My bag just arrived a day or two ago, I ordered the one color you didn’t have, their Red/Coyote. I can honestly say it’s the best bag I’ve ever owned. The red color is a rust red so it looks great with everything. The brown accent looks great on it. And it is the best Camera backpack ever made if you have a smaller camera system like Micro Four Thirds, Fuji, or one of the smaller Nikon or canon 3400s or SL2s. The bottom front pocket is perfect for holding a camera with a lens attached and even another small lens. The top pockets on the sides and for the water bottle are perfect for holding extra lenses. The optional bottom straps let you lash a tripod onto it. All while still having full access to the main compartment for jackets, books, business papers etc. All you need is some padded wraps and lens cups and this can be converted to camera mode so easily. I’ve never found a backpack that worked this well as a hybrid daily carry and camera gear bag. It’s truly amazing. I’m glad I purchased it through your link!
I just got an email from Tom Bihn that this bag is back up for preorder starting Sept 10 with two additional colors. The new gray makes it look a bit better. I still think they can improve the design but the quality and organization of the bag just makes you forgive that area.
These guide pack versions also have a Mars Red option - not just the black and brown. The red looks killer. Also thought these were much better looking than the original but still not to the point of pulling the trigger sadly. Funny thing though, I feel like the shape of these bags lends itself more towards a mountaineering type of vibe that these are as opposed to trying to look like a cool urban pack with the black dyneema options which it is definitely not! :) As always great watching your videos!
I got this bag because of your review, and then this video... Love it... The handle is kinda meh, but I wrapped it with a cobra stitch... Now I have basically no complaints about it... Thanks for the videos
Mr. Reeves - love your videos! Found your channel in my quest for the perfect EDC bag and decided to try the Synapse 25 (not the Guide), which I purchased from your link earlier today. You made it tough to decide between the Synapse, the Aer and the PX, but that's how good your reviews are. Looking forward to more vids. Love from Boston!
kind of wanted one before for long weekends and shorter trips up to chicago and portland but now i could see using this for my fly fishing trips also. the material and back support make it a bag i want to take into the woods and get dirty. think im getting another bag.
Tom Bihn bags are like a Ferrari or something like that to me. Sure I could maybe splurge and be able to afford one but then getting all the extra stuff will certainly add up. They look very functional and to me I actually like the looks department. Sort of classic unassuming that maybe will help keep nefarious parties uninterested. I hope to one day be able to see one in person, or better yet own it. Chase your videos are AWESOME, my fiancee is always like omg not another bag video but I am always looking forward to your stuff
Just got an email from Tom Bihn that they're starting a production run again with two new colors. I'm keen to get one, but can't decide on which colour to get. What's your opinion on the different color choices?
Great video as always, have you thought about reviewing the tom bihn tri-star? I'm actually looking at that bag right now and it would be awesome if you, my most favorite bag reviewer ever, make a video about the tri-star. Just food for thought.
Honestly, this is more fun to travel with. Minaal you could maybe fit a few extra shirts in. But the freedom of traveling with this bag is unparalleled in my own experience. Both bags have literally changed my life when it comes to travel. Minaal came first, showed me how to do it, then this one said "hey, you could take out a couple shirts, have all your organization accessible on the outside of the bag and travel light as a g-ddam feather!" So, both are favorites.
I really want to buy this backpack, but I can't get over the "grandpa" look. I wish they would make this bag to have a more square profile to have that urban look. Do you agree?
After several weeks of watching reviews on TB Synapse 25, I finally decided to buy one. As soon as opened the box, I immediately started to love this bag and regretted waiting so long to buy one. I can't wait to use it on my trip to Jordan and Greece next month.

I really like the hip belt option. I wish it had some compression straps though.

+Marian theLibrarian all good choices! Do the synapse this year and then maybe another in a couple years and you’ll be a very life-rich librarian.
So, if your talking to Tom Bihn about design does that mean there is a chance of an ultimate one bag travel backpack called the 'Tom Bihn Chase'?
+Greg Swanson oh man, wouldn’t that be amazing!
“Crooked like a question mark” took me out 😰😰😂😂😂

Great stuff as always Chase :) Would love to see a review of the Peak Design Slings (10L and 5L) if you can get your hands on them :)

i was just thinking about the tortuga homebase and your epic review
Can do a compare of the Fjällräven Rucksack No. 21 and the TB Guide’s Pack?
"Almost nothing better" - so what is better?! I honestly need to know!
When I saw this on the TB website, I thought of you. I knew you would like the looks a bit better. "Dad-Bag" (still LMAO!)

Have you thought about doing a review on the Tom Bihn Brain Bag?
Hi Chase. What are your thoughts on the Nomatic Travel Bag? I was considering purchasing it and would love to hear your review first.
Great video as always! Thank you for sharing.
That or a go ruck gr1 for all around use?
I’ve been thinking of getting it as an EDC, good idea or no?
Yea, man. So many accessible pockets, so much space... never feels too big, never feels to small.

Would you pick this or the Minaal for one bag travel? I can't decide!

+Eddie kinda.. but in use this bag is magic. So, when you’re ready for magic...

This or the GR1?
yessssssss
Nice vid :)
Man... still ugly? Not feeling them to be honest.
Word.
Chase Reeves but that’s the life of a backpack man I guess. Some days I just like feeling more organized than stylish... hahaha
Soooo... I copped one for 120. I love it now. Best back i bought in 2017.
Hey Anthony. I got really lucky. It was on something similar to craglist ;). It was brand new too. I think you just have to look harder :D
been, pronounced either “ben” or “bean”. You’re Canadian? How long have you BEAN here?
My wife and several of my best good friends are canadian.
The 525 Parapack fabric version adds weight, to look 'cooler'? No Thanks.
It's 0.3 ounces, bruh.
$240 is way too expensive IMO. I would rather stick with the regular Synapse.
I have to say, some T. Bihn gimmick, buying extra stuff, which really doesn't help anything IMO. Other than you get some $$ Chase.
