Guru Sri. Nedunuri Krishnamurthy explained the raga "Kambhoji" and taught Sri Ramadasu Keertana "Yemayya rama" to music lovers through the Malladi brothers.

Once when my Master Sri.M.Chandrasekaran accompanied him on the Violin at Sri Krishna Gana sabha , I was escorting my Master and whispered whether our Nedunari Garu will sing this Emmaiya Rama keerthana today , he replied, I will request him, may be if he is in a mood , he may sing it.On that day he elaborated Mohanam and sang Evaroora ninnuvina and I thought I was unlucky. As once raga Mohanam is elaborated any vidwan will not embark on Kambhoji in the same concert . But Nedunari Garu was so compassionate to my Master's earlier request that he inserted a filler in Jonpuri and sang Emmaiya Rama beautifully and let the Tani Avartanam also.Sri Palghat Raghu played a mesmerizing Khanda Chaapu Tani on this Keertana and I was so overjoyed that day , thanked my Master with great respect and love.

I heard this song "emaya Ramaya" in a radio concert during in 1979. From that day, i became his fan. After the advent of cassette this was one of the first songs I recorded. This song and the kapi raga song Janaki Ramana is also my favourite.
