I saw Breadwinner open for Didjits in DC & my friend & I wondered if they would play fast or slow. I had the first Merge 7" with no listed speed & slow sounded great- I't turned out fast was correct & it just sounded a bit sped up on those tracks.
Check out their myspace thingy if you want to hear the normal speed; it is probably elsewhere as well but that is semi-official. This one sounds like its the 7" recorded at 45 rpm instead of 33 or something along those lines.

hey soupalex, thanks for doing that. i can't really hear it enough for it to alter my listening experience but I suppose if someone listened to just one a lot and then switched it could be noticeable.
I don't think either are "wrong". They seem to be different takes: to the best of my ability to tell by manually beatmatching both versions together through the same set of speakers, they're almost identical from the section ~22s in, through to ~1m46 (times for this version). I don't know if Merge chopped things up, released multiple versions, or whatever... could be a sampling error, but I couldn't tell you which one is "legit" as I don't have a copy of the disc.

They both clock in roughly at the same times - this at 2:11 and the Myspace version at 2:08. If the uploader was playing it at 45 rpm and it's meant to be played at 33 rpm i'd think the song would be appreciably shorter, after all the needle's traveling across a record moving 12 revolutions more per minute.
