  • Now that we are in the air, we need to learn to level off, change our altitude and airspeed correctly.

    This video on "Trimming and Power Usage" has been ESSENTIAL in helping me to learn to fly the Cessna 172 successfully! Many many Thanks!

    Having flown flight sims for many years I kinda scoffed at these basic flight school videos, figured I know what I'm doing right? Well no... I've learned so much from watching this series, really helpful. I guess I didn't know as much about flying as I thought. Looking forward to watching more.

    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Wow you have no idea how helpful your video has been to me. You see...like maybe some people...I knew how to takeoff (ok got it off the ground) and kept it in the air long enough to hope the gps would kick in to fly the plane to my destination...and then use AP and GPS Nav/ILS to give me a decent chance to land. At least that made the sim a little fun. But that got boring fast! This video alone (and your whole “old” and new series are phenomenal content) took me to a whole new level! I have been practicing FL changes, speed changes, climbs, descents all based on this video’s instructions. All I have to say is wow! And you are right...at some point it will click. It is so counterintuitive to think that the throttle control vertical speed. You just have to practice it to “get it”. Man thanks a bunch!

    Thank you so much for this. I continue to have a hard time wrapping my head around the proper use of trim but this starts to make sense. I'll need to watch this a few more times.

    Thanku 4 making this video, I am currently enrolled in flight school & having trouble making the connection of (pitch power trim) you explanation is helping me make the connection !

    This is a great video. I understood how trimming works only now. Power changes the vertical speed, trim changes the airspeed.

    Excellent video's. I wonder: Could you tell me about the graphical settings (rendering) of the video's you show us? Are the scenery video's all add-ons and what settings do you use? (what is the average frame rate in your settings)

    EXCELLENT VIDEO.. I noticed that the pilot needed to keep slightly correcting to ensure straight flight (the plane wanted to turn slightly right). This happens to me all the time in XPlane.. is that normal? I was starting to think it was my yoke..

    On your website you didn’t mention the kind of monitor(s) you use. I would like to know if it would be good to use a panoramic curved monitor i.e. ultra wide monitor? Or would you suggest 3 large flat screen monitors arranged in a curve? Thank you for your help and guidance.

    • @digitalaviator5088
      @digitalaviator5088  5 років тому

      No experience myself with wide or curved, but if your pc can handle the extra pixels I guess it would be nice to have

    I am also using the REP. I have found that I have to adjust the trim quite a ways nose up from the take off mark to trim for 75 knots. Why might this be?

    Good series! I have been watching to review and correct some poor habits developed over the years. I am getting back into flying more now X-Plane has gotten better, especially with VR. I would like to know more about ATC and instrument flying procedures. Currently, I am using Air Hauler and FSEconomy to provide a to fly to unfamiliar locations and P2ATC for ATC.

    So I have a question about using the rift for VR flying on. Plane 11. For now can you use the touch controls to do the yoke and that in the plane? How to you do the rudders without having the physical equipment.

    • @digitalaviator5088
      @digitalaviator5088  5 років тому

      I still use my joystick. Not the touch controls for controlling the plane

    • @Bush_Fam
      @Bush_Fam 5 років тому

      Digital Aviator what equipment to do you have. Can you control the rudders with the rift. Or is there an auto rudder function.

    • @digitalaviator5088
      @digitalaviator5088  5 років тому

      @@Bush_Fam I use the twist of my Logitech Extreme 2d pro joystick for rudder. It can do 3 axes

    would it be harder to use a flight stick when doing this?

    • @Gega_Zautashvili.
      @Gega_Zautashvili. 2 роки тому

      It depends on what u prefer. A yoke is usually more heavy than a stick. I personally prefer flying with a stick because its more intuitive. In the simulator however I think it will be easier when u are using a yoke but also depends on the hardware u use.
