Good video as always, you make each command simple and very understandable ... thanks for teaching us. I will wait for your next video to see if I go fishing. :-)
It's a pity that it is not Posix compliant because it's on the fly configuration looks convenient. Thank you Ermanno for another clear and well made tutorial, I had never taken a look at fish before.
The number of subscribers is growing inexorably. This means that the video on the channel is relevant and interesting. But I want to see a video about your plans for the future of the channel. What is new to appear or not to appear , what topics will still be covered in the future. Can you give us a look at this "list" 😊
Cool. So, if I wanted to use it with zsh as the background shell, I could just do exec fish for it to be the interactive. Though, I might still keep zsh, I'm getting fond of config files.
better to use starship than oh-my-zsh or oh-my-fish shells.... i promise you will really like it ,and on top of that it is very performant compare to Oh-my- plus powerlevel 9k or 10k theme. less bloat
I am a bit late to this one Ermanno, however, how simple is fish to setup. Great video as always, I love zsh but I will be testing fish out for the foreseeable.
So, for clarification as I’m a beginner in Linux, a terminal emulator and a shell are two different things right? For instance, I could use the fish shell with the kitty terminal on arch Linux?
As per the Arch Wiki, using chsh changes the shell system wide, while exec fish leave Bash as a system shell but gives the possibility to interact with fish.

I installed fish. It's nice, I like it. But I've got two problems. 1. Where I should enter this command so that my system will start automatically as it was before I installed fish? Thank you! :)

You have some of the best tutorials I've ever seen on UA-cam. Clear, concise and easy to follow. I hope your channel really takes off!
Thanks Ward!
Man you are making excellent tutorials...saving hours and hours of hard work....thanks
Nice guide Ermanno, thanks.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! The second part comes in Thursday:)

Thanks! Yeah that’s its downside, but the main functionality can be achieved by using it as an interactive shell.
Hi! i'm new in your channel! thank you for all your jobs :)
Hey thanks for being here!! And welcome!
Hey Ermanno. Loving your videos. I'm now an Arch user thanks to you.! Do you have any plans to do a tutorial on how to save dotfiles in Git/Stow?
Hi Jason! Thanks! This is a good point. I never thought on doing that until now, but I see the news for that. I’ll look into it.

I think I’d keep zsh in your case, otherwise you might end up with doubled functionality.
Can you show compiling custom arch kernels
Eventually in the future :)

Once I will have a laptop with that feature I will. Until then I can’t.

How is adding exec fish to bashrc different to using chsh?

Can you do a tutorial on vim?
That’s a great suggestion, I’ll add it to the list :)
