French Canadian here who was raised in Christianity, but every time i had questions to ask to pastors, the answers was always something like: It's the mystery of faith my child. o_o . So i became agnostic, i was unable to believe in things that i don't see, i was just playing video games and watching movies, drinking alcohol to escape this harsh reality. After 28 years i start to look at the bible again, read the whole thing, still don't believe, but there still some verses that resonate with me. Couple months after, i start reading the Torah, just to know better about the Abrahamic faith but this thing is huge, so i gave up -_- . Then, the only one left was the Quran. I had so many misconceptions about Islam. But when i start reading it, my whole life and perceptions about the true nature of God, this world and humans became Crystal clear. Everything that i always knew inside my heart was now here in front of me. I took my Shahada couple days after. And at the mosque couple months after. 3 Years now that i became Muslim. Brother I was born Christian and grew up that way, I know it’s hard to feel that you have been lied to your whole childhood, if you believe you read the word of God then God’s word should be perfect without mistakes, just research the Bible brother, ask yourself if you can go through the Bible without mistakes if you find a mistake then it can’t be the true word because he doesn’t make mistakes. But even if we agree that they are Side By Side this also destroy your concept of monotheism, how many God is in Christianity? Let's simply see it this way. The word Trinity comes from two words: "Tri" which means "three" and "unity" a state of being joined as a whole. Here is an example. I am a being but I have a spirit, a soul, and a body. That doesn't make me three beings. God is made up of the Father, the Son (the Word), and the Holy Spirit. That doesn't make God three Gods. In the gospel of John, the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us as Jesus. Not because God wanted to add human nature to Himself but rather to save the human race. The wages of sin is death so man has to die for sin. So he became a human being to die in place of human beings. A human must die. For God to show mercy and justice at the same time, that's the way to do it. The fig tree issue is in a context. The fig tree's leaves grow together with the fruit. If you see leaves, there should be figs. So seeing leaves and no fruit means it is not going to bear any. The reason why the book of Mark says it wasn't the time for figs meant that it wasn't time for figs to be harvested because they were immature at the moment. Immature figs can be eaten by the way. Yes, He could make it bear fruit but He cursed it to show what would be the fate of His people who are not fruitful spiritually but look like they do. Jesus said that trees that do not bear fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. (Matthew 7:19). Finally, we can't all be serving the same God. If a Muslim says Jesus is not the way and Allah is not lying but Christians say Jesus is the way and Yahweh is not lying then they all can't be true. That's impossible. I choose to be Christian because, in Christianity, God breached the gap for us to come to Him. In other faiths, you have to figure it out yourself. You have to work out your way to your deity. That's not love.
People don't understand that the Word of God (Logos) was made flesh, a man. This is Jesus. He was the eternal, divine Logos, the Word of God, but was made a man. Yet his identity of the Logos did not change. This is what John 1 says. Human nature was not added to God's divine nature. On the contrary, the Logos became a man and the divine power was left behind. God's nature does not change. It was his nature to have his Word become flesh from the creation of the world. This is not change. That was and is his nature. Now, Jesus was not all knowing. He was a man, yet his identity stayed the same. He did not pretend to be a baby who learned. He actually was a baby and really did learn. Once again, they assume the Son of God was not a true man, but was split into two natures and two centers of conscience, one human and one divine. This is a Nestorian heresy. Jesus had one nature, human, but was divine in his spiritual identity. Regarding Deut. 6, The Lord is one, meaning one unity, not one alone, so this is not a correct understanding of the Hebrew. Now Jesus did miracles because he was given the Holy Spirit without measure. What he saw the Father do and say, that he also did and said. To see him was to see the Father. He never sinned and was a perfect man, totally dependent on God for everything, who did not glorify himself, but only the Father. He had to be a perfect man and he was.

However, this does not excuse him from the fallacy of choosing to speak from a place of authority without thorough intellectual deliberations as well as adequate knowledge of his subject. I will be pointing out at least one of the obvious fallacies, and opinionated acts of this Person who is presuming a place of authority on a very profound and established issue. He would have done much better to present this subject as an expository discussion rather than his brash tone to the extent he is seen as setting Jesus forth as grossly ignorant even on things common persons know as "COMMON SENSE". For example his observation of Jesus in the scenario of THE CURSING OF THE FIG TREE. He clearly believes and says Jesus was "IGNORANT" of the time fig trees produce fruits. He also presents Jesus as someone simply throwing a fit of anger because he didn't find fruit on this tree. He questions WHY ANYONE WOULD CURSE A TREE FOR NOT HAVING FRUIT out of season. This is pathetic to say the very least. He claims the KORAN HOLDS JESUS IN THE HIGHEST ESTEEM but it is obvious this Person doesn't. How could someone, as Jesus who was chosen by God for such an important place, be so ignorant of simple things, as well as openly, petty, ill-tempered, and illogical in his behavior. Immediately it begins to stick out like a sore thumb that there must be other things here not understood or overlooked. All might not be immediately evident at the surface in this scenario of JESUS' CURSING OF THE FIG TREE . But a little pause on the passage will raise a few relevant questions. The knowledge that it was not the time of figs was given us by one passage Mark.11:11. Matt. 21:19 did not say anything about the time. Both texts are from the Gospels, which were written by Disciples or Followers of Jesus. It is absurd then, that Jesus would not have known what was common knowledge to his Disciples and all persons who live where FIG TREES GROW. So the relevant Question is; why was Jesus looking for figs when it was "NOT THE TIME OF FIGS"?. So we need insight from another source. This insight reveals that it is not the rule, but the exception that some fig trees do have fruits when most others don't. Fig trees shed their leaves in late fall. This also coincides with the ending of the fig season. So we understand that the trees that usually have no leaves also have no fruits. But trees that have leaves at this time may also have some figs remaining. All this might not be in the passages, but it is clearly evident if one takes just a few minutes to look at the passages that record this event. Both passages are careful to mention that THIS FIG TREE HAD LEAVES. And this raises the other logical and relevant question. Why does each writer emphasize something we would expect to be the most normal thing about a tree with fruits on it? I have never seen fruit trees with only fruits and not leaves. So we need to take a closer look. In concluding, I do not wish to appear wiser than anyone. I took time to understand things and utilized the source of those more knowledgeable than myself. So I invite you to bear with me yet a little further as we conclude. Let's read this passage together. Mk.11 :13 AND SEEING A FIG TREE AFAR OFF HAVING LEAVES, HE CAME IF HAPLY HE MIGHT FIND ANYTHING THERON: AND FINDING NOTHING BUT LEAVES: FOR THE TIME OF FIGS WAS NOT YET. Note that Jesus who was hungry had seen this fig tree from a distance. It is clear that what attracted him to the fig tree was its HAVING LEAVES. So this was the key LEAVES, because at this time most fig trees are without leaves or losing most of their leaves. The tree we could say was well clothed so he had to search under the leaves. He only hoped he would find something on it. But the emphasis on leaves is yet again emphasized, after searching, FINDING NOTHING BUT LEAVES. So we see clearly it was not totally unreasonable for him to search the tree. The point He made here is that the tree's departure from what is usual, is not firstly failing to have fruit. IT WAS IN FAILING TO HAVE FRUIT when it HAD many LEAVES. So we would say (in personification) of the tree. It was "PUTTING ON A SHOW THAT IT DID HAVE FRUIT". Of course, this is still not entirely what the lesson of the fig tree is about. Jesus was giving A profound lesson at a significant time this was a day after His TRIUMPHAL ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM Matt. This act of Jesus whose wisdom exceeds even the wisest man Solomon was not empty antics. It was a lesson to all. It was symbolic of Israel. This was the time he wept over Jerusalem Lk. 19:41-44 This was not Judgment on a fruitless real fig tree. It was of ISRAEL, the CHOSEN NATION to whom he had before likened in a parable, as THE BARREN FIG TREE Lk.13:6-9 Here Jesus shows the Master's suffering and patience with the BARREN FIG TREE. Here was His Judgment of a NATION THAT ONLY HAD APPEARANCE OF FRUITFULNESS. This is the REAL CURSE on them Matt. 21:43 THEREFORE THE KINGDOM OF GOD SHALL BE TAKEN FROM YOU, AND GIVEN TO A NATION BRINGING FORTH THE FRUITS THEREOF. It is also sadly ironic that the speaker here who claims to wonder why Jesus cursed a harmless fig tree, failed to wonder also why, IF AS HE SAYS JESUS COULD NOT BE THE CREATOR OF FIG TREES, HOW COME HE HAD SUCH POWER OVER NATURE TO CAUSE THE TREE TO WITHER AND DIE BY THE NEXT DAY. French Canadian here who was raised in Christianity, but every time i had questions to ask to pastors, the answers was always something like: It's the mystery of faith my child. o_o . So i became agnostic, i was unable to believe in things that i don't see, i was just playing video games and watching movies, drinking alcohol to escape this harsh reality. After 28 years i start to look at the bible again, read the whole thing, still don't believe, but there still some verses that resonate with me. Couple months after, i start reading the Torah, just to know better about the Abrahamic faith but this thing is huge, so i gave up -_- . Then, the only one left was the Quran. I had so many misconceptions about Islam. But when i start reading it, my whole life and perceptions about the true nature of God, this world and humans became Crystal clear. Everything that i always knew inside my heart was now here in front of me. I took my Shahada couple days after. And at the mosque couple months after. 3 Years now that i became Muslim. Jesus who is supposed to be God says John the Baptist is the greatest person ever born of a woman, which makes him greater than Jesus, as JESUS WAS ALSO BORN OF A WOMAN. They basically shot themselves in the foot, by saying that Trinity is not Co-Equal.. meaning Jesus is not equal in knowledge than the Father.. so how can that be when monotheism means God is only One and God is all-knowing.
When you affirmed that Jesus is a leases authority than the Father you have destroyed the Equal standing of God-head. Meaning they are not side by side they are actually a hierarchy.
But even if we agree that they are Side By Side this also destroy your concept of monotheism, how many God is in Christianity? How can they claimed God is One but there's actually another Person on the throne? Wait there's actually 2 Person beside God's thrones which is Jesus and the Holy spirit, that's already means there's 3 !

Let's simply see it this way. The word Trinity comes from two words: "Tri" which means "three" and "unity" a state of being joined as a whole. Here is an example. I am a being but I have a spirit, a soul, and a body. That doesn't make me three beings. God is made up of the Father, the Son (the Word), and the Holy Spirit. That doesn't make God three Gods.
In the gospel of John, the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us as Jesus. Not because God wanted to add human nature to Himself but rather to save the human race. The wages of sin is death so man has to die for sin. So he became a human being to die in place of human beings. A human must die. For God to show mercy and justice at the same time, that's the way to do it.
The fig tree issue is in a context. The fig tree's leaves grow together with the fruit. If you see leaves, there should be figs. So seeing leaves and no fruit means it is not going to bear any. The reason why the book of Mark says it wasn't the time for figs meant that it wasn't time for figs to be harvested because they were immature at the moment. Immature figs can be eaten by the way.
Yes, He could make it bear fruit but He cursed it to show what would be the fate of His people who are not fruitful spiritually but look like they do. Jesus said that trees that do not bear fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. (Matthew 7:19).
Finally, we can't all be serving the same God. If a Muslim says Jesus is not the way and Allah is not lying but Christians say Jesus is the way and Yahweh is not lying then they all can't be true. That's impossible.

People don't understand that the Word of God (Logos) was made flesh, a man. This is Jesus. He was the eternal, divine Logos, the Word of God, but was made a man. Yet his identity of the Logos did not change. This is what John 1 says. Human nature was not added to God's divine nature. On the contrary, the Logos became a man and the divine power was left behind. God's nature does not change. It was his nature to have his Word become flesh from the creation of the world. This is not change. That was and is his nature. Now, Jesus was not all knowing. He was a man, yet his identity stayed the same. He did not pretend to be a baby who learned. He actually was a baby and really did learn. Once again, they assume the Son of God was not a true man, but was split into two natures and two centers of conscience, one human and one divine. This is a Nestorian heresy. Jesus had one nature, human, but was divine in his spiritual identity. Regarding Deut. 6, The Lord is one, meaning one unity, not one alone, so this is not a correct understanding of the Hebrew. Now Jesus did miracles because he was given the Holy Spirit without measure. What he saw the Father do and say, that he also did and said. To see him was to see the Father. He never sinned and was a perfect man, totally dependent on God for everything, who did not glorify himself, but only the Father. He had to be a perfect man and he was.

It is a sad fact that the growing social media culture is far more interested in POPULARITY rather than MORALITY and that the objective is to be SENSATIONAL rather than RATIONAL. This is also sadly a trait of human nature. However, when one asserts or presumes the place of moral and intellectual authority on any issue or issues. Such persons have a responsibility and obligation to be factual and fair in all Discussions and Conducts.
I will gracefully presume that this speaker whose objective is to prove that Jesus is not God is maybe honest in his conclusion of such, but lacking in the analytical skills to discern for himself whether this is true from the presented evidence from the Bible and, or other sources. However, this does not excuse him from the fallacy of choosing to speak from a place of authority without thorough intellectual deliberations as well as adequate knowledge of his subject. I will not be dealing with the DIETY OF JESUS, or the TRINITY right here. I will be pointing out at least one of the obvious fallacies, and opinionated acts of this Person who is presuming a place of authority on a very profound and established issue.
He would have done much better to present this subject as an expository discussion rather than his brash tone to the extent he is seen as setting Jesus forth as grossly ignorant even on things common persons know as "COMMON SENSE". For example his observation of Jesus in the scenario of THE CURSING OF THE FIG TREE. He clearly believes and says Jesus was "IGNORANT" of the time fig trees produce fruits. He also presents Jesus as someone simply throwing a fit of anger because he didn't find fruit on this tree. He questions WHY ANYONE WOULD CURSE A TREE FOR NOT HAVING FRUIT out of season. This is pathetic to say the very least. He claims the KORAN HOLDS JESUS IN THE HIGHEST ESTEEM but it is obvious this Person doesn't. How could someone, as Jesus who was chosen by God for such an important place, be so ignorant of simple things, as well as openly, petty, ill-tempered, and illogical in his behavior. Immediately it begins to stick out like a sore thumb that there must be other things here not understood or overlooked.
All might not be immediately evident at the surface in this scenario of JESUS' CURSING OF THE FIG TREE . But a little pause on the passage will raise a few relevant questions. The knowledge that it was not the time of figs was given us by one passage Mark.11:11. Matt. 21:19 did not say anything about the time. Both texts are from the Gospels, which were written by Disciples or Followers of Jesus. It is absurd then, that Jesus would not have known what was common knowledge to his Disciples and all persons who live where FIG TREES GROW. So the relevant Question is; why was Jesus looking for figs when it was "NOT THE TIME OF FIGS"?. So we need insight from another source. This insight reveals that it is not the rule, but the exception that some fig trees do have fruits when most others don't. Fig trees shed their leaves in late fall. This also coincides with the ending of the fig season. So we understand that the trees that usually have no leaves also have no fruits. But trees that have leaves at this time may also have some figs remaining. All this might not be in the passages, but it is clearly evident if one takes just a few minutes to look at the passages that record this event. Both passages are careful to mention that THIS FIG TREE HAD LEAVES. And this raises the other logical and relevant question. Why does each writer emphasize something we would expect to be the most normal thing about a tree with fruits on it? I have never seen fruit trees with only fruits and not leaves. So we need to take a closer look.
In concluding, I do not wish to appear wiser than anyone. I took time to understand things and utilized the source of those more knowledgeable than myself. So I invite you to bear with me yet a little further as we conclude. Let's read this passage together. Mk.11 :13 AND SEEING A FIG TREE AFAR OFF HAVING LEAVES, HE CAME IF HAPLY HE MIGHT FIND ANYTHING THERON: AND FINDING NOTHING BUT LEAVES: FOR THE TIME OF FIGS WAS NOT YET. Note that Jesus who was hungry had seen this fig tree from a distance. It is clear that what attracted him to the fig tree was its HAVING LEAVES. So this was the key LEAVES, because at this time most fig trees are without leaves or losing most of their leaves. The tree we could say was well clothed so he had to search under the leaves. He only hoped he would find something on it. But the emphasis on leaves is yet again emphasized, after searching, FINDING NOTHING BUT LEAVES. So we see clearly it was not totally unreasonable for him to search the tree. The point He made here is that the tree's departure from what is usual, is not firstly failing to have fruit. IT WAS IN FAILING TO HAVE FRUIT when it HAD many LEAVES. So we would say (in personification) of the tree. It was "PUTTING ON A SHOW THAT IT DID HAVE FRUIT".
Of course, this is still not entirely what the lesson of the fig tree is about. Jesus was giving A profound lesson at a significant time this was a day after His TRIUMPHAL ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM Matt. This act of Jesus whose wisdom exceeds even the wisest man Solomon was not empty antics. It was a lesson to all. It was symbolic of Israel. This was the time he wept over Jerusalem Lk. 19:41-44 This was not Judgment on a fruitless real fig tree. It was of ISRAEL, the CHOSEN NATION to whom he had before likened in a parable, as THE BARREN FIG TREE Lk.13:6-9 Here Jesus shows the Master's suffering and patience with the BARREN FIG TREE. Here was His Judgment of a NATION THAT ONLY HAD APPEARANCE OF FRUITFULNESS. This is the REAL CURSE on them Matt. 21:43 THEREFORE THE KINGDOM OF GOD SHALL BE TAKEN FROM YOU, AND GIVEN TO A NATION BRINGING FORTH THE FRUITS THEREOF.
It is also sadly ironic that the speaker here who claims to wonder why Jesus cursed a harmless fig tree, failed to wonder also why, IF AS HE SAYS JESUS COULD NOT BE THE CREATOR OF FIG TREES, HOW COME HE HAD SUCH POWER OVER NATURE TO CAUSE THE TREE TO WITHER AND DIE BY THE NEXT DAY.
