  • The Emory Voice Center uses botox injections to help a woman, who has spasmodic dysphonia, get her voice back. Voice disorders affect 7.5 million Americans, but because diagnosis of some of these conditions is difficult, many do not get the treatment they need. One voice disorder called spasmodic dysphonia can be treated with Botox injections, the same injections used to remove wrinkles. Spasmodic dysphonia is a condition where the vocal cord muscles contract and spasm, causing people to sound as if they are straining to talk.

This is only a temporary fix, anyone with the problem should consider voice /speech therapy

@@nisakocaman9330 Thank you so much for responding. I think I will try it and pray it works for me. I hear you have to do it every few months but whatever will help. I am 50 and haven’t seen or know any young people with SD most are older seniors. All the videos on YT are from 12 years ago and those ladies did not flinch lol. Thanks so much again for responding

@@She-N-Homes i got diagnosed at my 16-17 and i didnt get treatment about one year. So i know living with sd is suck cause nobody knows what is that. And now i am 18. İ heard that there are more old people who has sd too but you know i have too. Yes there is no such a channel which is talk about sd because its kind of rare. There is a channel called "spasmodic disphonia international" also this channel really help me mentally. And its normal that they dont even flinch because i think it is not that painful its just hurt a little. By the way i got my second botox after 4 month. But 6 month is good too. İ pray for you 🙏🏻
