I can't believe this band isn't even more celebrated than it is. WHAT a talent !

this band has represented our country all over the place...it;s time for the jerks in Washington to recognize a true ambassador when the her and see one. Many of the members were destitute on the street as I understand after Hurricane Katrina, and turned themselves into America's premier early jazz band. What a story! but the y need to be rewarded and recognized much greater than they are. Shaye Cohn, cornet player is the secret glue that inspires and holds this group together IMO.

    Keys:
    00 min 04 secs: 8-bar Intro : B flat
    00 min 13 secs: F [16 bars]
    00 min 31 secs: B flat [16 bars + 4-bar bridge]
00 min 54 secs: E flat [32-bar theme, played five times, with a tag on the last one].
In the unlikely event that anybody wants them, the lyrics going with the 32-bar chorus are:
Sunny smiles, latest styles - that's Beau Koo Jack!
Lovin' ways, cabarets - that's Beau Koo Jack!
    All the ladies in Dixieland
Will rise and tell you he's just grand.
    When he strolls the avenues,
All the sugar mammas sing the lonesome blues.
Steppin' gals, midnight pals - that's Beau Koo Jack!
Nifty clothes, whisper lows - that's Beau Koo Jack!
Like the jolly kings of old
He's got his pockets filled with gold.
So that's why they call him Beau Koo Jack.

Bars on the windows? Must be a great neighborhood. Still, TS is a great watch anywhere, anytime.

Craig in great form here. He often sounds a bit squeaky (to me) in the high register, but this is very good.

I was hoping to get a good seat, that's my head blocking your view of the clarinet being played. This is a nice recording, and it's nice to get a look at what kind of audience is present. I will comment that the sound, while good, does not capture the low sounds of the Bass drum or Tuba, nor the power of the clarinet. I think it takes a significant investment to capture that, or.......an inexpensive investment in purchasing their CD's, which do use such professional equipment........or attend in person!
