I think that many men are confused because women who live in most poor countries are very open to dating men from wealthy countries. For example, Ukraine is as poor as Colombia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Thailand or the Philippines and additionally Ukraine is involved in a civil war. However Ukrainian women are far less interested in foreign men than women in other poor countries. I myself don't know why this is. Dating Ukrainian women doesn't seem to be much different than dating US or British women in spite of apparently the dire situation.
I believe that since about 2010 (?) when Ukrainians gained access to guest work visas to more developed countries, Ukraine is not different (dating wise) than for example the Czech Republic. It's not a sex tourist destination anymore. Consider St Petersburg, Russia if you are into that.
Marianna uses these terms when referencing her own paying customers... I'd imagine the first things these women focus on when they see the foreign guy: the make of the wristwatch (Rolex, or a Kraco), the type of shoes (Italian leather or tennis shoes), type of cologne, and overall hygiene. You stroll in wearing the right accessories and she's gonna be on you like white on rice.
I have visited Ukraine many times over 10 years; so I have lots of experience there. Ukraine is my favorite place to visit and the city I love the most is Kherson. :)

Well Conor forgive me if I'm going to repeat myself, but here's my take after several trips to Ukraine. Actually maybe a video would say so much in 9 minutes, I could give the advice to the Lemming types of men who spew forth from passport control Borispol, and then discuss their almosts, nearly not quites in the Departure lounge as the re-disperse to their home countries. Marianna is fairly typical Ukrainian woman and her life situation speaks for itself. She does know what she wants from men yet she's had her toes curl up from the obscene way decent Ukrainian girls have had their traditional dreams shattered by the menfolk. The family structure in countries like Ukraine is shattered and those cultures who realistically keep the meaning of family as no.1 goal can thank themselves not to have descended into this worthless chaos. I was last in Odessa, my last trip, in mid January '18...brr...I was in all the places Conor films and to cut this comment short. The Ukrainian woman I was having first two days dating with interpreter (last time I'd ever do that, and now with Bluetooth real-time translator (£35 Ebay) , you never need one of these helpful sorts.) She did me the biggest favour going sick day 3 n 4. Of course, after "vodka with beer or something more fancy". Then they start to attack guys in social network or so. This is their way to escape from their country with bad economic situation.
