Always my favorite videos on the interwebs, but only a wakeboard purist would make a wakeboard video on the perfect glass-calm day, and cross the wake getting air on his slalom in the next video😂😂😂. Keep ‘em coming Shaun; your videos make winters in WI less of a bummer!
@shaun.murray…I’m there and some…turned 62 in June and retired in September. I’ve always been the dad with the boat teaching others to get up, so my skills are pretty basic. I finally had some time to start working on my own skills in September and was pretty pleased with how much I progressed. I’m looking forward to next summer and more riding time of my own.
I love the idea of a 155. Been riding your 150 since it came out. I am 6’4” and 190 lbs and 56 yrs. old. The bigger board is just more enjoyable to me. And I still enjoy wakeboarding over surfing.
This is some great research! I know some people who want to water ski again as older adults with some extra weight gain. This puts it all in perspective. I'd like to know the pull for getting up on double skis out of the water. Also would be interesting to see the pull for dock starts.
Great test and it looks so easy. Try locking your feet in a slalom, use an underpowered runabout boat and add a well nourished diet. The time, distance and force seem way higher .. hundreds of pounds . Like with an exponent . It takes me 100 feet to get above the water on my Tahoe T16/75 hp w an HO Omni. Thanks
I always wondered what line tensions were maxed at but it looks like the measurement units are mixed between KG and LBS. Although I would like to see who can hold on to the tightest whip.
Sweet rides, I was wondering, do you wax your boards/skis/wing? if so how often? Would you be willing to do another video comparing waxed vs unwaxed line tension?
Awesome I figured the big wakeboard or Foil would be lowest. Lots of lift on both. Foils are also just so efficient. Speaking of efficiency... I'm assuming the foil had the lowest tension once up and riding 🏄♂️🪽. Do you happen to have the numbers from just riding normal and straight for the MINIMUM tension on each?
Caught me! And impressed you saw that. Yeah, kinda weird but since I was a kid that’s what happened and didn’t notice until I was older for some reason.
Back when I used to wake board I couldn't hold on to save my life with the plowing method so I started turning the board so just the nose was out of the water and poped me right up the first try give it a try let me know what you think
Super fun video and love the spin with the tech behind the various boards!

Videos with a touch of science always catch my attention. 😊
Like Mr Wizards World if you’re old enough like me!

Nice work, great video!
I expected more resistance from the slalom ski, but then again the one you used is pretty wide compared to a competition slalom. Happy New Year!
Love it !
I would love a 155!!!! I would buy one. I'm currently rocking a 155 slingshot because they are the only ones that make them and I'm a big boy.
Heard. And a flex board behind the boat isn’t the best thing to ride in my opinion, for getting air that is.
I wonder how much line tension there is when I'm forced to pull a tube.
I think this proves the big board theory of allowing you to stay out longer. That said, if you want to get ripped, ride a 120cm!!

I’ve been there begins under powered things and feels like 400lbs!

Waxed? Haven’t ever waxed anything for the water. Yet
First!?
Love the comparison here and I guessed deep water salmon!
Nice one! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Awesome

Slalom is definitely the hardest
Wait! What? Your regular foot on everything but goofy on slalom and hovercarft?

I do it in the pro start edit and while it’s not too much tension it takes way more balance in my experience
I have a friend who rides your 150 but would likely benefit from something even longer. He’s 6’5” and weighs about 250 lbs.
That’s what I’m talkin about! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
155! 160 while you’re at it 🙏. The tall guys among us need some more meat!
What a beautiful place, in which part of the USA is that lake?
Central Florida
