wowserss...best eva!
That little improve piece in the last 5 minutes was so beautiful...so emotive. Nice job putting this together Brett!
Is this with the OXs (OXEN?) In the background Brett? Sounds incredible.
Steve Morse was the guy that smoked it. Damn.
Yes sir daddy!
Is there anything that even comes close to this? It's almost a crime that it's free. Absolutely amazing.
Free???? Do u not pay for the Internet where you are then??
So tasteful, glorious melodies. Got goosebumps
Thanks for checking it out.
I must add this. Im 61yo with incurable cancer, but that inspired the fk out of me!
Trying to cop anything possible. And had a great time playin to you guys. Good to have Guthrie back.
Hopefully. And Big T, Forgetaboutit!
GC, Beantown
cool ID logo. one of my all-time favorite songs. hope you're as comfortable as possible. play the hell out of that guitar for as long as you can.
My heart and prayers go out to you. My mom passed last January of the same. I miss her so damn much… i send my love
I'm so sorry about your cancer. Your attitude is admirable! I hope you get all the guitar satisfaction possible. I hope nothing has interfered with that. Love, brother.
Who can rock E mixolydian on that second chord progression and make it sound so unbelievable? It's rock, blues, country and yet nothing but pure melodic guitar brilliance unreal
Thanks for checking it out!
We need more of this content on you tube ..REAL PLAYERS with heart and soul!
Probably the best video I ever seen showing the workings of great guitar playing , Fantastic.
Buke always makes me smile. What a player.
Good gracious! Together at last!!
The pocket on both these guys is monstrous.
Oh yeah. Both are incredible rhythm and lead players!
This is some other level. What feel, what attack, what finesse, ufff ... Man
That 335 is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen
It's a good one!
W0W! Thank you to all!!
In my dreams (and only in my dreams) I play just like this. Dreams yes, but here they are, right here
Yep they are pretty freakin amazing!
This should last forever..❤️🎸
Thanks Brett! ✌️
As fun as that was for me to watch, I can tell that it was even more fun for them working off of each other. That is the perfect illustration of the highest level of fun music can bring.
Agreed! Wait till their album comes out!
This is the best video about playing guitar I have ever seen
I know I can't make it sound like little Tommy Bucovac from Cleveland, but I want that 335. Georgeous guitar. ☺☺☺
Don't worry none of us can lol!
Uncle Larry, Uncle Bob, and now Mr. Papa, your Uncle Bill. This is the best video ever on YT, it doesn’t get much more real than this fella’s, pure magic, fire up the bus with Pete Abbot, Michael Rhodes, record a live record. Thanks Uncle Bill for making this happen!!!
Lol! Well that would be awesome! I'll see if I can make that happen. You never know!
The jam session was incredible both men gangster
"I'm afraid to close my eyes around both you guys!" Classic! This is easily one of the best jams and lessons I've ever seen. I'm a decent picker but my lead sucks. I'll be watching this vid a bunch of times. One thing though, I wish there could've been a split-screen close-up of both players so we could see the awesome rhythm guitars as well.
Makes me think of Christmas.
All we can do is bow down before this GREATNESS . I cannot thank you guys enough for that deep soul music. Godly tunes...
Sure thing! Thanks for tuning in!
uncle Larry is so intentional with his playing.... I mean, JESUS! And he feels it, like a singer emoting something tragic they lived!
Great to see three great players leave their egos at the door and show such respect for one another. Inspiring!
For sure. For how great these players are in town they are all very humble about their abilities. Great to work with all of them.
Bukovac always blows my mind. Not great in interviews (imo), but I can listen to him play for hours without getting bored.
He is awesome in interviews. Watch his picking and rhythm lessons we did together they are fantastic!
What must it feel like when Guthrie thinks your awesome on guitar? This was awesome Brett.. thank you
You are welcome!
Unbelievable talent 🔥
Holy crap that first jam , ive listened to it a bunch now so good
For sure!
These two guys are top shelf all the way!!! They go together like P,B &J. Fantastic video...thanks for sharing this awesome music.
Sure thing!
Uncle Larry brought me here, instant subscribe to this and Guthries channel also. The level of legendary i just witnessed its just awe inspiring. Thank you gentleman.
That is awesome!
What a treasure chest of great ideas and techniques. I know what I’m doing for at least the next year. Inspired
Awesome! Glad you are inspired. My job is done here!
So much, simply.
Never heard of Tom before now. Dude is a musical wizard!
You are in for a hell of a treat!! peace
Check out the homeskoolin show!! Best thing on youtube! Uncle Larry is The music philosopher you did not know you needed in your life.
This video has opened my mind for guitar more than any other video
Awesome! Thanks for checking it out!
My two favorite players also... great post!
Thanks for watching!
Just into the second Jam. Uncle Larry’s Jeff Beck quote made me spit coffee!
Beautiful! Just beautiful.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you guys, pure gold here! Every guitar player should watch this, at least once, but this is one of those videos you’ll learn more each time you watch.
Tons of gems in there.
Pappa "B" does it again ladies and gents ! ! Brings to powerhouse players to his lair and lays bare the blood, bone and grit that makes these two guests the "TWINS OF TERROR". Tom's totally in another league of his own when it comes to chord magic. Then you add Guthrie's melodies and solo passages . . . . . what you end up with are two uninhibited forces unleashed.
Thanks Brett for working on getting these two great players together for your You Tube family ! !
Lest we forget your own playing style and realm of influence that you so artfully seem to rule with authority and display in your playing . . . . . thanks Pal for lookin' after all of us ! !
Sure thing! Awesome to hear you enjoyed the video!
Holy shit! Now that’s what you call some amazing content! Best video I’ve seen in an long time. You’re the man for this one Brett. Many thanks…Uncle Larry is the master of chords and accompanying another musician. Guthrie played some incredible shit over his phrasing which was sublime. Two of the best. The shit Larry comes up with blows my mind. Some of the most unique chord phrasing I’ve ever seen. Always right on top of the beat, timing couldn’t get any better. That’s why he’s the session man. Imagine if these two went out of tour together…I would gladly shell out for front row seats. Maybe call it “ The Session Men “
Thanks Jordan. Was just honored to be able to do it!
Oh man, I'm gonna need some kind of face massage after smiling that big and long! Thanks for such a marvelous start to my day!
Sure thing.
Holy crap. This is one of the coolest things about UA-cam. Growing up for me, access to musicians of this caliber was extremely limited. You'd have to go see them live unless you ran across a VHS tape somehow.
Glad you liked it!
Awesome stuff great melody and phrasing great playing by both
Yep they know just what to do! Thanks for watching!
I picked my bass up and played with them…. I agreed on playing fast, don’t care or it, groove and melody and a great drummer I dig on.
This is so great!! I think they were channeling Gerry Garcia and the Dead 💀!! LOVE THIS!!
Glad you liked it!
That was beautiful
your old buddy would like to be in that mix! too much fun!
How does he get such a great tone on the front pickup of that 335,
just beautiful!
It's a good one and then there is his hands lol!
Sweet Jesus that Tele is one of the sweetest sounding things I’ve ever heard
It's a great one. Danocaster
Papa’s Home Skoolin’ Trapp 😃
Lol! Good one!
Now that's guitar playing! Awesome. I'm nowhere near that level, but it reminds me of the jam sessions I had as a kid playing with friends. Fun, creative playing. Awesome.
Thanks for checking it out Kerry!
two of my favorite guitar players, so killer!!
Thanks for checking it out!
Tom preaching the Bible of harmony and voice leading...epic. There's so much heart in his playing. He has that illusive "going for it" thing that makes everything sound so fresh and immediate, almost like it's the first time he's played that way. Probably the highest skill to bring to a session, in my opinion. Reckless abandon with direction. Brilliant.
I've sat next to some of the greatest guitarists on the planet and from my experience Tom is one of a kind. A once in a 100 years kinda guy.
@@BrettPapa couldn't agree more
It’s a great time to be hooked on music!
What a Wonderful TREAT IDOLS of the Human Rhythm & Tones of the SOUL. Thank you SO Much to you Both,
Thanks for watching Matt!
Oh yeah. Dayum.
That opening was pure and unadulterated sweetness.
Back again. No matter how many times I watch this it just does not get old.
Glad you like the vid! Thanks for watching!
What a gorgeous version of Georgia on my Mind. And that’s just the opener
This is pure dynamite! First some really fundamental truths on how to look at music, breaking out from scales and more. And then Toms way to not think in chord progressions... I will have to digest this for a while and hopefully come out on the other side as a new and much better guitarist. Brett Papa thank you, you are gifted in finding these unreal guitarists and putting your amazing pedagogical skills on top of it. MINDBLOWING!
Awesome! So glad you liked it! Thanks for checking it out!
Great video. Looking forward to the Sunday event too!
Thanks for checking it out!
Capturing the essence of guitar.👌🤙
Bravo Manu👏👏👏
Thanks!
Omg best ever ! Thanks so much you guys.
I have come back again to see these two and each time there is something fresh in it. The takeaway is the respect Tom and Guthrie have for each other musically, demonstrating how the whole is greater than the sum of its parts with that one ingredient. A lesson for us all. Thanks Brett
The first tune they play is very familiar.. it reminded me of Randy Newman's "Guilty". A joy to watch.
An instant classic! It’s not only incredibly insightful for guitarists it also illustrates the importance of friendship, having fun and enjoying the moment. Basically the secret to a happy life!
Yep agreed!
This was such a great learning opportunity for me. Thanks for sharing this
You are welcome!
Oh my, Oh my, Oh my...Surely this is certified meditation. Thankyou chaps !!!
Sure thing!
i love how tom bukovac implies in-between-transitional chords when he is soloing. It's like jazz without the jazz flavouring or something
i've seen tommy emmanuel do that too when grabbing a solo
Yeah! Really good stuff!
The ART (always run tape) that comes out of these guys is truly gallery worthy.
Who among us didn't grab they're guitar and play along with these masters.
Thanks for bringing these guys together Brett.
Sure thing Scott. Trying to get some other jams together in the future. Stay tuned.
Well this is enough information to work on for the next 6 months ;)
Or a lifetime haha!
And Bret Papa had a front row seat to that intro! Outstanding 👌👌😎
Haha! Yeah it was pretty insane! All first takes!
@@BrettPapa when you teased out those little playing nuances from Tom about his double stops etc you were spot on. Such fantastic touches really musical, so much feeling and soul 👌
not even 40 seconds in the video and I am already blown away...what a perfect pair...brett papa...just great great videos for us...welcome welcome welcome!!
Haha! Thanks!
Invite Jedd next time as well and the bunch is complete…pure gold, thanks
He was supposed to be there but got sick the day before.
Masterclass for a lifetime
Folks pay big bucks for this kind of wisdom! What a downright privilege UA-cam can be sometimes!! 😉👍
@@Sammywhat yes there is some real magic here! 😎
Man, talk about gelling. Wow! You guys sound great together. I hope you do it more often.
Thank you for this gift 🙏🙏🙏
Sure thing!
Thanks for the Sunday morning fix!
Sure thing!
So freaking cool!
Glad you liked it!
The Jerry Reed E Mixolydian Groove is what the Dead were going for every night and got right 1 out of every 100 gigs naybe.
Guthrie, you have some Jerry Garcia in you. He liked mixolydian. This session was great - thank you
Beautiful. Great production too. Should be on iTunes.
Hats off to you Brett. 👍👍👍
Thanks Michael!
Beautiful playin
Thanks for tuning in!
Thank you for putting this together and to Tom and Guthrie for being the musicians they are and sharing - pure gold. What an absolute treat to start my week with the video.
You are welcome Eric! Thanks for checking it out.
Awesome video. My two favorite Nashville guitarists. Thanks gentlemen!!
You are welcome Rob!
Thank you Brett papa!!!!
You are welcome!
When is that new record that we have been hearing about coming out?! DAMN!
Good question!
Hey Brett, you guys are a gas to be around, so interesting to me but I don't know if I wasn't a guitar player, just kidding. Thanks guys.
Haha!
It doesn’t really get much better than this. Two of my favourite guitarists these days killing it in the same room. 🤘 This has to be one of my favourite videos I’ve ever watched on UA-cam.
Thanks Brett, much appreciated sir.
✌️
Sure thing Jason! Glad you liked it!
@@BrettPapa absolutely! ✌️ Keep up the great work.
Love their style , and lines and they are brilliant, but hey I'm still enthused about picking this infernally frustrating box of wires and giving it a go.
C'mon everyone, keep at it.
Love to all players
Notice @ 7:29 that Tom start riffing on Jeff Beck's 'Blue Wind', a Jan Hammer composition from Becks 'Wired' album.
My god Tom is a legend
Yep haven't met anyone like him. One of a kind for sure.
amazing
Thanks for checking it out!
So amazing to see these three guys together. Awesomeness!
Thank you for sharing this. Rare deep inflections for us to collect. Such a shift in natures but so aligned. God damn I love music.
Sure thing!
OMG.!!!! Way over due...Thanks for posting this guitar magic, Brett!
You are welcome Robert!
This is one of the best master classes I have seen on UA-cam! Such amazing musical concepts that work for everyone!
Thanks for checking it out! Glad you liked it!
