It's always sad seeing a broken board, but you have to expect that to happen at the Wedge. Loved the white hoodie. Reminds me of the surf that hit back in the spring of 1968, big waves with some really nice shape. I missed school that day because I had a cold (ahh -choo!) 😁
does no one make a board with like a metal spar up the middle? that would save a lot of broken boards imo.
Props to the guys who pull into the closeouts. That's what Wedge was always about. As someone who bodyboarded Wedge a lot in the 80's and 90's, I never saw the point of dropping in just to kick back out. Grab them closeouts boys!!

I love some of the fun music you play. But there are other times when it’s just camera, the sounds of the crashing waves, boards flying and the occasional whistle… “that board’s gone.” Love the authenticity of these videos.
The Notorious Wedge chewing em up n spitting them out...... Separating the men from the boys. Fun place if u respect what it's capable of and a great place to bring that over confident "I can handle any So Cal break" guy for a reality check and a phat slice of humble pie!

Yes, the wedge is an hourly break, but I’d rather surf the south side of seal Beach because I prefer going right then left on a big Southwell

Big rebound bowel, after take off nothing left of the wave to surf. Jumping off before the close out is... you know, sand in your nose. Parking fees and broken boards your reward. Best place is the one right hander that pops up from time to time. The beach gowers smile when you eat it up close. Fun
If anyone has not seen the wedge Jet Ski incident, Check it out you have no idea how dangerous that spot is

4:40 I measured the drop from where the guy jumped off to where he landed at 13 ft high. Measured the face at 20-24 ft.
This is assuming he's 5'10" and I could be a bit off lol

BTW, in the winter, please try to capture the rare Heroines again... I spent so much time on that beach cuz of my relatives in Monarch Bay, but only saw that wave appear 2-3 times. I hope it forms this winter! The point is also so serene above and below the water.
