Hey Eric! I just turned 18 last week and I’ve been with ya since I was 11. Thank you for making me keep interest in model railroading! With the older I get, the more my interests change. But trains have never changed for me. And I’m also so impressed and happy about how well your channel has aged, you always manage to keep it interesting as the UA-cam algorithm changes. Best of luck to you, I hope to continue enjoying your videos and hopefully someday share these gems with my own children. Thank you Eric!
Love the Canadian. I remember when it used to travel through Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and then on to Banff and through the Canadian Rockies to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They used EMD F7 and F9 diesel engines back then. Beautiful consists. Miss it so much now.
I have the Postwar Celebration A-B-B-A , 9 Passenger cars, with station sounds. I love the look of that train. It used to run across the state of Maine also! The Atlantic Limited.
Wow, that is a beautiful set! Love the ALCO FA-2's on the point! I wouldn't mind acquiring this set and the Post War set. Thanks for sharing this Eric!
My goodness what a beauty! Thank you for showcasing this wonderful set with us Eric! You have a real set to be proud of there! Keep it up my man I’m loving this series!!
That is a great looking, long, passenger train. I am currently piecing together a NS business train using the NS F-units offered a couple catalogs back. I have all four F-units, and 8 of the 21” passenger cars from the business and excursion packs. I figure I have about 5 more cars to go. Expensive, yes, but it will look great.
Hello Eric, Beautiful set of F3's. I had to sell my set of 1991 Sante Fe F3's that I bought at Bianchi Railroad in SF during the pandemic. Passenger cars and all. My PENN GG-1 and my EP5. Needed the money. Your lay out looks amazing! Beautiful set. Brings back a lot of memories. Thank you for posting this. Happy New Year!
She's a bute Clark. Merry Christmas 🎄⛄ Eric and family. Happy holidays. Thanks for taking the time to share this video with your viewers during the holidays.
That's a really nice set. You need to get a bigger house or a dedicated out building where you can get some long runs on a bigger layout to really appreciate a lot of the stuff you have. You really do have an impressive collection and I thank you for sharing it with us.
I put together a cotton belt ABA unit with an odd Canadian pacific b unit... making it an ABBA set. With 4 Canadian pacific passenger cars. I'm working on purchasing a NS abba set and finished the Conrail OCS SET. Just hate I can't find another conrail E8 to add to that set.
I remember your video on the NYC Empire State Stationsounds dining car, in which you pointed out that depending on the road name, there will be different voices with different accents and so on and so forth. It showed on the NYC and Southern cars featured in that video, and now it's further proven here on the CP variant. I also have a Stationsounds car in the class SP Daylight livery with pretty much the similar setup, as well as the voice and announcement sequences specific for the Daylight trains of that era. I actually find that pretty neat.
I've got a request for you. I love seeing your passenger trains with cars that have different names. I think you made excursions! So I would like to see a compilation of passenger excursions with the passenger cars having different road names. One more thing I would like to see at least 10 passenger cars on the trains, and different passenger locomotives, or a sd70ace pulling a union pacific train please.
I know you really try to stick with actual road names instead of including names found in motion pictures, such as 1976 Silver Streak. AmRoad 4070 EMD FP 7 leased from CP Rail. I enjoyed the movie, but it seems the picture company did some movie magic, especially putting the control stand on the fireman side. Also rigging the DMP aka Dead Man with a tool box holding it down. Anyway Great Video ! Happy New Year
Hello Eric, So, I am just getting back into the Hobby after many of moons have gone by and have stepped into the Ever-changing World of Electronics controlling the trains. I purchased an MTH 1 scale and had also purchased an O scale. Well, the 1 scale Challenger locomotive came with an MTH explorer and it works great. I am just a little confused as I understand that this DCS Explorer will also run my O scale MTH Allegheny. But if I am correct I will need to purchase a Different Transformer to operate the O Scale with the Explorer. Am I correct? As the 1 scale operates on DC while the O Scale operates on AC current. So, do I understand from your VIdeo link at the end that I can adapt my Lionel CW-80 transformer to the Explorer and operate the O scale engine with the app? Thanks for your Videos they are TOP NOTCH! By the way, did you win the Lottery? LOL
I thought long and hard about buying this set, however there are just too many issues. For example, why isn’t the baggage car fluted (i.e a Budd car to match the rest). Yes, CP had smooth sided baggage cars however they didn’t regularly run on the Canadian…. I bet Lionel they just re-used UP baggage tooling. Also, the domes aren’t the correct rounded Budd dome… they look more like a Pullman Standard ‘Strato-dome’. Another big one is that the interior layout of the Skyline (mid-train dome) isn’t correct. Just bizarre that Lionel would charge this much for a set and blatantly re-use tooling without much attention to detail.
Beautiful set, of course. I really like the realistic train sounds. But why do the train personnel sound so gosh-darn perky? Railroading was and maybe still is a rough business; experienced trainmen and dispatchers were usually tough, shrewd, and hard-boiled. These guys sound a bit like it's Howdy Doody time, or like clips from a 1950s serial like Sky King. I'm dating myself here, but really nothing has been quite that corny, earnest, and chipper-sounding since.

Have you ever done or looked for a steaming 4-4-0 old UP locomotive? That would steam from the funnel, pistons, and possible the whistle?

Eric, beautiful set. It looks great. It’s too bad that Lionel does not provide figures in their passenger cars.

Good looking set but the domes are wrong. They are the flat-windowed ACF style rather than the rounded Budd type.
6 motors?! It's pretty cool, have to admit. But.. Wouldn't the motors be fighting each other?
