actually for what you're doing, I would use the quill, it's quicker in this instance, and it's a non precision cut, if there's a small amount of chatter it's not going to kill anything, especially where it's tool making rather than a finished product for someone, that was something the toolmaker taught me early on, sometimes you make nice fixtures, especially if it's a job you're going to run a lot, sometimes you make shit quick and dirty and get the job done, especially a one off job
