Geez. This video explained better in 3 minutes than my networking professor took 15 to explain. Nobody understood what he was talking about in class...
oh my god THANK YOU for actually explaining what this is... EVERY single other source I found online used the most roundabout way they could think of, to explain it. I had to try and "read between" the lines to try and figure out what the hell they were trying to say. Is saying "Instead of everyone using the same password to login, they each have their own password" really that hard?
Great video CBT Nuggets I liked it a lot. It explained a whole lot very quickly and efficiently which is what I love. That being said I purchased the official CompTIA Study Guide and in there it states that the RADIUS server is a middle man between the WAP and the AAA server, but this video doesn't talk about an AAA server. So my questions are, do AAA servers exist and if so, is there a difference between a RADIUS server and an AAA server?
Hi, Mo! Yes, AAA servers exist. AAA is more of a framework for RADIUS and LDAP, so it will have the benefits of AAA. TACACS+ uses AAA, along with other authentication protocols. It wants to ensure it has the Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting. On a lot of Cisco network devices when configuring RADIUS you have to set up and configure AAA. Hope that helps!
@@benchmarks1016 no worries, thank you for the reply! Just wanted to make sure we could help you find the technical resources you needed. Hope that the presentation went well!
FINALLY a good, quick and to the point video! thank you CBT Nuggets!

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that my BLEEGH is being authenticated by my company's RADIUS server. (Thanks for this helpful video!)
...and I just passed my Network+! Thank you CBT Nuggets
Congratulations!! Thanks for training with us.
