jspool, I'm glad I was able to help. It will take some practice but you will have it figured out in no time. Be sure to subscribe as I will have some new videos coming out soon!
Fixin to shoot my first HFT this Saturday and am going through my scope calibration process. Thank you for making such a clear step by step video for doing this process correctly and for sharing some great tips and insights for success in FT shooting. I'm really excited about wading in neck deep.
Good stuff Dave. Yup, that's the way I always did mine. I figured all the shooting it took to do it was extra practice. I just trust my own shooting more than the online apps for holdovers anyway.
Thank you for getting back with me on the scope. Where can I purchase one of those?. One more question, so are you saying that you can really tell the difference beyond 40 yd with that scope like out to 55 and know the difference.
Sadly, Falcon no longer makes that model. Their 5-25 Endura doesn’t go down to 10 yard parallax. Their 503FT is an excellent choice but kinda pricey. The Element Titan 3-18 with .2 mil hash marks is an excellent choice and the Athlon Midas TAC is also an excellent choice.
Thank you for the video,,, Really liked the explanation,, Instead of using mil dot's could you just make a correlation with the elevation turet ? My scope does not have mill dot's
Hi redauwg911. If you are going to shoot field target hunter class, you cannot do any adjusting to either the elevation or windage turret when you are in the shooting lane. Adjusting the elevation and windage turrets are allow and necessary in all of the other AAFTA classes.
Great informative vid. Trying to get into ft and this helps a ton. Have my first ffp on it's way to me. I see you are into rc as well. I race 1/8 electric buggy
If you would hook the end of your tape to the target, you could cut down on your walking. I usually spool out 60 yards of tape and put the target at 0, then move myself along the tape. Never underestimate the efficiency of a lazy man.
Thanks for doing this video very, very helpful. Hope to see you keep doing videos.
I’m just getting started in HFTI can’t even begin to tell you how helpful this video was for me. Thanks so much!

What is the exact optic that you are using?
It is a Falcon 5x30x56 First Focal Plane set on 16x for hunter field target rules. Love the Falcons!
