This reminded me of a match I had a few weeks ago. The details are kinda fuzzy, but I (as a postman iin solo) was paired with a prisoner, a coordinator and an acrobat who where up against a hermit. Still, she hadn't wasted a gun and hunter brought blink so I figured she could do a decent rebound kite, so I saved her and gave her the speed boost letter (I also had tide). Not only did she not get downed through the rest of the match, but thanks to the cooperation from the rest of our team, we managed to pop all the ciphers and made the hunter surrender. So yeah, I do know agree that there are cases were it is worth to rescue at 5 ciphers, though as a solo player I generally don't do it much
I got terror shocked accidentally at 5 ciphers one time, was really embarrassing, got rescued and did rebound kite through all 5 ciphers and we got a 4 man. Just cause someone gets tsed doesn’t always mean they’re bad they just may have made a mistake 😅

I usually rescue at 5 ciphers bc if i don't, the hunter will switch targets and if the second kiter also dies fast we will have someone past half life and another being chaired Also i tried both strategies with randoms and the rescuing one worked me the best
Hunter main here, in high tier loads of people sell, but that really helps me, since I might be loosing some ciphers but the pressure I get from this is much bigger. The games I end up loosing are the ones that they keep rescuing with tied and making me waste a bunch of time
This is a seriously solid glimpse into how to support your teammates, keep a questionable random alive, and communicate effectively. It’s true that support is basically the greatest strength of survivor teams and often means the difference between a win and loss, but imo this is mostly relevant to three-four stack teams. As a solo player or duo player, I think selling becomes a lot more viable because communication and support are a solo/duo teams greatest weakness unless you know the kiter has the resources and skill to rebound without the support of two other people, aka when you don’t have to means to bring out the babysitting tactics (no offense lol). As a duo player and harasser main, my take on selling is that it’s a decision that has to be made based on who the hunter is and who your teammates are. If the hunter is a strong camper who relies on presence, selling your teammate may be the wisest thing to do - just to deny the hunter additional early presence and keep the survivors ahead in tempo. If the hunter is someone likely to harass ciphers and not hard camp, selling is less effective. What I think it comes down to is that selling/saving from an early down is a gamble either way - just depends on what kind of risk your team comp is better prepared to take. Even a single competent harasser can’t keep a teammate with no game sense/kiting ability alive once they run out of items themselves or get downed for interfering, especially if the hunter is a much greater danger at full presence. I do know that, as a duo player, selling easily makes a draw obtainable from a camping hunter in high griff, but by selling you’re also almost always giving up the win. My fellow solo/duo players are all out here praying for the kind of coordination and communication you showed in these matches 😭
I hate those kind of people whenever you say "Don't rescue me!" And then the team mate goes to untie them. Like I get you are trying to help your team to help the survivor who got chaired and rescue he/her but they specifically told you too not rescue them.

One of my friends was chaired and I was still decoding(and I think I was too far but either way I couldn't save). Here's the thing about WHERE they were chaired: they were chaired near the cipher the Mercenary was decoding at. Now, knowing that the Mercenary has a decode debuff and that Mercenary IS a rescuer, the merc player went off to save my fr- HAH just kidding, HE DIDNT SAVE MY FRIEND! My other friend(who was playing toy merchant i think dont remember) had to go rescue and the MERC STILL DIDNT HELP! BARELY! Not to mention that he also intentionally messed up the cipher calibrations at a cipher I was going to, and had my friends not alerted me about that(we were in vc btw), I would've been found. In the end, we went to the post match and CALLED THAT MERC OUT. His excuse? "Well someone was going to save, plus its too early". DUDE, YOU'RE THE MERCENARY! YOUR JOB IS TO RESCUE! I understand that everyone hates getting downed at 5 ciphers and its a pain to rescue in the first place, BUT WHY PLAY THE RESCUE CHARACTER IF YOU'RE GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT RESCUING?! Absolutely ridiculous man,
If you have harrasser or survivor that can protect themselves like seer, forward,anti etc it is fine. If no harrasser or survivor with strong item, it is better to go for the tie.
I'm glad to see you're back, your videos are always so creative and the explanations so detailed, I love them. I main Merc in rank since most people don't want to play rescuer, and there are many things to take into account (who is the hunter, how far are you from chair, is the chair in a bad place, do they have items etc.), but I usually try to give a second chance to the person chaired, because sometimes we're just unlucky. I once rescued after half a Prisoner that went down at 5 ciphers and he managed to kite until last cipher was primed with Batter support, and it was a win. So yeah, teamwork is the most important thing when playing survivor, I wish more people understood that instead of being toxic to others for making mistakes and making everything worse.
I remember them i got downed at 5 ciphers and after i got rescued (after the half but still) i kitted almost entire match (got downed at last cipher machine but it was almost done)

Seeing ur video maked me thinking about my rank match with a team with 3 players can vc. I was knocked out at so early game because of polun (just 50% decoded progress). As usual, i thought they would sold me for a tie, but alice players came and rescued before half, let me use tide tuner, then rescued me twice and body blocked. Fiona supported me too 😭😭😭. Thanks for their supporting and cipher rush, i kited until cipher pop, and until the exit gate was opened, we won bruhh. 120s containing the hunter 😭🙏🙏. After that rank match, sometimes we play together, and i always give the rd one more choices. Some of them cant do a rebound kite, but sometimes they can make a tie, or a win match!!!
3:50 thing is that some hunters get destroyed by harassing by not getting the down quick enough, even if only 2 ciphers get done* if nobody got chaired after 2 ciphers i'm pretty sure you're at advantage. Early harass as batter and wildling is fine, for forward for example no he's better for rebound.

i think it def works at times. i remember a got downed at 5 ciphers as professor because i didn't know where the hunter was coming from and i accidentally got through their way. That was obviously like a free hit for the hunter and i wasn't able to kite more than 40 secs because i was in a open area. A mercenary immediately rescued me and i managed to rebound kite up to 2 ciphers. We eventually won with 3 survivors remaining.
Honestly I used to never save at 5 ciphers either, but now reflecting on it I realize that I do end up saving that early about 80% of the time, just because atleast as a Toy Merchant main i know I can help the chances of them having a good rebound kite by a lot with my catapults and by giving them an extra item if needed. In lower tiers they never accept your support when playing as Anne, so before then it was a lot different. But nowadays I rarely have the issue of people not using my items I set for them. Yeah, I used to not rescue at 5 ciphers but I ended up rescuing at 5 ciphers most of them time. xD And ah, Toy Merchant. I like to play her sometimes. It feels so nice when a teammate uses your catapult and items and they kite longer because of them!
Reminds me of a recent match we played, I was prisoner then hunter was Naiad, a rando got down at 5 ciphers, since my friend was playing enchan on 36, I told them to rescue then harass hunter to help the early down and I could finish their cipher instead. They rescued the rando and body blocked, then me and seer finished a cipher. I went to enchan's cipher and connected to seer's new cipher. By the time the psychologist (that got early down) gets downed the second time we're already down to 2 ciphers, with seer's cipher halfway done. Seer went for rescue cuz they had 36 and I took over their cipher. I connected it to another cipher and started decoding. Seer rescued, body blocked, and enchan went to harass again. Seer and enchan supported psychologist until I primed last cipher, in the end we got a 4-man 🙏
This reminded me of when I was going to rescue a teammate and even said I was coming as merc with no damage and while I was running I saw someone else going to the chair. It was kinda annoying but then I was actually pissed cause the person went to the chair and didn’t save and by that time I was too far to get the person in the chair so ofc we lost.
Im gonna be editing this comment as the video goes on but hers: 3:28 I literally got to Alicorn or Unicorn rank last week, and literally NOBODY WANTS TO CARRY TIDE… so I go out of my way as a Barmaid main to sometimes carry tide.. 5:48 A lot of times it happens, and I’ve also done it sometimes (not on purpose ofc) or sometimes the hunter knows the cipher is being decoded and brings them close enough to stop You from decoding, not the best feeling when this happens
I remember a ranked match with my friend. Me and my friend were both playing forward and we both were a tide turner build. We were playing with a prisoner and a little girl vs a sculpter, my friend got chaired super quick because the hunter found him first and baited every pallet and then downed him. I was on the other side of the map decoding around 70-80% and the little girl (whom i will call a leach) was syncing with me. I ran over to help my friend as fast as i can to help him and behold, the leach without tide turner rescued my friend. What? The leach didn't even body block and was only farming points. My friend was downed again and the leach saved him again. I knew my friend was gonna be dead because i did not have a straight path that can save my friend in time. So i kited the hunter my friend was dead and 4 ciphers remaining. I was going to run through the pallet but the leach knocked the pallet over and i could not run through. I ran to the side but I got hit by the sculpter and crushed by the statues. And then I died. The prisoner tried to come over but i was dead. The leach then got caught and was spamming, "Help me!" And that is the story on how the leach killed EVERYONE in the team. That is why, In my opinion, I hate online little girls.

Ngl rescue-ing teammate are the one who give me big opportunity to rank up, stepped out from low tier's hell. I'm that solo player that always bring tide, picking a support (postman) or kiter with good rescue ability (professor, gardener, perfumer). When rescue early in 5 cipher, I want to stall time as much as possible. Either hide and carefully sneaking to the chair or just deadass come early and try kite in front of chair if hunter already know where I came from, get hit, and do the rescue. I rescue before half, so my teammate can get another chair to waste hunter's time. This strategy can bring a better vibe to team, because another teammate usually want to rescue too and even tried to kite together, worth a lot of time until cipher ready. This can be applied to heavy camper, but rescue 90%. A lot of time I face bonbon and selling my teammate, no, it's a pure loss every single time. Better try to rescue or at least set a tinnitus to keep hunter camping.
Well I had a match with a doctor and a two little girl(I was playing as the mind eyes) when doctor got chair by bloody queen, I left my cipher and go to rescue doctor, after the doctor was eliminate, I was the next victim for bloody queen, when I got chaired the two little girl didn't rescue me, I was waiting until I got eliminate
I'm playing solo and using emma before..my teamate tell me to change to other character but i didn't..usually i can do basic kite at least for 60 sec..but that time i got down early and even got chair basement..i already tell my teamate don't rescue me if i down early but that one player using fiona the one who tell me to don't use emma..she rescuing me 😭😭 she doesn't even have tt..for thank her i tell myself i shouldn't get down anymore (it was my last chair)..we got win though hehe and i survived until the end of match
Usually i have a gew categories in these situations: !!(OVERRIDES ALL OTHER SITUATIONS!!) If the hunter leaves the chair and doesnt come back (confirmed by someone being chased or chaired teammate says hunter changed target) GO RESCUE!! If the ciphers are half or more done, rescue before half but pop your cipher first if possible If low cipher percentage, rescue before flying Of course there are specific scenarios where you have to do something different, but my general guidelines are the above If someone wants to give asvice please do!! I appreciate it :]
As someone that's a main hunter and I play survivor, I think about all the possibilities that me and the people I get matched, have. For example, if someone's down at 5 ciphers and the decoding was a little bit down, I prefer to rescue when there has been some done. But sometimes, the randoms think is better to decode, and I don't go to the rescue because I main Luca 😅. Not gonna denie I sometimes carry tide with him because none bring...
This may seem weird but this is actually why i started maining harassment characters of course i still play my go to minds eye and mechanic although whenever we have no people to harass the hunter i will usually end up switching for things like this that happen as most of the time im the only one who wants to save at 5 ciphers meaning im most likely gonna be the only one to help the survivor kite and harass the hunter.
I think it also depend on situation and character that ur teammate play or face with. If hunter is mad eye,breaking wheel or clerk, u should never sell ur teammate cuz u won’t be able to decode ur cipher. Or if ur teammate still have item left or skill that can be useful to kite after rescue such as seer(have owl) forward(have rugby) priestess(with broken map) it’s maybe worth to rescue. However if ur teammate 1 down early at basement with hunter that strongly camp, u should better sell them(except u r priestess maybe u can do sneak rescue) or 2 down early and no item left- after rescue they gonna die anyway (especially in high rank) ur rescue only give hunter presence and wasting ur tide tuner ,ur health and also ur time to decode the cipher 3 down early+ hunter best at camping such as sculpture guard26 even u r mercenary it still risk to failed rescue 4 down early+ hunter good at camping such as feaster violinist disciple luchino axe boy jack etc. if ur teammate have no ability or item to counter that hunter and also have no rescuer. U better sell cus it’s high risk to double down or failed rescue. To be concluded,My point is u should never blindly believe to rescue every teammate or selling ur teammate when they down early. Sometimes rescuing only make it worse since selling is a good strategy to get a tie and sometime selling make ur team lose if u aren’t camping titanus. China tournament is the best example for u to understand what I mean.
I keep in myself that saving someone at 5 chiper is important cuz I got this 1 match being chaired first as mind eye, and this embalmer not helping at all, he just emote and then go, (prob teaming) he could at least got hit a snd then rescue me
My DC friends had an argument with me over this because I prefer rescuing at 5 ciphers like this… it is very dependent on a lot of things but still 😭😭 I’m glad to see that I’m stupid or anything 😭😭 *and if I do rescue in this situation, I pallet support and bodyblock so pls don’t bash me*

idk if you mentioned this but if you do decide to sell it does negatively affect your team alot (the hunter can see if the 3 ciphers are shaking and just go pressure ciphers)
I have a question for everyone. Does anyone else experience really bad fps? And then it goes to high ping? This problem happened to me all of a sudden. My internet is pretty good and it isn’t a connection problem, but ever since this happened I can’t even play. The lag is terrible and I used to only have green ping but now it’s trash. Does anyone know how to help?
I lowered my graphic settings and play with an a tier or b tier depending on that and the map my ping will be good and sometimes it won’t it’s a little trial and error depending on the characters and how recently the skin is

The real problem is survivors don't want to play team helpers in rank. I'm so sick of everyone only playing their one "main". PLAY SURVIVORS TO HELP THE TEAM OUT PLEASE. there should never be 2 decoders or two rescue(depending who they are). I also really dislike these mains in particular: Gardner, lawyer, Tme, explorer, and coord. They're just so basic and bring almost nothing helpful to team comp
That's how survs with no skills end up ranking up and f up our ranks, begging hunters to get nerfed or throwing the match when they match with good survs.
Because the game is surv sided and literally no matter what you do or how bad you play CR will always save your ass. you don't have to be good at surv to win, at all. Literally go pallet spam and you've got a win

I play explorer and most of the time i rescue them quietly cuz the hunt always think nobody gonna rescue them lol

i think it def works at times. i remember a got downed at 5 ciphers as professor because i didn't know where the hunter was coming from and i accidentally got through their way. That was obviously like a free hit for the hunter and i wasn't able to kite more than 40 secs because i was in a open area. A mercenary immediately rescued me and i managed to rebound kite up to 2 ciphers. We eventually won with 3 survivors remaining.
Honestly I used to never save at 5 ciphers either, but now reflecting on it I realize that I do end up saving that early about 80% of the time, just because atleast as a Toy Merchant main i know I can help the chances of them having a good rebound kite by a lot with my catapults and by giving them an extra item if needed. In lower tiers they never accept your support when playing as Anne, so before then it was a lot different. But nowadays I rarely have the issue of people not using my items I set for them. Yeah, I used to not rescue at 5 ciphers but I ended up rescuing at 5 ciphers most of them time. xD And ah, Toy Merchant. I like to play her sometimes. It feels so nice when a teammate uses your catapult and items and they kite longer because of them!

Reminds me of a recent match we played, I was prisoner then hunter was Naiad, a rando got down at 5 ciphers, since my friend was playing enchan on 36, I told them to rescue then harass hunter to help the early down and I could finish their cipher instead. They rescued the rando and body blocked, then me and seer finished a cipher. I went to enchan's cipher and connected to seer's new cipher. By the time the psychologist (that got early down) gets downed the second time we're already down to 2 ciphers, with seer's cipher halfway done. Seer went for rescue cuz they had 36 and I took over their cipher. I connected it to another cipher and started decoding. Seer rescued, body blocked, and enchan went to harass again. Seer and enchan supported psychologist until I primed last cipher, in the end we got a 4-man 🙏

This reminded me of when I was going to rescue a teammate and even said I was coming as merc with no damage and while I was running I saw someone else going to the chair. It was kinda annoying but then I was actually pissed cause the person went to the chair and didn’t save and by that time I was too far to get the person in the chair so ofc we lost.

5:48 A lot of times it happens, and I’ve also done it sometimes (not on purpose ofc) or sometimes the hunter knows the cipher is being decoded and brings them close enough to stop

I remember a ranked match with my friend. Me and my friend were both playing forward and we both were a tide turner build. We were playing with a prisoner and a little girl vs a sculpter, my friend got chaired super quick because the hunter found him first and baited every pallet and then downed him. I was on the other side of the map decoding around 70-80% and the little girl (whom i will call a leach) was syncing with me. I ran over to help my friend as fast as i can to help him and behold, the leach without tide turner rescued my friend. What? The leach didn't even body block and was only farming points. My friend was downed again and the leach saved him again. I knew my friend was gonna be dead because i did not have a straight path that can save my friend in time. So i kited the hunter my friend was dead and 4 ciphers remaining. I was going to run through the pallet but the leach knocked the pallet over and i could not run through. I ran to the side but I got hit by the sculpter and crushed by the statues. And then I died. The prisoner tried to come over but i was dead. The leach then got caught and was spamming, "Help me!" And that is the story on how the leach killed EVERYONE in the team.
That is why, In my opinion, I hate online little girls.

Ngl rescue-ing teammate are the one who give me big opportunity to rank up, stepped out from low tier's hell. I'm that solo player that always bring tide, picking a support (postman) or kiter with good rescue ability (professor, gardener, perfumer). When rescue early in 5 cipher, I want to stall time as much as possible. Either hide and carefully sneaking to the chair or just deadass come early and try kite in front of chair if hunter already know where I came from, get hit, and do the rescue. I rescue before half, so my teammate can get another chair to waste hunter's time. This strategy can bring a better vibe to team, because another teammate usually want to rescue too and even tried to kite together, worth a lot of time until cipher ready.
This can be applied to heavy camper, but rescue 90%. A lot of time I face bonbon and selling my teammate, no, it's a pure loss every single time. Better try to rescue or at least set a tinnitus to keep hunter camping.
Well I had a match with a doctor and a two little girl(I was playing as the mind eyes) when doctor got chair by bloody queen, I left my cipher and go to rescue doctor, after the doctor was eliminate, I was the next victim for bloody queen, when I got chaired the two little girl didn't rescue me, I was waiting until I got eliminate
not bodyblocking, especially when they don’t have tide, is literally the most annoying thing ever.
I'm playing solo and using emma before..my teamate tell me to change to other character but i didn't..usually i can do basic kite at least for 60 sec..but that time i got down early and even got chair basement..i already tell my teamate don't rescue me if i down early but that one player using fiona the one who tell me to don't use emma..she rescuing me 😭😭 she doesn't even have tt..for thank her i tell myself i shouldn't get down anymore (it was my last chair)..we got win though hehe and i survived until the end of match
The people always harass me as hunter 4 of them. But they forgot to chipper. And I was confused why they did that. And yes I won with 12k deduction
Usually i have a gew categories in these situations:
!!(OVERRIDES ALL OTHER SITUATIONS!!)
If the hunter leaves the chair and doesnt come back (confirmed by someone being chased or chaired teammate says hunter changed target)
GO RESCUE!!
If the ciphers are half or more done, rescue before half but pop your cipher first if possible
If low cipher percentage, rescue before flying
Of course there are specific scenarios where you have to do something different, but my general guidelines are the above

As someone that's a main hunter and I play survivor, I think about all the possibilities that me and the people I get matched, have.
For example, if someone's down at 5 ciphers and the decoding was a little bit down, I prefer to rescue when there has been some done.
But sometimes, the randoms think is better to decode, and I don't go to the rescue because I main Luca 😅.
Not gonna denie I sometimes carry tide with him because none bring...
This may seem weird but this is actually why i started maining harassment characters of course i still play my go to minds eye and mechanic although whenever we have no people to harass the hunter i will usually end up switching for things like this that happen as most of the time im the only one who wants to save at 5 ciphers meaning im most likely gonna be the only one to help the survivor kite and harass the hunter.
I think it also depend on situation and character that ur teammate play or face with. If hunter is mad eye,breaking wheel or clerk, u should never sell ur teammate cuz u won’t be able to decode ur cipher. Or if ur teammate still have item left or skill that can be useful to kite after rescue such as seer(have owl) forward(have rugby) priestess(with broken map) it’s maybe worth to rescue.
However if ur teammate
1 down early at basement with hunter that strongly camp, u should better sell them(except u r priestess maybe u can do sneak rescue) or
2 down early and no item left- after rescue they gonna die anyway (especially in high rank) ur rescue only give hunter presence and wasting ur tide tuner ,ur health and also ur time to decode the cipher
3 down early+ hunter best at camping such as sculpture guard26 even u r mercenary it still risk to failed rescue
4 down early+ hunter good at camping such as feaster violinist disciple luchino axe boy jack etc. if ur teammate have no ability or item to counter that hunter and also have no rescuer. U better sell cus it’s high risk to double down or failed rescue.
To be concluded,My point is u should never blindly believe to rescue every teammate or selling ur teammate when they down early. Sometimes rescuing only make it worse since selling is a good strategy to get a tie and sometime selling make ur team lose if u aren’t camping titanus. China tournament is the best example for u to understand what I mean.
I was playing frederick and I got downed in like 5 seconds
And then once I was rescued I kited for 276 and made it to gate

I keep in myself that saving someone at 5 chiper is important cuz I got this 1 match being chaired first as mind eye, and this embalmer not helping at all, he just emote and then go, (prob teaming) he could at least got hit a snd then rescue me

idk if you mentioned this but if you do decide to sell it does negatively affect your team alot (the hunter can see if the 3 ciphers are shaking and just go pressure ciphers)

I have a question for everyone. Does anyone else experience really bad fps? And then it goes to high ping? This problem happened to me all of a sudden. My internet is pretty good and it isn’t a connection problem, but ever since this happened I can’t even play. The lag is terrible and I used to only have green ping but now it’s trash. Does anyone know how to help?
I lowered my graphic settings and play with an a tier or b tier depending on that and the map my ping will be good and sometimes it won’t it’s a little trial and error depending on the characters and how recently the skin is

The real problem is survivors don't want to play team helpers in rank. I'm so sick of everyone only playing their one "main". PLAY SURVIVORS TO HELP THE TEAM OUT PLEASE. there should never be 2 decoders or two rescue(depending who they are).
I also really dislike these mains in particular: Gardner, lawyer, Tme, explorer, and coord. They're just so basic and bring almost nothing helpful to team comp
That's how survs with no skills end up ranking up and f up our ranks, begging hunters to get nerfed or throwing the match when they match with good survs.
Because the game is surv sided and literally no matter what you do or how bad you play CR will always save your ass. you don't have to be good at surv to win, at all. Literally go pallet spam and you've got a win
