding me. Australia had 13 golds to USAs 7. Ridiculous. Medal tables are always based on golds not total number of medals.
How would Australia ever win more medals, they don't even send as many athletes as the US do. US won because of the most medals, but I think they know they were not the best when it comes to winning the even overall.
Yeah, this was Australia’s meet. I felt like they were going to win every event, regardless of who was favored. Team USA had some great performances, including those medley relays, and I hope they dominate the golds in Paris, but I felt like it was a given that Australia was the best team. If they had an award for the deepest team, that could be the US, but they weren’t the best team at this meet.
Frankly speaking, I don't think the US team deserves the title of best, the best should be the Australian team. In addition, in the evaluation of MVP, can FINA properly consider the point weight of team gold medal events? Obviously, Qin Haiyang's 4 gold medals ranked first among all players, and he deserved the title of MVP.
Qin Haiyang’s first ever triple sweep 50 100 200 is greater than Marchand beating Michael Phelp’s record. Ask any swimmer or the Japanese public they would agree too. Qin is the biggest hero of the crowd. This is racism of low class against high class and white inferiority.
qin's 4th gold medal was a relay medal, which is ignored because it favours 200 freestylers and 100m swimmers too much, and the result heavily relies on other people. France doesn't have much relay depth, but that should not detract from marchand's performance. furthermore, marchand is not a sprinter or a freestyler. on the other hand, qin swam 100 breast on relays, which was an event he won an individual world title in. this also played out in the womens award - mckeown got swimmer of the meet with 3 individual golds and 2 relay silvers, ahead of moc who had 5 gold, 1 silver and 4 WRs, with most of those results coming from relays. the scoring system accounts for top 4 finishes and WRs in individual events. qin and marchand tied in this criteria, with 3 golds and 1 WR each. this tie was broken by looking at who broke the WR by the greatest percentage, which was marchand's 400 IM. this has been the criteria for several years now, so it's not biased towards marchand
we should not judge swimmers based on team performances, especially in a sport where we can quantify exactly how well an individual did. if you put the best swimmer in the world in a country that does not make the finals in the relay, the lack of a relay medal does not make them less of the swimmer that they are.

Nice looking couple
