Boarding house Daughters remind me so much of Roommate. I really like they are allowing some familiar Korean actresses to do variety more and allow them to let their hair down a bit and talk about normal everyday things just see how they live their lives outside of scripted comedy or drama. Plus I really love Park Shiyeon, Jang Shinyoung & Lee Dahae a lot so I want to support more of this show and hope it does well. 😙👌💕
Who remembers Siyeon when she was part of Family Outing? I liked her enough on that show but she was pretty quiet and meek and then her back injury unfortunately limited her actions a lot. I really hope that this time around she'll finally be able to truly break out of her shell and be comfortable being herself in front of the camera. Difference between this show and Roommates is...This show has older celebs trying to show a relaxed side to their tv/movie star image while Roommates had young idols and actors who were trying to get more publicity so they over exaggerate ev~rything.
Those who said this show is the same as Roommate seem like newbie to Korean variety show. Listen guys! There have been so many shows that have similar concept such as Reckless family or Idol party. Their cores might be similar but how things further develop are completely different. Though sometimes KBS is known for borrowing and recycling ideas, they're not that stupid to make it exactly the same as other shows to get criticised. While there have been more Korean people notice about patriarchal, male dominated culture in Korean media, particularly variety shows, it's a good thing that Kbs is trying to create more shows for and by women like this show and Sister's slam dunk (after having fired so many talented female hosts).
Amen. And i like shows like these. I dont care if these shows have the same kind of concept. To me its more about the people in it who make it different
I miss these kinda of shows that has similar concept with Roommate. Where they live together (I dont think they lived here together, they just spend the whole day together then go home afterwards), cook, eat, play games, comfortably talk with each other and act like a family. For example siyeon and shinyoung talk about their kids in later episode. I always keep coming back to watch the first few episodes 😢
I am a fan of Roommate and this reminds me of it 😭 Because of Roommate, I have known so many korean personalities 😢 It makes me sad and my heart aches to watch this but I'll give this show a try maybe this is more exciting than Roommate ☺
I really like this cast's chemistry. My favorite is definitely Yoon Soyi. I like that she's laughing all the time. I heard that she and Shinyoung will be leaving though, since the show doesn't seem to be doing all that well in later episodes. In my opinion, I think they shouldn't have left inexperienced actresses to their own devices. Such a shame since I find it to be such a waste of a great cast with good chemistry. If they had a well defined structure to the show, I think this would've been great. I finally understand why the 2D1N season 3 cast took so Iong to warm up to each other. Had they experienced such low ratings early on, someone would've been kicked out very quickly. Anyways, I really do hope that this show will find it's spark soon and I also hope that they could get the original cast together again in the future.
