- The team from Empowa have made affordable housing possible in Mozambique and in Kenya. Their next major ambitious goal is to bring in more liquidity to make it possible by tokenising rental properties on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. Tokenising a real-world asset while also housing many at the same time.

What does a typical home in Nairobi cost?
It really varies depending on the size and location but I found some small 2 bedroom places for under $90k USD

What does "under-serviced" Kenyan mortgages mean? That could just as easily mean that real OWNER ownership of homes is much higher in Kenya, rather than banks owning all the properties. Less mortgages could very easily be a good thing...
Always applaud the effort of Cardano projects, especially those still building in a bear (I have a project myself we are still building), but I would say we should really be careful about comparative analysis as we integrate DeFi, Crypto, and NFT's into the world.
Under service means that there is a huge amount of demand for mortgages but they are being rejected and denied. Average rate is about 20-25% from my last conversation with the team making it unaffordable resulting in shared family homes. Their rent to own model has made it much more attainable. I had high hopes for empowa. But I have lost faith in this project. Their overly complex business model smells like bs. Don't waste your money or energy on this scam.
Projects like World Mobile and Nuvola are safer.
