I'm crying because these young ladies gave their all. When my foster sister was a little girl back in the 70s, the Special Olympics were still very new. There was no place for the physically and mentally challenged to practice and many clubs even turned us away, so that my mentally challenged sister never even learned the basics. This just gives me so much joy AND there is an audience watching and encouraging the gymnasts. My sister has now transcended. Her favorite thing to do which I taught her was a forward roll along with her Disney princess pose! Her PE teacher said she did this for an hour every time she came to class. Eventually she could stand up after the roll. Good memories.

The woman 👩 on the beam DID BETTER THAN I COULD DO!!! BRAVO 👏 🎉TO ALL OF THEM!!! ❤❤❤
Just try standing on a balance beam, let alone jumping or turning around on one - , it’s incredibly difficult to not wobble or fall off! You need great muscle tone, spatial awareness and most of all, you need real courage - you can really hurt yourself falling on these things. Bravo ladies - you are awesome 👏🏻

It's truly a crime that the Special Olympics aren't televised the same way the standard oned are. These athletes are owed the same attention and recognition as typical gymnasts, if not more.
