Brilliant video Paul very well explained and I’m glad when you showed the line crossing linkage actions you clicked both apply boxes so that it saves the settings. At first I only clicked the one apply box and I couldn’t work out why it wasn’t saving the settings but as in your video you have to click apply again in the second box for it to save the settings..

I have been in contact with the fitter but he says he’ll get back to me when he can, The only app I have is the user one, he did all the setting up from his pc.( he does it for a living ). My home situation is , I have a longish drive from my garage where the line break cam is, with a fence all the way to the bottom, so I asked him to do the line across from end of my house to the fence, he should know how to do it. Since it’s been in it’s missed milkman early hours and paper boy, And today I reversed my car up, no notifications.
I’ve had it in for two weeks and it’s never picked the milkman up.
I’m not bad on the pc but anything new?

I have DS-7P08NI-K2 nvr... Can I connect other brand cameras for line crossing, or which camera is best supportable on this nvr.. As I did showing setup failed..
The answer to this is no. For line crossing and other higher functions like intrusion detection etc you need to stay with the original manufacturer.
ONVIF is the protocol that allows different combinations of CCTV equipment to be added together but, this is on a very basic rule that doesn't cover higher functions like line crossing and intrusion detection.

I currently can only use a total of 2 line crossing on all the my cameras, i have 4 cameras in total so only have 2 camera with line crossing, any ideas? Would a bigger TB make any difference? Thanks
Hi PAUL , that’s a very clear informative video. I have had a new system installed by a fitter. I am not computer literate really, Chinese to me. Lol. He has set the line across my drive and I have set my phone to receive notifications, but I’m not getting 100% line break notifications, probably 75%. Any idea

Hi Barry.
You should really get nearly all of them. Although it has to be said that the push notifications are coming through their server.
Always remember that the line crossing takes roughly 15 - 18 seconds to reset after someone has tripped it depending on which model DVR you have and, push notifications for these 'events' will only be pushed through to your device once every 60 seconds. Not matter how many times it is tripped in that 60 seconds period.
Maybe this is your issue?!
P.s. Your line crossing line 'Must' be nowhere near the edges of the image! Make sure it is somewhere close to the center of the image! Or somewhere near because, the DVR needs time to register the movement in the frame to know the line has been crossed.
If this is not possible I'd switch to an 'intrusion detection' event instead to get the best results.

Hi mate . Can you help . I’ve set up notifications on a Turbo dvr. 7 colorvue 2 mp cameras and 1 ptz.
I’ve got 1 line crossing on . I’ve setup the Hik-Connect app and setup the notifications on the phone and on the dvr. However it’s not showing the thumbnail notifications pics on the phone?? Just a black box? I’ve contacted hikvision support with mixed answers .
What could this be? Have I missed something or is it something todo with bandwidth???

How do you add your mobile number so it alerts you?
Install the Hik-connect app onto your phone or device and then 'enable notifications'
Adding a phone number in the DVR is not required.
