I'm a bit behind but I'm wondering, what is a gold star family? is it someone who has a family member serve in the military has been killed in the line or duty? I mean no disrespect or insensitivity by asking. I legitimately have never heard the term gold star family so I would like to know please and thank you. It may helpme understand better. (I live in Canada and never heard it here)

@@johnbriggs8239Trump was going to maintain SF and aviation there to support Afghan forces. Biden not only withdrew without redeploying all our assets, but withdrew without coordinating with our closest allies, namely the British and the French.

As an American I stand with you all, as a Christian I pray for you all,, as a father I grieve with you, as a father of military sons I share anger with you about how this happened, as a son to a fallen father that loved this country and served as well I speak for us both when I say this shall not be forgotten. I watched each of the testimonies and wish everyone could hear the tremendous sacrifice that has been made. I am glad you are letting us know about your son. Bless you.
I feel your pain. The stories my young Marine weren’t much different then yours, other than he served under Obama and had to read the Taliban their “rights”, and ask permission to engage, while being shot at. Before he passed 12/22 he couldn’t sit with me and enjoy the 4th, for reasons in the world of ptsd. His story was different in the fact that the nightmares of war and divorce. He survived gunfire and rocket attacks to come home and be killed by the bottle. Your sons story was a tragedy caused via a government, that could have gave a S*** less.

I started to cry as I listened to you tell the story of your broken heart for your son.
For the official’s in the room with you, they were simply going to a movie in school.
They laugh, cry and applaud, just like other movie goers, and leave going “ that was really good”.
They then went to lunch, played on the swings and flattered themselves for how special they are.
Bless our children who fight for our country and die for what they believe in.
I cry more because your son died feeling he died for nothing, and the children play in the pretty building you stand in thinking you stand in the peoples hallowed ground.

Retired military here My heart goes out to these great parents for raising good caring children that served. These people in charge (supposably) are cowards they can't even stand up to these families and say we have no idea what we were doing. The military holds derelict officers to a higher standard these people were derelict to their duty. They should be gone PERIOD no if's ands or buts. GONE

To be honest I find it hard to say anything because I am trying so hard to suppress the pain I feel for your loss. I lost my best friend! I know how that feels, it is a horrible feeling of loss. But I have no idea what it feels like to lose a son. I am so sorry! Just know, let everyone know he did not die in vain, he died a hero, he was a patriot of this great nation. 13 people died that did not have to because our so-called Commander-In-Chief made a bad decision and he will not step up and take the blame that is solely his responsibility to take. Im a marine, 2 tours in Afghanistan from 2008-2012 infantry WPNS C. and then a Charley C., i know at least one marine that died due to bad leadership and others injured but this one really fucks with me, i really have no respect for this government anymore and how they treat the fallen with no dignity or respect and instead get lies and ignored, i hope anyone thats young and motivated like these marines were that sounded just like the guys i knew think twice about sighning that dotted line, the marines are only as good as the leadership and at lower levels i bet its stellar but put a couple stars on the collar and theyll get you killed, its not worth it anymore, dont die for our governments BS proxy wars to make money for donors

He would make it about him and Jill losing their son. He didn’t die because of his fathers stupidity, they got to tell him goodbye. These families didn’t get to say goodbye, their children died because of an incompetent leadership playing with peoples lives. I wish that nobody would loose a child under any circumstance but that is something that happens but nobody should lose a child like this!!! He was just interviewed on the Shawn Ryan show and he described the entire thing along with being in the hospital when Briben came to meet him. Almost immediately brought up his damn son. It was infuriating.

They fight to protect ALL of our freedoms. This event is so important because many of us have forgotten - this administration wanted us to forget, this disaster of a so called successful mission. They want to wash their hands of the whole debacle, to avoid any kind of accountability or punishment and move on to the next conflict They are quick to take credit for those they saved, but never the ones they lost or left behind. I have a daughter who served in the marines in Afghanistan. She was in the reserves and was recalled. She went as others did, some willingly some unwillingly, but they answered the call. They did their duty and they expected the military and the government to do theirs, we're all still waiting. We need to be reminded but I, like these parents, will not forget.

My heart breaks for you momma. I understand the grief you feel as I also had to bury my 18 year old Marine son. He could not wait to graduate from high school so he could start serving with his beloved Marines. I begged and pleaded for him not to go because I grew up during the Viet Nam war and didn’t want to be one of those moms who has someone knock on their door to tell them their son was dead. He looked me in the eyes and said “mom, I will do whatever it takes, including giving my life, so people can live free.” He died 14 months later with 18 of his Marine brothers in the crash of an MV-22 Osprey aircraft that was still in testing and not ready for passengers. I was told they needed weight in the back of the plane and chose my son’s unit, which was training as a water assault unit, not a guinea pig unit. I will never forget sitting at a memorial and listening to one of the speakers in a uniform with lots of medals say, “This is the way they would want to die. My son had big dreams but those dreams did not include losing his life as a crash test dummy . It has been a long while since my son and his Marine brothers lost their lives but the pain remains. Thank you for sharing about your son and thank you for speaking the names of those who died with your son. When we speak their names we keep them alive for all to know them. Semper Fidelis Oohrah ❤

Her mistake was to identify herself as the mother. She should have stood up and said as a trans father, and his/him identifying nonbinary son was targeted and left behind for those reasons. They would have been given headline voices on all media and government fronts.
