    My hair loss was definitely hormonal. I was recommended a book, Cleanse to Heal, it's not for everyone but I had to completely change my diet and started taking supplements. After over a year my excessive shedding has finally decreased significantly. Thoughts and prayers to everyone that is going through this, it can be very hard on your confidence 💕

    What an informative and important video Marlena. I have been following you from the very beginning. I love that you are sincere and your genuine caring personality shows through. I have joined you both in tears and in your celebrations. Losing hair for a woman is so traumatic. I have had fibromyalgia for over 20 years. I am 64 and recently cut 4 inches off because I was losing handfulls of hair - it's so emotional. I am rocking a much shorter cut. I have lost 60 pounds in the last number of years and I have changed how I eat. I actually went 1 full year with no sugar. Thank you - this video gives us hope! So much love to you and your beautiful family!

    Thank you - I started losing my hair as a fourteen year old - went to doctors and had blood tests etc. I was told it was female pattern baldness. At that time - back in the 70's there was little information out there and it wasn't as common as it is today (at least it seems). Hair loss has been something I have battled with for over 40 years now.... I am grateful for your heartfelt testimony about the fact that we are more than our hair - and that hair is only one part of what makes us beautiful. I know that there are others who deal with even more challenging issues but frankly
    this has been a big one for me - because it is so noticeable and also hair is so highly valued in our society. I do try to do everything I can to encourage hair growth and keep the hair that I do have and I am grateful for every hair that I do have :)

    I feel you, sis! It's like losing your "crown" when you lose your hair. I lost my hair twice and mine came back, and abundantly, through the AIP paleo diet. • @TerryElisabeth
      @TerryElisabeth 2 роки тому +11

      @@staceyb.5878 Hi Stacey! It stands for Autoimmune Protocol. It's a diet designed for people dealing with autoimmune issues. The first phase involves eliminating all foods which are commonly known to cause inflammation and autoimmune reactions. Then, once you experience considerable healing, you reintroduce foods one at a time to see which ones are your triggers. I've been on it since April 2019 and it's the absolute best thing I ever did for my health. I've gotten my life back. If you search AIP paleo you can find lots of info. The book "The Paleo Approach" goes into detail about, not only the diet, but lifestyle changes as well. I don't know if you have autoimmune concerns but I thought I would answer in full for anyone else who might be curious. If you do deal with autoimmune issues, I am glad to answer more questions for you ❤

      AIP diet, I’m telling you! I’m 33 and started losing my hair in chunks. When I implemented AIP it all grew back (and the chronic pain condition I have eased dramatically). It’s life changing and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The main culprits for people seem to be gluten, sugar and dairy.

      @Carolina-rd3gh 2 роки тому +2

      @@dopehat868 I have pain on my scalp and I barely eat any sugar or dairy. Worst thing I eat is bread and I still lose hair. You simply cannot regrow hair with diet if the cause is genetic (which is for most people with AGA, the most common hair loss). You have no idea what the cause of hair loss of this person is so it is super irresponsible to be recommending random stuff that worked for you, especially when you could be wasting the person's time by trying out for months something that would never work unless they have your exact problem.

    I also tested negative for Celiac disease (yay!), but when we tested my stool, my naturopath suggested going gluten-free for three months because the gluten was causing other issues (I'm afraid I can't remember the specifics). Turns out, that was the key to my seemingly uncontrollable inflammation. I had gone through some treatments for SIBO, but we weren't able to crack the other issues until I eliminated gluten. In fact, after about 6-8 months I was able to slowly re-introduced eggs and dairy back into my diet, and had no issues with MOST of it (a few issues with skim milk and soft cheese, so I don't eat those). Thanks for the update on your hair, glad you are finding solutions!

    OMG Marlena this video was so great, thank you for sharing! I too had my gallbladder removed...I was 19 years old, a sophomore in college, right before the fall semester started, it was crazy. I'm now 41 years old and man it's been a rough ride with my digestion and food allergies. My doctor at the time NEVER told me that I'd have permanent digestive issues as I got older. It's nuts how much they didn't care back then to inform patients of the potential issues they'd have.
    It took a while to figure all this out over the years, but I now do the same thing - digestive enzymes, customized probiotics (gut health test as well), and other supplements every single day. The healthier my diet is, mostly plant based with fish, I tend to notice I'm at my best. And I just got the iRestore helmet! I can't wait to try it, and I also use Vegamour products, which I have used before and they really do work. I'm hoping in conjunction with the iRestore it'll really help boost the growth of my hair. I really don't want to chop it all off, but I might, not sure yet. Covid really messed me up, hair loss was a major issue. Plus the other autoimmune issues I have that created some hair loss as well. And I don't have much hair to begin with, super fine blonde hair, so I am conflicted about what to do with it. I am very self conscious about going really short because I am worried I just won't look even a little pretty...hair loss makes me feel so down about my appearance, but I know I shouldn't. Looks aren't everything, and I've always been one who opted for the natural look because it's what is more comfortable for me, but chopping my hair off, I'm just nervous...super round face, not sure it'll work 😞. But really great video, thanks so much for sharing your tips!

I did end up cutting my hair, I'm not crazy about it being shorter, but it's so much healthier now and it's growing back, so I'm hoping all this plus the iRestore helmet will get me back to where I was many years ago. My dear , i have AGA , found out at the end of 2019 , i had such fine hair and tried rogiene but stopped cuz i didn't like applying it two times a day
    Now in 2022 i have grown my lost hair by 70% (it took time) but i am happy that i pulled through using essential oils methods ( it works but more slowly than other options) also used hair tonics sprays two times a day
    Changing diet is SO IMPORTANT as you said
    Green vegetables is such important factors
    Also i take my vitamins regularly
    Goning sulphate free in shampoo & conditioner
    Using silk bonnets
    I hope my journey hepls anyone
    You may be sad , but with hard word , it will improve
    Also your hair doesn't define you , Distract yourself with other things like sports
    Go STRESS FREE by using less social media , trying other hobbies like knitting (my current) will help reduce so much stress

    I'm so gland that you reached out to the holistic health practitioner and got to the root cause instead of bandaging the symptoms. In the long run, treating symptoms only goes so far, whereas dealing with the root cause, you can reverse the condition in most cases. I had my own health issues in the past and took a similar approach as you and ended up being a holistic nutritional practitioner myself. LOL!

    Marlena I got really sick in 2020 right when Covid hit. After many hospitalizations I was finally diagnosed with autoimmune cirrhosis of the liver. Then in 2021 Jan I was hospitalized because how low my platelets were. I had to get my spleen removed because of that I had to take blood thinners for clots. When I started that medication in March 2021 I began to lose so much of my hair. It was really hard on my self esteem. Since that happened I’m still struggling trying to get my hair back. My braid literally lost about a inch in width. I just started doing this fenugreek spray for my hair and I already can see my hair growing back and a change in my hair texture for the better. I’m not saying nothing else can help but just saying this after everything I had been trying I can see some changes and thought I’d share.
    Love ya Marlena 😘♥️

    I came down with the delta variant of covid. Was sick in bed for two weeks. Anyway at the three month mark my hair started to fall off. I mean half of a what you'd say a FULL THICK SET OF HAIR. I ended up with only half. It's been horrifying to me because like I said. I used to have a full set of hair. I've been trying hone remedies of rosemary, aloe vera and coffee and it seems to have helped. Thanks for the inspiration you give. God bless you. I own a tattoo studio and a customer recommended a hair dresser who was just starting out and I like giving people a chance and I was like it's just hair it will grow back😂😂😂😂 I was so stupid. That girl broke my hair so bad I lost about 11/2 feet of hair immediately then I had to get more cut off because it kept breaking. It's been a year and it's still breaking and falling out plus whatever she put on my hair made it's way thru my body and my eyelashes fell out. Omg I would have tried anything so when you talk about doctors not being able to help and reading and trying and nothing is working I feel you totally so hearing you today has given me so much hope there aren't even words to thank you but thank you ❤

It has been depressing because it m a hairstylist. Hair is my world. I have recently started gluten free, dairy free, very low sugar, no processed food and no refined oils. I don't know what is working it's magic but I'm feeling good! My libido is coming back, I can go #2 daily (sorry tmi) and finally I can go several showers without cleaning hair out the drain! I have recently had a huge episode of Telegen Effluvium as the result of a Covid-like illness (tested negative but Dr. thinks it was false negative). When I went for a trim, I nearly had a heart attack as my stylist has really bright lights and the truth of the situation was revealed. It was all I could do to not have a hysterical crying jag. Some people scoff and say "Oh for God's sake, it's just hair." NO, it's absolutely devastating and yourare NOT vain or shallow to be heartbroken by this. I'm betting most of the people who are so disdainful of the anxiety this condition produces have never experienced it.

      @@marcterstegen1990 For now, yes. I'm seeing a fraction of the hair on the bathroom floor after drying my hair (we have white tile and my hair is dark brown) and in my hairbrush. I've had two consultations with specialists and they say I probably have some degree of hereditary female pattern hair loss AND and episode of Telegen Effluvium, which based on my history of several bouts of this is actually a chronic form of Telegen Effluvium. I have been advised to try a course of oral drugs to battle the chronic TE and the genetic pattern. It's scary to think of taking drugs (and if they work, would need to be for life). I only take one med, and I don't really like the prospect of taking more, but I do not want to go through life with severe hair loss. I don't have Jada's figure and perfect bone structure to pull that off, lol. Thanks for asking. My hairdresser has been a real friend through this-he cuts my hair on his day off so the salon is empty and he took all my photos that the specialists asked for (also on his day off in the empty salon), stored them for me in his drop box, then deleted them from my phone so I wouldn't have to be traumatized by looking at them. What a gem.

    After basically pestering my doctor about my hair loss, turns out blood test revealed vitamin D was low (due to us being more indoors due to pandemic and not exposed to sunlight). Was prescribed D3 and the massive clumping and shedding stopped! Went off it and the hairloss happened again! Went back to doc to get new prescription of it. I took the double dose vax since then and my hair continues to grow and gain volume. I continue to work on a haircare plan by reducing stress and doing things that make me happy and healthy. I continue to eat my veggies and drink water. Slowly incorporating exercise and take melatonin to help me sleep better. I’m also careful with a towel on wet hair and just blot my hair then wrap in a special hair towel to help dry it gently. My hair has stopped breaking and is more manageable. Have patience and listen to your body. Doctors may laugh but you know your body best too.

I started using Hair Restoration Laboratories Hair Restore Shampoo and conditioner. It isn't minoxidil or any other drug that you have to use forever. It has an ingredient that blocks DHT. My hair stopped falling out almost immediately...I just have the normal 50-100 hairs per day loss. As a super plus, the conditioner is excellent! I don't have to use a second conditioner for softness! I have BACKUPS!!!

    My hair started falling out in middle school. I had some condition when I was a toddler in which I had patches of extreme dryness followed by hair loss on said patch. My mom took me to the doctor and he gave me some cream that got rid of it. But then around puberty my hair was falling out in chunks but my lab work came back ok. Flash to me being 33 and my hair hasn’t gotten better at all. It can grow quite long and strong but the density is still quite low. I also did change my diet and started taking supplements but it doesn’t help. I don’t care too much about it most days but sometimes I catch a reflection of myself and nearly cry from how much of my scalp you can see.

    I’ve also had issues with hair loss due to the fact I had a hysterectomy at age 22. I was also diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder about 10’years ago. I felt I did everything except change my diet. This year I happened to get a new doctor who is also a natural path. She suggested going gluten, dairy, soy and nightshade free for 6 weeks then slowly adding back in one food type. Well after the 6 weeks, my hair absolutely grew like a weed and all my other gut issues subsided. She decided I have issues with gluten/dairy and she did say over time I could try adding back in the diary and the others but honestly I feel so great and my hair looks long and thick that I plan on just staying free of these food groups for the rest of my life. Not only that but I’ve dropped 20 pounds!
