Happy Holidays Mike. Your content is the main thing keeping me engaged with Hunt right now! After years of completing every event, I am sitting this one out, but plan on coming back eventually.
All I want for Christmas is Kerrty, Joe and Mike squeezed into a tiny, little, short four hour 'best of compilation' clip. Thanks. Happy Holidays everbody 🫶
Shotguns being good against beetles makes sense, actually. I've heard that militaries have been using shotguns more in recent years because they are really good at shooting down drones. I'm kinda disappointed that the Chu Ku Nu isn't more reliable. I guess I'll stick with my Hunting Bow.
I believe shotguns against drones did not stick for some reason. At least I don't remember when I heard about it or saw footage. Maybe it's not as easy IRL or it's hard to carry shotgun in addition to the regular rifle
It's easier than using a rifle perhaps, but shotguns are not "good" at shooting down drones. They are very fast and fly farther away from their target than you'd think.
I bring penny shot darringer into bounty clash just cause i encounter WAY more beetles in clash than hunt, it could be anecdotal but for me it is noticeable
It makes all the sense. Shotguns exist almost purely for hunting purposes, and most of that if for fast-moving small targets, most of them airborne (birds), and sometimes hares, rabbits and other smaller mammals. Sure, you can use slugs for bigger game, but that is a more specialized use because you could use a rifle instead for that. Shotguns against drones is obviously a very recent new use, but it can be done. Benelli has actually unveiled a new shotgun specifically made for countering drones just recently. The radio-based anti-drone weapons are probably much more effective, but shotguns are still the "quick n' dirty", but also dirt-cheap and widely available solution. Many civilians especially already hunting shotguns perfectly capable of shooting down drones.
I like that they are including new different styles of weapons especially not sweaty long ammo but I think some of these weapons need rework, merry Christmas psychoghost!
@14:44 it looks like the shot went above their head. Bullet drop is significantly lower if you shoot up or down hill because you are reducing the horizontal element of the trajectory.
what no one really points out tho is its ALSO effected by bolt thrower. you fist in 4 bolts at a time instead of 2. but ya, me and my friends def being going off with it...its def meant to be the close range bow since it damage falls off PRETTY fast. despite the complains people have with this bow "ruining" the game by being a spammy weapon...if you they to it in any range besides shotgun range...then thats honestly on them, lol. Still a bit suprised we got frag and fire instead of poison bolts.
dude the game has the silliest melee modifications like talon, trauma and striker, bomb lance, bomb launcher, freaking beetle fpv drones, dark-sight activated dynamite and the completely historically accurate chu ko nu is the problem?
I'm doing pretty well with the chu ku nu, I just nail the drop and lead intuitively I don't know how but it feels like this crossbow was made for me, get a lot of pvp value from that
I was like 2months completly out of playing Hunt, but that event put me right back into the bayou. Shredder is(was) nuts but overall it’s a great event till now. I read a lot „Hunt lost their path“ or „That’s not my Hunt anymore“ to be fair, I get what they mean but I‘am still deeply in Love with this game! Would love to hear your opinion about this💚🖤 Wish you some nice days with your family! Cheers✌🏼
ya. kinda same. Ya old hunt was unique and slow and whatnot... but there is kind of a reason the meta was "mosin dolche" for so long... the game was leaning to being downright boring and unfun when every match devolved to "dont move or the mosin will 1 shot you from 300m away" I like being able to ACTUALLY PUSH with shotguns and our silly gothic horror weapons. (( I love me some bomblance and I HATE sitting still.)) To me, "rat gameplay" is stabbing people with my guns and possibly nuking myself or myteam in the process as i booby trap litterly every red barell I see. as the warpstone guides me to.
I dont want this weapon to be super strong in pvp. It is a rapid fire silent weapon that can 1 tap you in close range. Its fun and will be funny but I really don't want it to be really strong. Also don't set yourself on fire to warm others is an amazing quote and life advice.
I think we're all too blessed and spoiled by normal crossbow range. Remember, it's no long the "proper kill range," and is instead "drop range" on the proper distance the gun can work. 15m is *really* bad when it comes to projectiles, but it is what it is. If it had 30m? I feel like this thing would be the new avto for bows/crossbows.
So try now a Chu Ko Nu with perk for faster reloading crossbows- you just reload whole magazine with 2? 3? seconds. And upgrade of blademaster (3 points, I forgot how it's called) also working with crossbows and even throwing knives, try this sometimes ;) this perk helps a lot with chu ko nu :P
Here is the thing, I think it still needs to one shot outside of one shot shotgun range, because a projectile is a lot harder to hit than just aiming in an enemys general direction with a shotgun, so you should be rewarded for hitting the shot. Like why bring this when i could just run terminus with levering, basically same fire rate, but more one shot range and i barely have to aim, I just think it should one shot just a tiny bit out of shotgun range, cause hitting a projectile is a lot harder to hit than just using a shotgun.
Does that mean you can reup ammo from the hand crossbow? I figured it was just that none of the other soecial base ammos are interchangable so this wasnt either
hey mike a heads up, with blademancer you REALLY need to stop shooting twice and instead insta darksight for an instant pull as blademancer does the pull damage meaning you can one shot grunts and even armored and hives as well as players by just insta blademancer pulling the shot back.
25:15 THIS... THIS IS WHY THE NECRO CHANGE WAS THE WORST THEY COULD MAKE..... like ONE comeback is good but the reason why even old necromancer which mind you was dogwater and at most only a way for solos to save after bad trades was better than current necro and why honestly i think necro needs to be changed that firstly, it wont be a burn trait but instead is a on/off trait that gets turned back on by looting a dead hunter. i think it should also keep the resto effect BUT with the caveat that looting the body of a hunter whose already been looted at least once EVEN IF THEY GOT RESED dosnt turn it on again but with the deaths witness trait, you should be allowed to see the dead who have been looted once or not by them being orange or grey. this means that a solo cant out res a group of players but does get to stay in the fight easier if they can manage their necro usage well AND both rewards good players who are quick to get into the fight and be the first to loot dead bodies while also preventing this from being a change ALL solos will be able to make good use of regardless of skill level and most importantly, it will stop the bullshit of most of us solos having to quite frankly, play like little bitches and refuse to jump into compound fights until everyone else is dead bringing back the faster more fun old pre 1896 gameplay where solos could actually engage without the shit as fuck netcode causing us to trade at the worst times or get one tapped by a sniper off in the bushes 100m out and thats the end of us meaning less fun for us and the rest of the lobby because the solo just got picked off like it was nothing before they ever got to join a fight... literally the amount of bounties post 1896 update where i kill like a solo and maybe a duo if im lucky because the rest of the lobby killed eachother is fucking stupid especially since once many solos loose their necro and ESPECIALLY loose a bar, they just dip out of the match meaning a single down or a incin shot that leads to a bar lost will just automatically make the game more boring because the solo decided not to risk it after that.....
I like when hunt adds things to the game that aren't crazy meta changing bs. The bomb launcher and chu kanu are cool quirky things that have a skill ceiling. Yeah its lower than a mosin. But still if you devoted time to them you'll win games. More goody side grades please hunt
ya, but peopel cant hear your point because too busy complaining that the chu ka nu is ruining the game. which is kinda funny becaue the "spammy" weapons have never been meta or top tier.
Wishing you a merry Christmas. Well, at least the Choo Ka Choo is better with its explosive ammo. 😉 Musical greetings from Belgium, Gunther (singer and lyrics writer of Gabriel Scar)
15:07 *this* is why I respect and support you, Mike! I do have a Family so financially I can’t throw money your way, but I *always* like, comment, and share your videos. You are honestly a breath of fresh air when it comes to UA-cam content, hands down. As for the Chu Ku Nu is a meme weapon, but not a fun one 😅 some rebalancing (or tweaking) needs to happen or just remove it from the game.
I think the Chu Ku Nu is going to feel alot less powerful when the Blademancer trait leaves the game. Being able to secure a kill by ripping out a bolt over WiFi is making it feel powerful, to me, for now.
I'm glad there's no aiming down the sights with the chu-ku-no, because you're putting the reticle way above the target with quite a bit of lead with every shot. There'd be no way to hit anything if the weapon was actually in the way as it would be with aiming down sights.
I am 100% sure there is some weird delay on the actual shots from the chu ko nu, I noticed it while watching your streams as soon as you started playing it and every now and then I notice it on my own games as well. Definitely feels worth investigating
the impression I have is that CHU KU NU's shooting rate is greater than her animation!! because of this you click and your shot comes out with delay when the animation ends, this causes scenarios like you double clicking and taking one more shot than you should, because it fires the first shot and fires a second shot on its own even without having the bolt cocked, the same thing makes the shots seem like they have a delay because in fact the shot you are seeing is the response to a previous click you made, it's weird 😅

@7:40 this is an issue that affects all guns but is much more visible on spam weapons. For some reason there is a MASSIVE input buffer in this game. I can reliably shoot the mosin click shoot again as I'm shooting and then it will automatically shoot once you re-rack the bolt. Bad game design imo.
The biggest problem is the drop range is too short. The reason this is a big problem is because shotguns mainly. 15 meters is well within the effective shotgun range damage especially after the buff. By the time the first bolt lands if you are lucky enough to get the first bolt off you have died immediately after the first shot gun round. The church ku nu relies too heavily on you ambushing, the target not seeing you till after the first bolt lands on them or the opponent makes a severe mistake. I really feel that if they allowed for further range before drop off that would alleviate those issues. Wouldnt make it amazingly good but it would help make it not feel so bad to use.
Everyone keeps talking about Berserker affecting the damage of the arrow pull, but I tested in shooting range and doesn't seem to be case. (with bow at least)
I don't think you are wrong Mike. I've tried to use the Chu Ku Nu several times and something just isn't clicking and feels off with it. Anytime I did kill someone with it, it felt like it was on accident and not because of skill or aim. I've not been successful with it at all. That said, I miss normal crossbow shots all the time so maybe I just suck.
I think the Chu ku nu will be a lot less viable once blademancer is gone honestly. Sure, you get 20 bolts but you get so few back from ammo boxes and you can never really tell where they'll land.
Happy Holidays Mike.

damn, i had no idea this weapon goes way back to the Three Kingdom era 😮😮😮
Someone didnt play Age of Empires :D
And the Wikipedia article notes that the power was pretty weak and so rarely used by the military. Seems like the Hunt devs did their research!
Still enjoy your videos even though I've quit playing hunt. Keep up the good work Mike.

It's quite annoying to shoot more shots than I wanted

Scottfield Precision, the compact Winfields and newly the buffed Specter are the other offenders.
