She didn't learn a lesson. She found someone else to take advantage of. "The customer is always right" doesn't mean that literally, you have to understand the context too: it actually means "treat the customer as if they are always right." What an awful person though. I love that bright color just solid on the middle finger!

It’s through stories like this I learn things not generally taught, and I also learn from reading your readers comments, as well as watching you work. Please do story time more often.
There are scam artists and thieves everywhere, I bet you’re not the first tech she’s done that exact same thing to. She probably showed up late on purpose and has this routine with all the techs/hair stylists around.
You did the right thing. Get rid of toxic people as quickly as possible. She may have ‘gotten away’ with stealing from you, but as you said, your personal energy is much more valuable and she would have sucked you dry and destroyed you (I had a work colleague who terrorised me daily for 6 months until I finally quit). Keep smiling and only allow genuine people in your life. Especially if you work out of your home! 💕
I don’t know about the laws where you live-but here, that’s called *”theft of services”* and it’s a felony! I guess “on the bright side,” she “paid you” with a valuable lesson on not being taken advantage of again.😔
Well, I think you did the right way. You maintained your dignity in an impossible situation. Also, it’s best she did not become a regular customer because that type is always looking for something to get a discount or say you did something wrong or the show up late all the time. I’ve dealt with that myself and the first impulse is to just snatch their hand and cut off all the nails. But, then they’ll go around everywhere telling people how awful you are and ruin your reputation. It’s best to just get rid of them as fast as you can because who wants to be stuck with a client like that one. Peach is my favorite color. I love your nails. I would love to hear more story time. I’ve had a few clients who have done this Anastasia it’s so disruptive for a nail techs business, I now refuse clients anymore appointments especially when they repeat this selfish behaviour, you can’t help someone who comes with a plan to give you aggravation, customers like this are thoughtless & selfish nail techs can do without this negative energy it’s hard enough trying to build a business so dealing with people like this? I would have let her know that the service she had received previously was not considered extensions (meaning the 10 day rule did not apply here) and therefore not guaranteed to stay for longer than the night she needed them for, AND they lasted longer than you had said they would which means no, the $10 would not be enough.
She should have an agreement stating this because of this situation. Like a whole agreement stating that once the service is started, you are required to pay. Situations like this are part of the reason I was turned off from working as a nail tech or hairdresser. And the lady probably lied about them “lasting 10 days” I’m sure they fell off Day 1 or 2 and she waited the 10 days so it didn’t seem as suspicious. Ugh I wish she told her that she couldn’t get nails like that and that they had to be an actual full set
And she said the lady gave her $5 at the first late appt where she put the one nights on. FIVE DOLLARS! That's not even a tip for saving you at the last minute when you "needed" these nails so bad.
The story time is brilliant, and is priceless, I imagine a lot of people's (newbie) nail techs can find a lot of comfort and assurances from hearing about customers like this.

I bet you would be an amazing person to apprentice for! That's if you do apprenticeships. 😘❤❤ Sadly she probably went to the next nail tech and pulled the same bull! It's insane how many people in the world are like that! They go through life acting like they're owed things for just existing! They want the work and the product but dont want to pay for what they receive! She probably gets a lot of meals for free by carrying a dirty bandaid in her purse! Then she places it in the food and claims it was found there! In other words shes a scammer/con artist or just a straight thief!
I'm sorry that you had a client like that ❤️ Fortunately I've never had a client that refused to pay and I don't know what I would do if that happened. You were the bigger and wiser person and I think you were a pro ❤️ Normally I make sure to have written proof that I did inform them about possible issues when I accept new clients. That is ofcourse only if they request something that will not last for long 😊
She wanted something for free. We had a manager at our restaurant that would make a customer leave if they behaved like that. He would try to accommodate, but if they acted like that he would take the food off thier table and ask them to leave. He had worked in this industry for decades. Sometimes there isn't anything you can do and it's simply the person.
Cute design and I enjoyed the story time💗 that was such a terrible situation. I guess that's why nail techs now charge a deposit fee. It gives a little protection, because they are more likely to keep their appointment time ,as they made a prepayment for that time slot. At least they get some money upfront in case the client decides to be difficult.
Im a makeup artist and there was a time when one of my client refused to pay me after doing her makeup she kept making excuses and promised to pay me the next day. Next day she changed her number . Some people have no shame trying to look like something they’re not.
What an opportunist! 😤 You did the right thing. That past client isn’t worth your brain activity. I enjoy hearing your stories. I would enjoy hearing more! Positively gorgeous set! 😍
This set is so cute! I love every single nail. My mom would say ( about your problematic client) Whatever she owed you in payment is the price you paid to get rid of them and sometimes that is a great thing.
I would probably do the same thing. But wouldn't feel so terrified inside and definitely will not keep analysing and thinking like "maybe it was my fault". Now I will simply understand, that sometimes people may act this way, and it's better to not continue working with them. and.. probably ask for deposit for the next appointment 😂
@@Bonnie-lo3zh not paying for a service such as nails or hair etc is the same as walking into a shop and stealing, you call the cops if someone doesn't pay and tell all your service friends that she/he wouldn't pay.

@@Mir_Nohti but if someone steals from a gas station or something the owners of the place can lock the doors and call the police so what would be the difference doing it for a nail service? Genuinely asking…
Well.. being a nail tech myself, I would remove the nail extensions from her and all the remaining material, immediately dismiss her and never book an appointment with her. She would never leave my place without paying, let along with a brand new set of nails. There are so many people like her though. Trying to be the smartass, refusing to pay and get away with it. I have never encountered such a person myself, but the teacher I had during my basic education, taught us how to deal with such clients. So I was prepared for everything. She also taught us, how to spot the red flags, when we encounter with a toxic client for the first time. As I said, I haven't had a client refusing to pay. However, I've had one (she came to me for the first time) that said that she's forgotten to make a withdrawal from the bank. She told me to wait for her, as she had her ATM card, so she would go and do the withdrawal after the appointment. Of course I went with her, pretending that I was going out anyways, so she wouldn't have to come back. And so we did. I wouldn't know if she was going to come back, so I think I did the right thing. But I would NEVER allow a stranger, come into my workplace, have their nails done and leave without paying. I would never accept a client who is running late and of course I would never be rolled over for absurd demands. If the client wants to have her nails done by me, she has to respect my work, my time, my boundaries and of course me as a human.
I love this peaches manicure. As to the woman who didn't pay - you dealt with her very professionally, she's probably made a habit of using this gambit on every new nail tech she could find, because she was no longer welcome at any of her previous nail tech salons . . . Everyone working in a service industry runs into people like this who know how to manipulate situations. It will all come back on her at some point. You did the right thing.

You do beautiful work. I have always said if you know your good don’t degrade and talent by giving your service away by charging less because you are a good person or give them away. Nice work!
Thank you!
She didn't learn a lesson. She found someone else to take advantage of. "The customer is always right" doesn't mean that literally, you have to understand the context too: it actually means "treat the customer as if they are always right." What an awful person though. I love that bright color just solid on the middle finger!
Wow... my manicurist told me when she first started off she put a full set on a walk-in ($60) and at the end... they ran out the door without paying. I have seen that twice now at salons I visit. Yup... they are thieves. So she started having new walk-ins prepay for their service until they became clients. Also, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the peach design you did.
It’s through stories like this I learn things not generally taught, and I also learn from reading your readers comments, as well as watching you work. Please do story time more often.
Loved Storytime with Anastasia!! That lady should be ashamed herself. You handled it with grace. Xx
There are scam artists and thieves everywhere, I bet you’re not the first tech she’s done that exact same thing to. She probably showed up late on purpose and has this routine with all the techs/hair stylists around.
I wonder what she will do once she burns all her bridges and runs out of nail salons to scam.
Eventually she's going to run out of creatives to go to, especially if they are in a small town.
What a horrible woman, I think u handled her amazing 👏 plz continue the story's xx
You did the right thing. Nobody needs that kind of negativity in their life. Good on you for handling it so professionally!
I bet you have a lot of funny and interesting 🧐 stories to tell.
Thank you ! 😘
I work with people and you most definitely handled that situation 💯correctly
Thanks!
She definitely handled it better than I would've. That lady wouldn't have even had the temporary tips done. An hour late? Nope! I would've ignored her the same way I was ignored.
@@Nailcou difficult customers like this will and should bring out the absolute best in a nail tech....I know from my own experience as a nail tech that I take so much pride in my work, and I take it personally, an unhappy customer whether they are scammers or not has always caused me to strive to do my job better and improve my skills....at the end of the day I have always come out on top because it makes me WANT to Do Better.
I’m done with them, thank you for sharing your experience as hard as it is it teaches us something on how to stand up for ourselves & I bet no one treats you like this anymore? Your such a wonderful lady & awesome at your job I wish you every success because you deserve it dear, have a beautiful day & blessed week Anastasia I have huge respect for you👍🏽😊☕️🍰🧁🍩
Their are exceptions to that marketing rule because there are scammers in this world sadly
I always tell people, if they're refusing to pay, they're not a customer. Customers pay for work.
@@marysmith3057 - That’s perfect! I’m going to remember that.
Also "customer is always right" was originally a statement about demand and supply and not service. If you only sell your product in pink but blue is more popular you better get up and start stocking it in blue since that's what the customers want. But you're under no obligation to allow customers to scam you.
@@SusanIvanova2257 That's a shame that the saying has been distorted the way it has. Corporations and consumers use it to belittle and abuse service workers or anyone they view as beneath them 🤮
I called this client a garbage one. Good you are so professional to deal with her. I appreciate the way you throw her. To lost garbage client better than keepping her for and having stress. Keep up the good work Anastasia.
The set is gorgeous! I loved the glass nail! And storytime was great. Your voice is so soothing 🥰
You handled yourself with much class in that situation. Although she was an outright thief and did not deserve your kindness. You put so much care into your work and it shows so I am not surpised the nails lasted longer than they were supposed to this peach set was beautiful absolutely flawless.
Love the story time it's good to hear what goes on with those crazy clients. But that lady took your kindness for weakness.. Great set of nails as always..
You are an absolutely phenomenal nail artist. You designs are always so beautiful and your instructions are always so clear and professional. I love watching you create and learn so much from you.
What a gorgeous set! I love the story you told, I think you handled the situation really well. Much better than what I would have done. I'm going to learn from this.
I liked the nails very creative. And you handled the story well too- please continue.
Love peaches 🍑 totally my favourite fruit/flavour. And these nails are FABULOUS❣️ 😍😍
Anastasia, you are a very nice person. If it were me, I would have taken her to court and warned every nail tech in the area about her. People need to respect those in the beauty industry because it's getting bigger and more inclusive everyday. Also, I LOVE your story times so much and would definitely like to see some more on your channel!
I would love to see more videos like this and hear your experiences.
Absolutely Beautiful a Work of Art !! They are Beautiful 💜💜💜
Yep, peaches definitely look like butts!
And the nails are beautiful 💕
They’re beautiful. Yes I enjoyed story time. You have a really relaxing voice 🤗
I love the clear ring finger! Such a pleasure watching you! I can’t believe that happened to you when you first started but I agree that you did the right thing. Let her go and informed her, in a nice way, she wasn’t allowed back. Seems like she wanted a free set from the get go. I don’t understand how ppl can think this was of acting is okay.
I enjoy all of you're videos this one included, your story time I also enjoyed too it kept me watching as I wanted to hear how what was the conclusion lol . I am learning and hearing you're stories will give me tips on how to cope with clients as well as learning so much more from you're videos. Thank you x
please do more of these!❤️love ya!
It's great to hear your story as someone looking to enter the industry -- it helps to know what to expect from some people. I love you work!
I would have let her know that the service she had received previously was not considered extensions (meaning the 10 day rule did not apply here) and therefore not guaranteed to stay for longer than the night she needed them for, AND they lasted longer than you had said they would which means no, the $10 would not be enough.
She did tell the lady that .
She told her but Im pretty sure little miss scammer already knew that.
She already knows that, but she will act clueless. I would've taken the $10 and ban her from the place.
I agree, you definitely did the right thing to tell her no further appointments 🤗😎🙏🏽
Storytime was great, please continue I'd love to hear about your experiences. What an evil woman 😠. This set is gorgeous XXX
The story time is brilliant, and is priceless, I imagine a lot of people's (newbie) nail techs can find a lot of comfort and assurances from hearing about customers like this.
I enjoyed your nail art as well as your storytime! Thanx for Sharing Anastasia!! 🤩🥰
Great story! Thank you for sharing and I would love to hear more of them!😁I love your 3D art and all your nail videos.💅🏼😍
Gorgeous! Please share more stories🥰. As a Therapist, I’ve had no shows, non payment but nothing like y’all’s stories
Beautiful nails!! And yeah really enjoyed the story time
Awesome set and awesome storytime! I probably would hv cut them off n lost my mind but u are calm n collected. Thanks for sharing ur story
Gorgeous nails. Yes do more story time.
Good for your on the nail Thief👏🏽👏🏽. The nails look great. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills with us.
Love the storytime. I would like more of these kinds of styles 😍 It's interesting to hear your experience!! The nails look super cute too ❤️
Oh I do love your "peachy" nail Anastasia and the colour's are so soft...I really love that clear nail as well...I'm really glad you told that woman not to come back again she was so rude...you don't need client's that are going to stress you out...I loved story time...thankyou for sharing xo 💜💅💜
The way she didn’t show up and still acted so disrespectful towards you
I love that set you did! Very pretty! 🍑 My fav are the glass looking nails with a design on some of them or a few jewels .nice job! 👍 💅
She sounds like she was going to be trouble from the start! I enjoyed the story time. Also peaches is a slang term for butts too.
storytime is fantastic! I'm sure you have many many stories to tell and surely I'm not only speaking for myself when I say: let's hear them!
Story was good, I look forward to the next one xx
me too.....the story time is so valuable.
You are a lovely person. I have a business too of costume design and rarely these things happen, but I am the same way…I would prefer they just leave and not come back than insist on payment. We must take our loses and most of the time people are more than wonderful and grateful. Your work is amazing and your videos are great!!! ❤️.
this was honestly really relaxing to watch and listen to you telling your story, keep up the great work!
I think you handled the situation perfectly. You acted according to your character. I love the story time!
I did have a client who did not want to pay. She was like i forgot my wallet at home.i will send the money with my brother.she never payed . So i just decided never to do her nails again.
I had a client who did the same thing saying she left her wallet at home....she never came back to pay.
Thats why a lot of people demand a nonrefundable deposit when they book online. People are so nasty these days!!! Like, products cost money!!!!
Damn! You are a very patient person! This person is clearly crazy!
Love watching your videos and love this set tyfs 🧡🤍
Client is NOT always right Anastasia! What she did was very wrong and you handled it with so much class! You are amazingly talented and i am so glad you have a youtube! 💜💗💜💗
Yes story time is awesome! I had the same thing happen to me. Client would break one nail at a time and I think I ended up fixing all 10. 😞
Please do share story time videos...it truly helps other nail techs build their career with integrity and probably teach a client some professionalism in what we do...
They’re beautiful 🥺🥺 I aspire to create nails like this. I’m an enthusiast looking to get my certification but I have sooo much to learn!
I love the way you toldtold story a andd jumped right back I. With describing what your doing! 💖💖 YES MORE STORYTELLING
Love the story time and the nails are gorgeous as usual! You never fail to amaze me! I wish I was local to you so I could see you work in person! I bet you would be an amazing person to apprentice for! That's if you do apprenticeships. 😘❤❤
Sadly she probably went to the next nail tech and pulled the same bull!
I completely got hooked with the story. usually I skip ahead on nail designs so I can see the finished product but not with this one!
The nails are pretty....I like story time sometimes it can be teaching moments for us😄
Yes story time is very educational and very beneficial for anyone.
Keep telling your stories. I love your work. You are so talented!
Yes.keep the stories going
Your art is gorgeous and you are humble may God bless you and your family and business!
You said that you would act differently at this stage in your career. How would you handle the situation now?
I would probably do the same thing. But wouldn't feel so terrified inside and definitely will not keep analysing and thinking like "maybe it was my fault".
Now I will simply understand, that sometimes people may act this way, and it's better to not continue working with them.
and.. probably ask for deposit for the next appointment 😂
I wonder if it’s possible to keep someone locked in a salon if they don’t pay? Are cops called if someone refuses to pay? Idk what I’d do 🤠😂
@@Bonnie-lo3zh not paying for a service such as nails or hair etc is the same as walking into a shop and stealing, you call the cops if someone doesn't pay and tell all your service friends that she/he wouldn't pay.
@@Bonnie-lo3zh Locking someone into a salon for not paying is tantamount to kidnapping/holding a person against their will and is illegal. Truthfully, I cannot understand how/why techs don't ask for deposits/money up front, for each and every customer. There are tons of scammers/thieves out there!
@@Mir_Nohti but if someone steals from a gas station or something the owners of the place can lock the doors and call the police so what would be the difference doing it for a nail service? Genuinely asking…
Very pretty set , some people just feel a sense of intilement . you did the right thing for sure.
Well.. being a nail tech myself, I would remove the nail extensions from her and all the remaining material, immediately dismiss her and never book an appointment with her.
The peach set looks amazing!
I love the story time, but I don’t like that someone stole a service from you. Smh
Love the storytimes! Those are such pretty nails, I absolutely love them.
When you're almost finished and before you do the last application you should charge them
Right! Like after building but before designing. That's genius.
Sorry that happened to you. Any profession that deals with the public can get crazy at times. Im glad that you're still a great teacher/tech and your experiences can help others.
LOVE THE PEACH by the way! I don't use acrylic but I got into polygel recently and you (among a few others) are my fav nail channels.
Shame on her!! That was just extra experience for you, so its only one good thing of it.
I'm so sorry you had to go through that, that client took complete advantage of you. I've never been in that kind of situation before but staying calm like that and level headed is definitely hard. And those nails look absolutely amazing, They're so adorable! You're an amazing nail tech✨
It happened to me once and only once, by a regular, and i was doing this for maybe 9mos at the time. She calls me late, i cant remember the time but it was dark out and says i have somewhere to be, i need you, i need you, well the need didnt involve paying me. I clipped off her nail tips, down to the nubs and i took my e file and I made deep slashes into the gel on her nail beds, i gave her no part of my work to enjoy and then i left. Her husband was downstairs waiting so trust me she had no time for anything but showing off that mangled mess
I completely enjoyed story time. Very interesting story, sorry that happened to you. Also, I adore the peaches set. Beautiful
In every career we involved in there will be one out of ten amongst people which taking advantage and really irritated on their behavioir as our customer. And i really admire the way you settling down these issue appropriately
