This is Justin Bonitz doing a one-take performance off Tallah's first album, "Matriphagy."
#justinbonitz #tallah #thegenerationofdanger
I swear you are like 4 vocalists worth of range in one person.
Right his range is insane!
He’s like a mix of Devin Townsend and early Corey Taylor which is absolutely insane. Been watching him since he covered Given Up and he continues to blow my mind to this day
I really like the way Justin can so seamlessly slide between cleans and screams. I think this song really shows that. One of the best vocalists ive seen when it comes to that. Most guys have a very distinct scream voice and clean voice, and they kinda just have to switch back and forth. Justin's one of the only people I've seen who can find that middle ground so effortlessly
Reminds me of Mike Patton in that sense.
Corey taylor is great for that aswell I love it the technique is so sic love this guys presence
Not only he does that, but all the different screaming techniques he slides into as well. It's fascinating
Check out Devin Townsend from (Strapping Young Lad) and the (Devin Townsend Project) he is the king of that
Keith Buckley from ETID did the same for me back in the day! This is refreshing af lol
i love how much fun he is having. some people look so serious while singing or screaming. but he just looks like he’s havin fun
Yes he is so good
Yeah man this band is badass and having a good time too 🤘🤪🤘
This is how all metal heads should condone themselves in public while listening to metal.
This is underrated. Dude for sure is a vibe
@@grunklestan7864 😂 indeed!
Vocally, this is insane..... I sing in a Nu Metal band my self, and after listening to this, I'm considering hitting you up for a few lessons....... You rock brother........
What's the band called?
@@jesusisking1741 "rick astley"
@@marcelszekowski315 Diiiirrrttyyy hahah
@@jesusisking1741 darude-sandstorm is a really good song of his
i dont find his voice good at all.
When even the vocalist is nailing pinch harmonics and bends you know its nu-metal.
Gold
@@MrBoston1630 nu-metal gets an underserved amount of hate. People crapped on the whole genre for just a couple bands lol.
@@Madchris8828 You can thank Fred Durst for that, primarily. Although, it doesn't fall entirely on his shoulders. He was a huge part of it.
because there is no pitch) Vocalist's voice and keyboard are the only melodic instruments there which create the main vibe. Guitars sound like if you tried to growl without any voice behind it, there is no pitch (the same way pitch correction cannot correct your screaming because there is no identifiable note).
@@gregtheflyingwhale there will definitely be notes in a scream dude. Every sound you make has a frequency that is directed towards a note in a scale and chromatic note. Whether its pitch or flat it's still a note.
I love that he dances around and still crushes every track. Skills are legendary.
Favorite Tallah track so far. Can’t wait for Matriphagy.
I'm looking forward to hearing all of Too quick to grieve
@@AD-KHAOS for me just murder seed bro !:)
Here to give an update on the album
ITS FRIGGEN AMAZING
And it's epic
Overdressed for Overconfidence. Nice.
He is in fact marginally obsessed with the way he presents himself
This is the future of metal, holy shit so glad I found this band.
Its unique. Its not the future though. Its a style all to its own no one can really copy or mimick. Because there's no one like tallah
So by 4 do you mean slipknot, linkin park, mudvayne and korn? 🥺👉👈
Maybe system too. At 3:20. Sound like Job for a Cowboy in 07. Nothing like it before. 🔥🔥🔥
Same amazing
I gave up singing around 10 years ago, this song mades me start practicing again. Justin is so inspiring
I hadn't sung for 15 years, only just got back into it last year, and then discover Justin......... I don't think I will quit ever again, I'm inspired to keep going........
Now this is jazz!
I think this is more Afro-Cuban
yes.
You fear Jazz!
id recommend "dark noir jazz" some of that shit is darker than black metal lmao
2:30-2:38
Me trying to impress my crush in 1st grade.
Shoulda worked bruh
HAHAHAHAHA
Tallah is a national treasure. They must be protected at all costs.
Holy moly guacamole... what a vocal control from 2:52 on...
Seriously that shit sounded just like the studio recording. And I quite like hearing the screams after before the next vocals come in that you can’t hear very well in the studio recording
@@MystifiedSky39 I think the way they're distorted in the studio version sounds really cool and fits the song well, but I also love that we can hear it this way here.
I dont think is that hard if you try really hard and if you have experience whit harsh vocals you can do that easily whit some hard work
@@damf5488 what you just said makes no sense
@@Ron_Swanson i said if you have experience whit metal screams you can do that but you need to try really hard because is a really difficult thing to do
I would like to see vocal coach reaction to this, this guy killing it
Kardavox Academy would be a fantastic channel to get Justin on.
@@evanblake5252 agreed!
Hold my French toast , I'm bout to start posting this on reaction places
Your guys wish came true today
@@Jefftarnish Yep. 😎
Justin's dance moves MAKE this song and this video my GOD this is creepy AND HILARIOUS at the same time...
Thank you, Tallah, for the unintentional birthday gift
Hahaha same here! My birthday is today, this just made my day!! Happy birthday!!
Congratulations
Reading the description and realizing even incredible artists like you have to redo takes multiple times because you forget your own words makes me feel much better about myself
To be fair, between all his solo work, all of Tallah, and covers, he's probably got enough lyrics to keep track of that it gets pretty difficult at times. But yeah, I suppose even Justin, when in human form, is capable of mistakes.
I love how he is vibing.
This is kickass. Thank you Nik Nocturnal for showing me Tallah
The way you pull off that “That’s how I roll” in the final verse just reminds me of Tommy from Rugrats. That’s what I hear every time.
This guy is a great example of you don't have to dress the part to be metal af
I agree, completely opposite end of the spectrum, I could see him teaching at Harvard and shootin the shit wit the students 😎🤘🏾🔥
He seems like a chem teach at Harvard LMAO, love it
yeah but why wouldnt you wear band shirts and camo shorts and grow your hair long??
This gives me the same feel that Slipknot did when they first came out (not sound wise. Just the feeling that it gives off in general. Like this is something big and will be big) This has got to be the best track so far, it’s definitely my personal favorite. Love it.
Dude, you're disgustingly talented. This is probably my favorite track off the album thus far. Great stuff.
"Seeing Justin slay this recording while bouncing around and having a great time fills you with -DETERMINATION- CONFIDENCE"
Usually i don't find songs catchy the first few times, but this hit instantly.
3:57
Did he just... Do a pinch harmonic with his voice?
(This is only a joke, I know and had always known that this is Justin's signature whistle scream technique)
Right?! I was just tripping on that!
That is the perfect way to define it
Kind of, it's a whistle note that sits on top of the vocal chords, forcing stomach into it creates fry. :)
Whistle note, not a pinch harmonic.
You should see his Vocal contest video with Jared Dines way back in the day. The first time I ever heard anything from him and ive been following ever since. Hes so good
As a 41 year old metal fan this is refreshingly sick! Best band in 2020 in my opinion. 2020 was a shit year and these guys just made it better!!!
Same!!! Saw em liven ABSOLUTELY destroyed it!!!! Then Justin got on stage will All That Remains to fill in for Phil who got sick. Crushed it!!! Justin Bonitz is the damn man!!!!! Cool dudes, mingled at the merch stand all night! They won me over as a fan for the rest of my life for sure!!!!
This band doesn’t have the ability to be incompetent
Overcompetence, if you will.
;)
Clearly you've never seen Hungry Potoos on yt lmao 😂
@@jackrice4064 What exactly is incompetent about Hungry Potoos?
@@jackrice4064 justin's covers on there are taking the piss out of fans who think they're amazing and actually suck.
I got turned on to Tallah by a buddy. The first time I heard it I was like "that sounds like a UA-camr I used to watch a lot." I looked it up figuring it couldn't be the same dude, but holy hell it is! They've got a fan in me for sure!
Now I'm turned on too!
bruh you did so good on this that i showed it to a friend and they thought it was fake lmao
😈 banger 😈
Edit: dude Justin's vocal technique will never cease to blow me away - great performance too - I can't WAIT to see you guys live one day
Vocal tecniq he use to ' villiant from disney '
@@ณภัทรอุ้ยโพธิ์ฤทธิ์สกุล yeah apparently he's really good at voice acting. That explains why he has so much knowledge and skills on the mic
@@DylNyeTheDrummerGuy i dont know why but i love his vocal techniq . Lazy town maybe ? Lol
Have to agree on that fam🍻🤘
Going so casual over a pretty godlike performance proves the talent you have Justin. Keep it up, keep doing you, you're one of a kind
“Hey Justin, how many vocal styles do you want on this track?”
Justin - “Um..”
You are one of the most influential and inspiring artists to date for me , the ability to change up your vocal style and work so fluidly all the time , your effort for articulation and dedication to your passion makes me happy to see any and all videos you work on .
Dare I even say that had I not found you roaming UA-cam years ago I think I'd have given up on my own music endeavours . This song is amazing ,this video performance is also rightly just as amazing , whether it was take 1 or 50 , you nailed it.
Thank you for all your works and efforts ,you and tallah are killing it .
Peace.
This guy reminds of that one guy from Hungry Lights, I wonder what does he do now?
Same guy
I think he's in a nu metal band somewhere, cant remember their name tho
@@jesseleemann4458 You have a tough time with sarcasm don't you?
No this is the Hungry Covers guy
He looks a lot like the dude from Prilly T. too
Discovered your work as Hungry Lights 5 years ago and gotta say I was pretty pleased to stumble upon what you guys did with Tallah recently. Keep up with the cool creative stuff, I bet a lot of people will dig it.
I'll always been impressed by Justin's vocal abilities and outfits
I seriously can't wait to hear this entire album
What a legend.
Fucking love this guy
Damn it Justin, I'm back listening again. Just too good
Fucking hell man, those vocals are so clean and so incredibly brutal. Not to mention how mind-blowingly groovy those lyrics and vocal rythms are. It's like listening to some next-level old school Slipknot shit, especially together with those mean drums and raw guitars.. THIS IS IT, PEOPLE!
I enjoy this with every fiber of my body
I'm an old thrash metal era dude, went through my NuMetal phase in college...love death metal/metalcore of course...just saw these guys open up for All that Remains ..their talent, song structure, stage presence blew me away...met the singer selling merch, normal friendly guy ...my gut says they will end up being the biggest thing in metal to come since Gojira post 2012...I wish them much success.
I was so hyped this entire time
One of the most talented, versatile, and passionate vocalists I've heard in a very long time. Everything this dude does is fuckin awesome!!! You guys have an amazing career ahead of you, cannot wait for the new album! Cheers and support from CT, USA \m/ :)
Lmao 🤦♂️
Nu Metal isn't usually exactly my taste, but I am OBSESSED with this band.
Can't wait for the album guys! I actually snagged the very last Splatter Vinyl on bandcamp, so I'm very much looking forward to that.
Update: Nu Metal is usually my taste now, and it's Tallah's fault :)
This is not music...........
This is a theatrical musical with a FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC performance =D =D
track straight fire vocals expressive and energetic and the show and props are just ahhh magnific!!!! 9001/10 would deffo watch again.
This guy's voice is incredible... Holy crap
just saw you guys last night with Kim Dracula in st. louis...really enjoyed your set
I love how much he gets into it!
the only singer I saw being so much in what he does, that's perfect !
This is the very first instance of seeing someone 'feel' and groove to music the same way I do. I thought I was alone, and had my own unique perception that no one else has. I don't feel alone anymore. Fantastic performance, thank you!
when I'm not alright I come to this band
Your comment remind me this song: ua-cam.com/video/YGbXuxGh1Dk/v-deo.html
Been coming back to this video. So versatile vocals, really impressive!
Authentic person enjoying his singing, authentically. Such talent.
This album is gonna be blaring on repeat in my car for a LONG time.
Matriphagy has gone down as one of my favorite albums of all time
Justin is on another level vocally. Insane performance! Tallah really is a breath of fresh air!
Hell yeah I'm still here 3 years later
this is actual art. blown away by the this and the band. jeeeeeez
Might be the best song I’ve ever heard damn this band is going places
Now that is how it is done!! Justin, your obvious joy for what you do comes through in this truly entertaining performance!!! Dig it!!!! 🤘🤣
Stole my heart at 2:40
His voice sounds like a cross between Korn and Coal Chamber and Deftones and Mike Patton all rolled into one. And singing in such a really unique style and the way he changes the tone instantly is really incredible. And he makes it look like it is easy todo. But it must be pretty hard to keep recreating all those different changes in your voice. And having to remember which tone goes where for all the different lyrics in the song.
I'm not a huge fan of Nu Metal groups but I really love a few of the older Nu Metal bands. Such as the Deftones and Faith No More and Stain. And also
Static X. I believe Justin has a very talented personality and I will be checking out their group Tallah. Because I really enjoyed this song.\m/
AGREED! Im also hearing a bit of a Daryl Palumbo influence (Glassjaw) in the really emotive screaming bits near the 3/4 mark or so - but defo a lot of the above as well as, of course; COREY TAYLOR from the S/T album ;-)
Dude, your passion just pours out. You are really dialed in! Keeping it versitile at all time 🤙
You left me speechless for about 4 hours watching your Videos. You Sir are the most talented Vocalist/Musician i ever seen! Absolute Genius and mindblowing 🖤 keep up your Magic 👍
Tallah is so underrated, everyone needs to hear of Justin and his band
Totally. I get frustrated with how underrated they are haha
@@TheTheAndreiasantos me too haha
I remember watching your covers so long back when you had all your comments disabled. I was like 14. I’m 23 now. I’m glad to finally be able to tell you how talented you are. I just found out about Tallah yesterday and BOY. My excitement when I realized who it was. Congrats on everything you’ve accomplished. This shit is amazing
The song that I fell in love with this band!
This song has some of the coolest vocals I've heard in a while. Dude has versatility like Mike Patton. Fuckin awesome
If you ain’t having fun you ain’t doing it right.
Dude is having FUN.
His voice is absolutely amazing, when other people do this stuff you can tell taht like in other audios their voices are tweaked a lil but he keeps his voice pristine in all of them brooo
Im waiting for like 10 years that this guy gets famous... he is so talented...
When you get famous, remember I watch your channel since the beggining. You rock! 🤘
i love the sound of the snare drum
This sounds like a track that can fit really well on a NFS game.
This is next level!! 40+ feeling 20 again. This like everything I've ever listen to mixed up and made better.. Got my 17 kid into it too :-) What vocals too.. cant get enough
Face of a trainee geography teacher, voice of a fucking legend.
One of my favs!
well this is performance ... literal performance!
...so classy...and effortlessly delivering extreme vocals...😎😎😎
I fucking love this track
The little dance 😂 that's just me when I'm listening to rock
Este tipo es genial!!!
Tallah se ha vuelto una de mis bandas favoritas
Unorthodox but versatile and probably one of the best vocalists in music right now.
Just saw them live in SC. GODDAMN PURE TALENT. 🔥
Damn I didn't know my math teacher was so fucking cool
I remember you Hungry lights guy! i`m so glad to see you here! You won the contest in Jared Dines youtube channel and I loved your performance singing as a maid lol You know so many techniques and "play" your voice so perfectly! Keep doing your best with Tallah, Max and the other band mates. You rock guys!
PS.: Max, I'm sure you'll inspire me in your career as much as your father did. I can't wait to listen to the new album!
Love your song, you have an incredible talent. Keep it up, we love your signing.
i’m probably the only 11 year old tallah fan, but justin’s vocals are INSANE. my brother introduced me to him and i’m obsessed now.
I forget to breathe often. That says everything..
bro looks like a professor, moves like a professor, and sings like a God
Wow! Justin I’ve kept tabs on you for years but I really really am happy you got with Tallah. I swear it’s exactly where I wanted you to harness your sound and skill into! Bless brother bless. This i will be repeating as much as I did and still do for ghost feet.
P.S I was really hoping to go to the Tallah shows before covid as a bucket list thing, I still hope so one day.
I would personally love to see Justin collaborate with Devin Townsend. Magic could be made there.
I love your vocal and performance, they are amazing!!!!!
I checked these guys out from a guitar world article and I'm hooked. Great album
Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
hahahaha, this was the perfect response for this song! thank you for that
Lol this is f'n amazing! Like the song for sure but Justin, you've earned a new fan just from the show you put on while recording the song! That's the way a front man should be. All energy, all show!
