Not to mention Taylor was injury prone for at least half of his career and still put up 11k rushing yards and being #17 on the all time rushing list so they gotta put him in the hall for that alone.

Fred was a home run threat every time he touched the ball. Dude was incredible.
Can't even lie, he should be #1. He a top 20 rusher in league history. He overcame his injury problems and still was productive. He did it for a longer time. Was a part of more playoff victories. I know Boselli is the first pick and actually was a great player, but he doesn't edge Freddy T. No way, no how! I appreciate the extra off the field stuff Tony might do. Here’s a stat that nobody mentions. Taylor missed 55 career games and still retired as the 17th all time rusher. To put that in perspective, Emmitt Smith missed 5 games in his entire career.
If you do the numbers and give Taylor atleast half of those games back, he would have retired as the 3rd all time rusher behind Barry Sanders and in front of Curtis Martin.
If he had all of those games back then he would have retired 2nd all time with roughly 17,000 yards which would be 2nd all time.

You could use what-ifs, but part of greatness is always staying on the field and consistency. Growing up as a Phins fan, no one I feared more was him and Curtis Martin. Fred Taylor is an all-time great, much respect.

Fred was one of those guys that could strike anywhere on the field in any situation. He was clocked at a 4.39 but that game speed turned into 4.2 speed.
Speaking of the Dolphins do you remember that playoff game in 1999 where Marion was chasing him and the announcer said “bye bye” 90 yards.
Then on a night game he scored a 77 yard TD on the first play of the game.

the difference between Boselli and Freddy T is that Taylor was never the best at his position. Boselli was the best offensive tackle in the league when he played, and most likely would have been the best of all time without his injuries. I'm also a bit biased bc Tony is a close family friend of mine lol.

My favorite player during that era as a Jaguars fan at the time. Just wish he could've stayed healthy. He was definitely better than most if not all RBs during that time. No one had the speed, power and elusiveness he possessed 💯

This guy deserved a ring so much.
That 90 yard run against Miami in the playoffs was certainly impressive. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t point out Jimmy Smith looking like he was shot out of a cannon towards the end of that run. Fred Taylor had freaky speed for his size, but somehow Jimmy put on the afterburners and almost look like everyone else was standing still.
I'm a big fan of FT..nothing but respect!! Totally underrated of all RBs!!

Unfortunately Fred came on the scene in the late 90's when the premier RB's were Terrell Davis, Barry Sanders, Jerome Bettis, Curtis Martin, Eddie George, Marshall Faulk and Emmitt Smith (who wasn't quite what he was during there SB run but still among the most popular at the position) As someone who studied and appreciated the RB position probably the most going back to that time, Fred Taylor was absolutely in the same league as those RB's mentioned. It is absolute crime and shame that he only made 1 pro bowl in his career, and that was near the tail end of his career in 2007. He had 7 seasons where he rushed for no less than 1100 yards.
He's definitely the most popular. Great talent, wish he was on our team now.
